w202's are one of the best vehicles you can purchase. Will last forever. Not sure with the c180 tho as we don't have those in the states. A c230 or c230 kompressor are amazing cars, also any w202 AMG. Love to watch your new build.
I had a 94 C180, kinda last long is i could say, been using it as a daily driver for 6 years straight with minimal service. Planning to do a restoration next time. So far its my fav car since for the past 5 years i got used to it so much that i liked the handling of it compared to the W210s
I was given a 1998 C230 for free from someone who couldn’t figure out why it would die, I boosted it when it got towed and it started right away. 307 808km and all it needed was an alternator.
I had a 95 C180 for many many years, when i sold it i had 1,366,000klms on the odometer. Engine and trans were still untouched original, it was dead set bullet proof. F***en spectacular car. The WDB build (German) were perfect, the South African built cars were junk.
W202 owner from Malaysia here. Had it for 5 years now and still running smooth. The best & cheapest maintenance Mercedes car to maintain. Cheers mate! 😁✌️🇲🇾
I daily drive one and it's the best car I've ever owned. These cars have a problem when the coil boots start to wear out that it will shut down a cylinder if it continuously misfires
Mercedes W202 is basically an affordable reliable car which never has big issues but there is always something. The maintenance is low, like the other pre 2000 Mercedes models.
You are very smart. Have a 1999 C230 with 68,000 miles nobody wants it for $8000. So I’d rather keep that. If you don’t drive one you’ll never understand. This why I have pissed off so many buyers. They suck, Mercedes Benz rule and so do i. And you. 🎸❤️🔥
From Nigeria. Got one two months ago, same colour. It's like diamond. Drives like a dream. Haven't driven my honda accors 08 since. It's bullet proof! Your car issue might be plugs. Should you be willing to sell, would buy it from you and import to Nigeria
I've had my 99 supercharged w202 for 7 years and the only problem it's ever had is the ignition. It has one of those big plastic BS keys and when you go to crank it, you have to really push in hard while you turn. It's left blisters on my fingers in parking lots when I daily drove it
just bought one of these for 1300$ runs amazing and its in amazing condition considering its a 1997 kinda like this one. 152k miles on it, 3 owners (including me), and im using it as a daily driver roughly 50 miles a day. just wondering of anyone thinks i fucked up buying this car?? cause at the moment i could see this car running me way over 200,000 the way it runs. thanks for any input
So far at roughly 60,000 miles I replace the spark plugs and coil packs after running into a chugging problem at red lights. Ran good for a few weeks and then all of a sudden started dying randomly while driving. Replace the crank sensor and since then been good.!
Nice 202! They are really perfect daily cars for city traffic. I have a w202 daily in Melbourne as well and it surprises me how good the car actually runs. I even took it to the snow no dramas. Who knows we might bump into each other when i spot another low 202.
Those engines are easy to fix. And parts are easy and cheap to get. I have a 93 c180, and it runs smooth like clockwork after 30 years. The W202 is one of the most reliable cars ever, if you take care of it.
I’ve got a C240 and it’s running real smooth I’ve had it for 4 years had misfire problems but that was fixed straight away for the past 4 years has been my pride and joy just gotta take care of it and it’ll take care of you
@@waanderful A "misfire" happens when one or more of the engine's cylinders fail to ignite the air-fuel mixture at the right time. This can cause the engine to run rough, lose power, or shake. Common causes of a misfire include faulty spark plugs, ignition coils, fuel injectors, or a problem with the engine's air-fuel mixture.
also im looking to buy one with a misfire on cyl6 . usually its a spark plug, or the actual wires and annoyingly you have to get OEM wires or get a new/used/refurbish ecu. for some reason the coils are well made but the actual wiring is just funky
Well done guys 👍Mercedes is a good car, and it will look good on new wheels. You do quality content, but I expected to see a new look in this series. I am also the owner of w202 from Russia, subscribed to the channel and pressed the button 👍
Ive had the same issues with my W202 1996 model ..but it was because water got spilled in to the spark plugs ...it did happen when i made the car engine washed...so after removing the spark plugs...cleaning the water and putting new spark plugs....that vibrations stopped and it still runs very well up to now
Bought the cheapest c230k available at the moment It has 337k km No mot Bought for 1500 After 500 bucks of repairs it is the moet enjoyable car i ever had Especially on the brabus monoblocks it looks awesome! Now i want to chip it put it om bags and make it a reall Mafia car
You guys should stick to Japanese cars , this is one of the greats of the old Mercs. That engine and the 6 cylinder engines were solid just need maintenance
bought mine 2 years ago 1995 W202 C200 (PMS) still working on restoring till now(PMS is a huge headache and might do an engine swap and prolly goin for the M112 swap with a 5spd g/box)
@Weltverschlechterer that was my initial plan since the cost is kinda high here i had to look into m112 but wwe'll see if i can hit a jackpot on either m104 or the m111k thanks for the input!
@Weltverschlechterer I'm in Australia so everything is inflated here. I'd love to visit Germany one day as my dad used to live there for many years. $100 will get you a set of OEM spark plugs here.
European car problems like Japanese cars don’t break either I’ve have a w202 and 2 accord euros and the cl9s have been more worse then the w202. Like any car when there old stuff goes wrong. Bet you can’t find a perfect 20+ year old Japanese luxury
@Weltverschlechterer 🤣 I don't care if my car is considered cool by anyone. I just think it's a good car. If you don't think so, then so be it. You may think the W202 could become a classic. I said my opinion. Take it or leave it. Simple as that.

