Thanks for the feedback guys. I agree, I should have recorded more engine/driveby sounds. I did not think of it when filming, my bad. I won't miss is in the upcoming episodes 😊.
What an absolutely stunning machine. She is positively gorgeous. I drive a swede myself (saab), so i have a real soft spot for builds like this. The Scandinavian cars are incredibly machines, and anyone who drives one, end up driving one indefinitely for the rest of life eternal lol. Love the blacked out steelies on this. and the super clean shaved look is oustanding 👌 Like a fine timepiece, it is both art and functional mechanical beauty 💯😍
Cool video and even better car. In future car videos that you add subtitles to make the font size a few sizes larger. I don’t know I’m needing an eye exam so maybe it’s just me. Ya I wanted to hear the car but I really did like the video and appreciated the fact it went into some detail about the full build so much so that I possibly got some ideas that I might incorporate on an unknown future build (I also enjoy building sleeper type cars) so to me personally hearing it is cool but I appreciate the “build sheet” I guess.
This thing is amazing. My dad works at bilia and we just sold his 04- V70R. that thing flew. but i bet that it was nothing to this. Much love from the east neighbour🇫🇮❤️
The visible roll cage gives it away. If the roll cage would've followed the roof lines a bit more, man. Outside of the rims and shaved doors you might not see that badboy coming.
Sweet build my brother! I had a 1979 262 Bertone Coupe with a 300 hp Chevy Camaro motor, Turbo 350C trans. Looked stock with the original turbine wheels & the 4 rectangular headlights that was the U.S. front end. Silver paint & black vinyl top. What a great car. Should still have it but divorces don't give you what you want. Btw, from Copenhagen originally.😉
I like the swedish enthusiasm . :-) What a great car , clean and nice build ...I have seen these modified Volvo's long time ago in Zweden and they are fast ! I hope this build culture can continu in the future .... (only missed to see some performance of this car) but thanks for the nice movie.
What a beautiful build! Never thought the brick cars could look that elegant. And that engine! ❤️❤️❤️! I like old Alfa Romeos, but my first car was a Volvo 244 2.3l , so I will always have a sweet spot for these cars. They’re comfortable and indestructible, and believe me I tried 😁
The Caliber of Engineering Workmanship and Detail is quite incredible and if you can not appreciate this build your not a true car enthusiast at all and just don’t get either. Here in the states you see the common mustangs Camaro ECT . Builds this is Fresh and Clean I would love to Roll out with this car . Excellent Job great 👍 Paint choice too for originality and Sleeper . who ever gave this a Thumbs down is a Hater and go troll someone else
Had the privilege to line up next to this car multiple times last year att Emmaboda(not inte same class though). It is truly stunning and an aweseome build. Grymt bra!
great car and video, I am on my fourth Volvo 240 ,I was in the car sales business for some years, there were good and not so good cars and i always came back to Volvo 240's and even sold for Volvo Canada in the late 80's when lots of things were changing globally in the auto industry and still came back to 240's, the only other Volvo i liked was the 780 Bertone , finished in Italy and was a fantastic car, still not too many of even the newest models have the same fit and finish as they did, 240's are simple you love them or hate and simple to work on and are dead reliable, living in the centre of Canada we have some of the coldest winters in the world temperature wise -40 is not uncommon for us to have in winter or even colder with wind chill, and there is no there car that has cold starting reliability like 240's or the heat they produce and don't garage my cars and will start most times without plugging in the block heater, the swedes just tested the heck out of these cars before they went on the market, my daily driver is a 1989 240 DL with around 320k on the clock and engine is never been apart just the usual consumable items replaced, i still have original front shocks that i will change in the summer and still the factory fuel pump and that is the one item i have never replaced on any of my Volvos yet, time will tell and am currently planning out a restoration of my 1982 242 GLT with the rare B23 E engine that only available in Canada and Europe, and looking to do a upgrade to EFI from mechanical injection and modern ECU for it, possibly Haltech time will tell, you can't find the old injection parts anymore, or do a 850 2.4 turbo conversion to it, the 4 speed o/d is great and can handle the power, great video 👍 🚘
All those "car lovers" on facebook or wherever you see those kinda guys post some lamborghini, ferraris, mclaren or paganis, where real car guys own this
Need to import a handful of these sweeds to Australia and put them to work. How cool would it be to have someone like this at your local garage. Love the build, minimalist, sleeper, original ❤
Mine had 637 less horsepower and yet I still loved my 1976 242 DL. It was built like a tank. I would drive 25k miles a year, and so it ate exhaust parts, brakes, tires and power steering fluid., but nothing else. The odometer only worked when it was below 15 F outside, so I had no idea how many miles were on it. I suspect about 180,000 or so.
This is a very nice colour. I had the same colour in mind when I planed for a V8 swap at a -75 242 back in the 90's. I had all the parts, complete front and rear suspension and drive shaft from a 265 and a Buick/Oldsmobile/Rover aluma 215 cui/3,5 L V8. I don't remember why it was never built...
Otroligt snyggt bygge. Motorrummet magiskt snyggt! 👍
My ‘76 Volvo 242 DL in dark blue would’ve been the best car I ever owned. All it would have needed is a 4 speed with overdrive transmission (mine was a 3 speed auto), a nice Volvo crank sunroof, the right side door rear view mirror and an engine like this one has. Btw, I put a $39 40 watt radio shack combo 7 band equalizer/amp, $80 dollar clarion 6 x 9’s in the back deck and a $299 Blaupunkt cassette deck in it and to this day, that was the best sounding stereo I’ve had in a car. That Volvo trunk somehow made it have really accurate bass. ( wow, I just realized I liked this car so much I posted 2 times on it)
This really makes me miss my 1980 242dl. We called it doodoo brown because of the color. Tough car and had some of the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in. 4 spd manual, bought it with 346,000 miles for $300, thought the car had mechanical issues, turned out the fuel gauge didnt go below 1/3 tank, so it was just out of fuel.
I have a soft spot for these, not sure of the exact year (early 70s with round lights and metal grill) my parents had an earlier version of this body style car white with blue tweed interior I spent my childhood in a volvo and smile when ever I see one. Cool car!🇸🇪🇺🇸🏴☠️👍😎
Really well build Volvo! Always loved the front end of these but hated the rear end :D Volvo has one of the best 5 cyl engines, same lvl with Audi's 5 cyl engines
I kept thinking any second now he will start showing us what it can do... But nope Sunday driving miss daisy. Nice car but I needed to see it in beast mode
I used to dominate Forza Horizon in this exact car. Same color, same roll cage, same power output. I think it was my S1 Class car, can't remember, but it used to destroy all exotics. And the best thing about it? It was a Volvo 240!
Thanks for the feedback guys. I agree, I should have recorded more engine/driveby sounds. I did not think of it when filming, my bad. I won't miss is in the upcoming episodes 😊.

