I've been through interrogations before (non violent drug charges) I have zero idea how these people manage to just fall for everything and incriminate themselves so much when they interrogated me I said I wanted a lawyer and after they continued to try and get me to talk I just kept saying I wanted my lawyer just shut up and let the people who's job it is to deal with the law do their job

when you get arrested on the street, you go to the police station and they process you. Then you stay at least one night. this is not jail, but lock-up. once you are processed by the police, you see the judge whenever they feel like allowing you to do so. depending on the county or officers, getting picked up on a friday could mean you stay in lock-up in the station until monday, or they could take you to county jail. jail is when you have been arrested and processed but not necessarily charged and are awaiting a trial, court date, hearing, arraignment, etc. the county jail will give you a risk assessment rating which will then determine what prison you will be sent to, whether high or low risk ordinarily someone wouldnt be immediately interrogated but since this is a sting and they have 100% certainty as to the criminality of the offender, they handle it differently. interrogation is not a normal part of being arrested and going to jail police and investigators are different. investigators cannot use testimony in court if it was delivered outside of the rights, but a police officer is not concerned with your rights during questioning. all the times ive been arrested ive not had my rights read to me until i was in the station answering a hundred questions
