You are the next Kenyan taking the Nobel prize bro✨
Sure
I've been seeing that picture of a child and vulture on Facebook but today I've gotten the whole story. Thank you Mkurugenzi. You deserve the Nobel prize!
You are welcome!
@@Mkurugenziii check out my comment
What wonderful story for South Sudanese, Mkuruu the picture of Kevin in the story standing together with South Sudanese soldiers recall our Struggle I saw South Sudan President Mr. Salvir Khier Mayardit together with Kevin
I am a nurse and sometimes I over ride the Doctors Order and I go home with my licence at steak God has never left me . And one time I waited for the Doctor and the patient died I cannot bear it again and God is faithful so faithful.
Have been in your shoes before
You look nice sweetie momaa

Teacher, teacher: The club's name was The Bang Bang Club and it consisted of 4 members. Back to the story: I think Kevin did what he thought was the best thing to do at that particular point with the information he had. I did a crash course in First Responder and one thing the instructors kept hammering onto us was: If you dont have the right gear or material for a situation dont respond
ii) Always asses a situation and if you realize offfering help puts you in harms way then stop immediately.
I'd hate to be in Kevin's shoe because sincerely I dont know what I would have done. It also break my heart that he had to take his life: that pic triggered an avalanche of humanitarian response which I think was a positive thing. Did the baby die, for those who know?
correct
✅✅
No the baby survived but died 14years later from Malaria
Such a tragic and sad story but just a thought… why couldn’t they give the child even a bottle of water and some little food to give the child some strength to reach where there was food?
@@beatykairu5331 probably they'd run out of them by the time they got to where the kid was.
The Bang Bang Club
Eish lucky me today kukua top ten kwa comment section manze keep up the spirit we love and get inspire by you
The first time I heard this story my heart genuinely broke,I couldn't sleep for days,I wept for the kid.I wept for and blamed humanity. This is one of those stories that sticks with you.Forever.
The war in Sudan will forever remain a painful part of our history. All the people who witnessed it and survive try to explain the ordeal wanashindwa. None can explain it with dry eyes
BANG-BANG CLLUB!!!
You never know how you'll act in a certain situation until you're In it. Too many variables come into play. He did his job and it's sad that we live in such a broken world.
Watu apa njei wakifurahia kupewa punan mimi nafurahia notification ya mkuru stories

He is doing more than enough kutuentertaine...
What a sad and memorable story of Kevin Carter.😢
Thank you Mukuru for sharing this.
If i were kevin i wouldn't have left before the UN medics arrived at the scene.he should have saved the kid first.
What a sad ending for Kevin.he was traumatized probably regretting he would have done things differently.rules are meant to be broken.Mkuru you have done justice to the story.beautifully narrated
It’s ok. He served his purpose. The problem is that UN , UNEP and other agencies are copied his strategy to collect money. Using a small group of suffering Africans for their own benefit. That is the tragedy 😢
The fact that kuna watu hawajui how picha zilikuwa zinaungwa makes me feel old😢😢😢😢
I dont know how but abel you became to be my role model ❤through you i believe i can do it 🤗in life😂adi mimi ninunue machine🚘
I believe you can, keep grinding
The biggest lesson I've learned from this is that the Law should never be above Humanity.
Just read about this yesterday. Being human is such a strange weakness . Humans get affected when they see other humans suffer, especially when it's beyond their control.
You are mistaken , not all human gets affected when others suffer cuz if that was to be the case, most of the poloticians would be affected the most.
The intro short stories always make the entire episode even more jyuucieer❤❤❤❤
Bang Bang club 😁 :Am From South Sudan 😢 our American school pastor from Grace Baptist church Nakuru told us this same story that you told us 😭
Such a touching story
Sometimes I watch news about some communities fighting, some hate speech from from our politicians and some citizens support such hate speech, and I am like, “these people do not know the value of the peace we enjoy in this country.” Refugee are just people who were living their normal lives in their country; teachers, bankers, healthcare practitioners, lawyers, engineers, business people, the jobless, etc., but something happened in their country and they could no longer live there. The fact that in most parts of this country, Nairobi for example, you can wake up, walk to the nearest bus stop, catch a bus to CBD, run your errands, and once done, catch another bus to your residence and find your house still intact, is a reason to thank God and do whatever it takes to keep that peace.
I was moved by the criticism that eventually led to Kelvin committing suicide. And I can imagine in this generation with social media, such criticism can go even further. I think it is important to make an effort to understand the circumstances someone was in before judging them.
In this spirit, Abel please tell the story of “The Lost Boys of Sudan.” It might not be such a headline hitter, but it is a touching story.
Thank-you for your insight. This is something people need to be told. Peace is so underrated. Especially in Kenya, it's almost as if some people work extra hard to bring chaos.
next tuchapie story ya 1 hour please. I usually listen to you narrations while working and I find it short when it is 30 mins.
I know you can do it
When I was studying journalism as an undergraduate we often discussed the ethics surrounding the photo...Some say it was wrong and others said that Kevin Carter did no wrong.
What about you....what do you think

