When rivers flood, fish will seek areas of low to no current. If you find the right location, fishing can be quite easy. If the river does not flood into a low current area, then the fish will often hold tight against the shoreline, usually in flooded trees.

These guys are not anglers they are no better than street bums.....it's bad enough keeping fish that are as red as turkeys but to leave them to die slowly by the side of the river is an unforgivable act of cruelty.....this would get you a lifetime ban and a heavy fine it it happened on an Irish or English.

I miss fishing the lake at Selkirk for ice out browns and later in the fall for steelies and Chinook with an occasional brown at night with my 13 foot noodle rod and 8 pound line. I do not miss the idiots though
Well its combat fishing at its finest, Altmar is just below the hatchery, the fish swim out the lake, up the Salmon River all of about 7 miles or so right into the hatchery, its not Alaska or one of the great BC streams, its something they created, friends of mine go there every year, Its not my cup of tea, those fish are suppose to be caught.
I cant wait to get up there this fall! I am hooked on catching 8-10 pound steelhead cant immagine what it will be like to have a 20+ lber on!!!
