LYRICS (Taken from TH-cam Description):
I could feel it from the start
Thick, like fog,
It was the warning of a
Broken heart
Blinded by the lightning and the white-hot power of love
Rain and thunder
Washing me under
And I'm cursin' the skies above
A storm is brewin' babe
I ain't got time to sit and pray
Because this life don't come free
I got what's mine comin' to me
I said a storm is brewin' babe
I ain't got time to sit and pray
Because this life don't come free
I got what's mine comin' to me
Sugar, understand what's in store
So you'll be ready
Cus the breakin' levy
Bringin' water to your door
A storm is brewin' babe
I ain't got time to sit and pray
Because this life don't come free
I got what's mine comin' to me
I said a storm is brewin' babe
I ain't got time to sit and pray
Because this life don't come free
I got what's mine comin' to me
Love ain't patient
It's not kind
And true love waits
To rob you blind
I've braved this hurricane
And I got mine
Blowin' right back to me
A storm is brewin' babe
I ain't got time to sit and pray
Because this life don't come free
I got what's mine comin' to me
I said a storm is brewin' babe
I ain't got time to sit and pray
Because this life don't come free
I got what's mine comin' to me

What a great voice! This is Soul in the best way possible.
Absolutely awesome!
Holy cannoli Batman, what a voice . So glad I don't only listen in to what I already know, because this was fricking awesome. Thanks for another great reaction video 😄
Trying to get this reacted across TH-cam. Dorothy's Voice IS Special Especially on this Track. Powerhouse Vocals. That’s why she is a Guest Vocalist on 3 new tracks with Slash Scott Stapp & Staind New Songs. Next song to react to Dorothy should be
Rest In Peace. You Will Absolutely Love It. I Guarantee It
Thank you so much for another great reaction/analysis. I don't want to take up all the open request slots but I definitely have more I'd like to send your way that I think you'll like.
Dorothy is the band name and also her name. Odd but it works.
Yes you correct in my taste of vocalist. I tend to prefer rock but not only rock and I usually find female voices more pleasing to the ears.
Me too. Personally, I like the unplugged version of Rest in Peace better, but I can listen to her anytime!
Thank you, @LostHate ! We appreciate the kind words and support. You can take up as many request slots as you like, we try to get through them all as best we can. Also, thank you for the introduction to this amazing band. We hope to cover them more in future. We appreciate you!
There is one thing that really upsets me about this request - I didn't make it first. @LostHate, you have excellent taste in music. I discovered Dorothy 7 or 8 years ago when I watched the video for Raise Hell. Dorothy Martin is a powerhouse. There are so many great blues rock singers and groups that just do not get the attention they deserve. Some of the other great women of blues rock are Samantha Fish, Sue Foley, Ana Popovic, Joanne Shaw Taylor, my fellow Texan Ally Venable, Shemekia Copeland, Danielle Nicole, Sari Schorr, Hannah Wicklund, the Lovell sisters of Larkin Poe, Elin Larsson of the Swedish band Blues Pills, and, of course, the great Beth Hart.
Indeed a great request and awesome introduction to a fantastic band and another voice that will surely climb up our favourites list in a hurry! Just wow! Very impressive! I (Itai) personally miss these types of voices as we don't hear this kind if style as much as we used to back in the day. It is kind of both nostalgic and refreshing. We are looking forward to more Dorothy on the channel.
BTW, some of your requests will be coming soon, Dan. VERY soon! 😉
If this song is "100% heart", Rest in Peace is 100% soul. This link is from the same unplugged session. The OMV is great too, but this one is quintessential Dorothy. It is about overcoming addiction and moving on. th-cam.com/video/xbf_mF7_KmI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1nVZqUYC2vuxDnF8
Thank you for taking the time to view and engage! Much appreciated!
We added the request to our VERY long request list, it might be a while but we hope to get to it. Thanks again!