If this story had been given without Kevin's history of standing for what's right regardless of the rules we would probably judge him different. I remember vaguely hearing a snippet of the vulture story
and judging it as inhumane, but now I feel differently about it. Let's leave the judging to God because sometimes we don't know the whole story.
iyo club ilikuwa inaitwa BANG-BANG CLUB
Nko hapa leo on time
What killed Carter was the fact that a journalist told him that there were 2 vultures in the photo the bird and Carter. This ruined his life badly to the point of committing suicide.

According to me, the mission, there was to take photos in order to attract aid but now you’ve got to one of the most precious photo according to your feelings at the same time. It is a life that you have to save, especially knowing that this is a toddler despite being under serious instruction not to touch or come to contact to the victims, now I think he could just sat down there and wait until the medics arrive before proceeding to the next destination. Better time wasted to save a life, than time saved to get content.
My thoughts exactly...
Remember as Mkuru has just said they were under strict instructions. And two, they had been ordered (not even asked I presume) to go where the plane was giving the aid to capture that. They had to be there. Otherwise may he Rest in Peace.
The whole point of taking the photos was to use them to sought aid to save the people of Sudan, was the child not part of the people they were looking help for? There is no excuse for not saving the girls life

Abel you are a good story teller.
Tragically, Carter committed suicide three months after the photograph was published
and only a week after being awarded the Pulitzer Prize. Carter’s death is speculated to have been
a result of one of two things: either he could not handle the fame that was brought on by the
photograph and the award, or he could not bear the guilt of not helping the child in the
photograph. In a Time magazine article following Carter’s tragic suicide, the piece relayed the
guilt that Carter felt and how “even some of Carter's friends wondered aloud why he had not
helped the girl” (MacLeod, 1994). The guilt he had felt afterwards for not helping the little girl
seemed to be too much for the man to handle.
did that little girl die?
I guess from the suicide note, he explained why he had to end his life.....money, depression, horrible images of dead bodies and inability to help those in need
I believe that was the last straw, the trauma had been building throughout his life eventually exploded after the picture.I wish he hadn't spoken publicly about the details of the photo...if truly he called the UN immediately and was told the situation was being taken care of,then he would have never faced the public wrath. On the other hand,we don't know if the UN acted in the urgency that was required or that he was actually afraid of whatever disease the girl might have been carrying...and the guilt was overwhelming.Sad,sad,sad...I wish mental health services were as available as they are now.Im sure he has PTSD as well from everything he saw and experienced since childhood.
@@home254ke I just read in some comment up there that apparently she didn't die but later succumbed to death at 15 years of age due to Malaria

Same here...save the child. The sad thing is that he waited for 20min to see if the vulture would spread it's wings, this way the Pic would have been better...