TBF you're making videos for car guys. You don't even need talking 11 minutes 51 seconds of car noises would have been just fine!
Cool video and even better car. In future car videos that you add subtitles to make the font size a few sizes larger. I don’t know I’m needing an eye exam so maybe it’s just me. Would have liked to have heard the engine at some point.
MsMsmak I’ll keep that in mind for future vids
Ja..
Sound here. th-cam.com/video/WXhe05-z2xM/w-d-xo.html
You just saved me 6 minutes
@@atvheads Bless you.
nice to see a high hp volvo that has a volvo engine and isn't swapped to an ls or something
We have a shit ton of high hp volvo engines in Sweden
In sweden there is a fuck ton of high hp volvos with volvo engines xD
Rule number one in the Scandinavian car community: If you see a Volvo with a roll cage, you better run!
Incredible car. We would enjoy seeing it in action. The car didn't really get a chance to speak.

It's not often but this is my fav video on TH-cam. The shots, the car, the colour grading, the whole video.
Nice. The level of finesse in that engine room, Per is the real deal.
Looks awesome, I always liked this model, now I like it even more!
Good investment for another 25 years , she will still running ! Good power , enough power ! Caring , and always luv and beside you !
Very clean and tidy build, love the (mostly) period exterior and no nonsense race interior. Great job!
I know my comment is very late but this car is superbly done and I want to congratulate Per on it.
what a beautiful volvo
Literally one of the cleanest builds I’ve ever seen
What a nice and humble guy you are and at the same time an artist with your wonderful discrete beige 240. 😊
It sort of looks like a sleeper, but I think it looks pretty badass and modified
The visible roll cage gives it away. If the roll cage would've followed the roof lines a bit more, man. Outside of the rims and shaved doors you might not see that badboy coming.

this is such a beautiful car
If you know the power this set up provides you already know the sound. Beautifully done car and video.
Beautiful job. I’ve always loved the old Volvos and love the fact you tried to keep it looking as original as possible. Would love to see it running.
This deserves much more views!
That's very.. very cool 242 Volvo. Warmest regards Volvo fans from Indonesia
Great car, beautifully prepared and explained with typical Swedish modesty........
Wow, this is so nice and clean, the work is immaculate. Great video, i didn't mind missing engine sound, it's hard to capture the real sound anyway.

The 4 speed from the 240s aw70 i believe or the aw55 from the 850s? How much can these handle?
Cool build. Nice stance, great power. Shes a ripper for sure. Neat video!
Nice clean ride, great to see the Volvo engine too.

You don't have to be able to build cars to love them, there's plenty of owners of Lambos etc that use them as they're intended to be used.
I've always loved the 240!
I wish Volvo still made those things!
Vackert arbete.
This cream color is so classy 💕

Had a 1979 244 when i was living in Australia a beast of a thing

@@wyldeyouth in 1986 the 240 turbo won the Australian touring car championship, the built 4 Banger turbo beat the V8's of its day