Miss fire oil it go to spark plug housing if you change the spark plug rubber seal it will run better .remove valve cover and replace rubber seal
W202s don't break.
Nice one. late 80 and early 90 Mercs are undervalued by the enthusiast market.

@@dookiepatookie9229there’s one local to me, 2000 C230 Kompressor with 45k miles and he wants $9500. I want it so bad.

The thing with 90s Mercedes is that everything pretty much is so simple to fix.
And the answer is? Why?

@@Farhad_ZKD Thanks mate
May need new coils. My w202 used to do that too and I changed the coils and plugs and it ran great after that. Mine is 2.4l btw
It's at lease a 25years old car...very few car's are really build to last these long...of course some Maintenance is needed to keep her going...
I have 3 w202. Very strong snd don't broke !!!
Good choice W202 build. I’ve built a W202 track car
Im interested in ur build sir whats the suspension set up engine mods wheels ect
also im looking to buy one with a misfire on cyl6 . usually its a spark plug, or the actual wires and annoyingly you have to get OEM wires or get a new/used/refurbish ecu. for some reason the coils are well made but the actual wiring is just funky
The main issue of this m111 engine is the throttle body..maybe it suit the cold temperature country but it will not last in hot climate
Check wiring harness to coils the wires corrode and fall apart which makes them missfire
Nice man, good to see mercs getting some love on your channel
This slow start and missfire is from a faulty maf sensor this is a pretty common problem on w202 the maf sensor tends to fail quickly
I had the same problem with mine it might be a faulty injector or it u have to change spark plugs or maybe a faulty coilpack
try the coils and suppressor rubber first it most likely them

solid yes, im a big fan or the BrGoodrich g-force tires. i refuse to buy Michlin over advertized.
w202 c220d is great they never break
Bought a C280 it is awesome
Would switch in an m112 engine, change my exhausts and run great

are the back wheels broken . how do you correct that ?
so are you keeping the fix a secret?
Dude.... just get new coils. Trust me.
Okay... should have just watched a bit longer😅

Brilliant car!
"Vip build"...
Procedes to show us a *C-CLASSE*
you can wreck a good engine by driving around with a miss fire.
Just buy a Barra. I had a German car and they are a nightmare if they go wrong!
@Weltverschlechterer Agree. They are bulletproof until an issue is found. Then see a bank manager and eat rice for a month to fix.

K-swap it 🤫
There's definitely something wrong with your wheels, lol.
Got the same car w202 95,
Better off getting rid of that shit engine... they become so problematic and expensive to maintain. just find another brand engine to throw in
Car is great. You just bought a junk
The suspension looks collapsed.
Its got airbags 🙄
I don't understand why you got this. It's just a boring old C-Class. 😆
