That is probably the most beautiful classic 240 series I've ever seen. I have a small obsession with these old bricks, since they literally last forever.
This have a very Euro vibe to it. The color, headlights, crank windows and cloth interior all takes me back to the Volvos so many around me used to have. Nice car, good to see somebody taking care of it. And those wheels look great on it!

The paint job looks amazing! :) What I really like about all these cars is that they're almost rust free, since it's California cars, so they're super clean underneath! Hope so see more videos of 240's, you should keep an eye out for 740, 760, or 780, the 780 is super rare tho but it's a Bertone and it's such a beauty :)
Volvos were and possibly still are very dependable and used to seem to last forever When I was taking the bus to school it was a rather common site at one of the stops near my home to see junk cars go by on trailer/tow trucks. mostly vans trucks Hondas, Toyotas and stuff like that but in terms of Volvos it was almost alawlys a older one that would of been about 20 or so years old there was a newer one but it was wrecked in a crash
I like the wheels... I did the same thing with a Toyota Avalon I had once.. it had 3 auto parts plastic wheel covers when I bought it. A trip through ebay scored a cheap set of Toyota logo wheelcovers, 3 years newer, for a different model.. but they looked great, and the guy I sold the car to didn't notice till I told him.
great looking 1978 242DL. rare to see with 111k. My first ever car was a 79 242DL 4spd auto. they are super reliable and durable. that buzzer though lol. your blinker light bulb is out. curious what you sold yours for. ? great video
Hey, CerealM as for your test drive we don't see much of the interior, such as the steering wheel and gages, it would be neat if you used a gopro type thing or held the camera above the wheel :) alltough its probably hard, haha
My first car was the sedan version of this car and even the same year. It was just as clean as this one but black. And I loved that car except for the rear wheel drive and shit fuel injection.

Don't worry about that sunroof. My 242 did the same. The gear inside is jammed up. Never got it working

DL was a cheap version. No powersteering and poor sound. But damn it's in a good shape!
not from the beginning i think that 78 you could also get the L which was even cheaper.
