Wise Thakur Ashoka, I hope that you are doing well on this fine day. I certainly am, seeing that a pious ruler such as yourself governs these lands. We have enjoyed your visits to the monastery, and look forward to any future retreats you may undertake. You have done marvelously in retaining Bodh Gaya, it serves well near the seat of your power. Yet my heart yearns for the place where the Buddha first taught to be liberated, and I am sure that a learned man such as yourself would agree. I do not suggest capturing Sarnath now, as your power remains limited, but when the chance comes I hope you will consider retaking the park where the Dharma was first taught. Pious Thakur. I have come to notice a major problem, it’s all well and good to develop our capital and make it best it can be but your other territories seem to be far more less developed and it turn they may feel neglected. Building buildings is one thing, but we should also consider developing other counties so that they can catch up to our wonderful capital and in turn make our realm far more developed rather than just one good city. As your steward I highly recommend this but ultimately the decision is in your hands. Your loyal steward Barmun

@@SMellmYfEet1999 that's wrong the first independence war from the British was started by bengalis, which resulted in the British creating the martial race myth due to bengalis rebelling against them, also the second independence movement was spearheaded by bengalis, then bengalis went through another independence movement with west pakistan. There's a reason why the national anthem of India is in bengali.

To the Good Sander Graf, May this message find you and the Good Lord of the Thikana of Gaya well. You Find Yourself a Stranger in a Strange Land Eh? Well I hope you’ve found good company in Gaya. I understand the focus of this realm is not military conquest, nor do I think it wise to expand rapidly without consolidation. But He who does not climb, will not fall either. I have to say that this is very refreshing. I enjoy this kind of playthrough better than the aggressive conquest playthroughs. In fact, I wouldn't mind if you just remain like this for most of the campaign. I don't often see CK3 gameplayss where people only play as counties or duchies for their entire playthrough. Also, I love how you and your wife became friends almost instantly and have so much in common. It's sad that you guys struggled having kids, but that's realistic. To the Wisest of Wise My Lord, my name is Sahmid Yidah. To you I offer my deepest congratulations at the aspect of your marriage, and my most sincere condolences at the loss of your first and third child. Might I also offer some advice. You are clearly a beloved man, who is knowledgeable above all the rest. Yet I worry that those with blacker hearts might strike at your weaknesses. As a young and swift footed woman, I hear many a scheme. My advice, my Lord, is too keep your steady pace and kind heart. Prehaps develop further your relationship with your wife. The day the vile Thakur fell and our city was liberated my father shed a tear and said to me: "Son the great liberator has saved us from a great tyrrant." I laughed, since I was a young man and said that you'll be the same or even worse. How stupid I was, for now I see that my father was wiser than me. Since your rule is just and fair, our city has prospered and many neighbours of mine and my family started claiming to be of the same culture as you. I was surprised to hear that we weren't of same culture, for your laws are just and your rule is just, and laws of your culture are just and wise. My dear Raja, we people of Damin-I-Koh wish to be of same culture as you, so your humble servants begs you. Please allow you Steward to teach us the ways and traditions of Bengal, for we wish to serve you the best way we can and to understand your laws the same way you do. If not, well, rest assured I will be amongst the men of your army regardless. Also if I may remind you,it will be beneficial to build a monastery well equipped with all the prerequisite military building to help defend your realm, especially on the frontier. Well that's all I need to say,am sure you still have plenty of more urgent matter to attend to. I take my leave.

And let me say the darest thing in my life, the great city of Pataliputra should be in your rule. If you would decline my proposal, then my way would be is to sit near the castle gates and never eat, drink and sleep until your mind is changed, thus showing you my discipline and devotion to Buddha. To the Wise and Serene Thakur of Gaya, My lord, I have travelled far down the Silk Road, braved the land of the Seljeks, and crossed the Indus as Alexander before me, in order to speak with you. For the better part of my life, I have sought wisdom in philosophy, in the words of the ancient Greek and Roman Stoics of old. In my travels I had heard that, far to the East, there existed a religion that extoled virtues not dissimilar to what I deeply believe in... the teachings of one known as the "Buddha." Growing exhausted with the politics and schemes of the Byzantine court, I decided to set away in search of one who would teach me such things. I have spoken to many along the way to Pala, on whom in these lands is a truly wise teacher, and your name has been said a great many times. I thereby ask to be your student, to learn how one may rise above temptation and evil according to your Buddha. This is not to say I will solely rely upon you: as I said, I am both a student of human nature and practiced in the politics and scheming of a Byzantine court, and would be able to assist you in such crude manners. Regardless of what will come, I wish you peace and prosperity. -Rufus of Cappadocia _(Attached to the letter is a series of scrolls, the works of the philosopher Epictetus translated into the local language)_
Greetings Great Ashoka, my name is Alexander Lykoan. Though my use of your native tounge here is abit broken I feel I could improve it in time by coming to your court for a while. I come from Byzantium and so have been raised in the Orthodox faith. However as a fellow scholar I am willing to convert to the local faith since being open minded leads to great knowledge. I may have just turned 17 but I feel I could help you with many matters should you need it. My advice for you is that, should you see it fit, you should set out for the throne of Pala. It would help make uniting the area easier.
Something that would be amazing is A Grand mega campaign which stretches through the titles once we get more compatible map mods. That would be insane.
It will be interesting to see other people's characters coming to life, I kinda wanna see if a Christian Knight like a Templar from England/Holy Roman Empire to join. Would be interesting to see how the cultural and religious differences between the Templar and Ashoka's court will impact? And Matt, if you see this I love the videos. Way before you did the narrative battles back in Warhammer. I believe I started watching your videos since the SFO 2 - Kraka Drak Campaign and I would love to say, it has been enjoyable to watch you and the channel grow together. Keep up the good work!

All of your videos are good but the Nubian and this one definitely among the best! I’m literally waiting for an episode to drop!😂keep them up your amazing!
Thakur Ashoka, I've come from a far land east and I see a burning tiger inside of you. While warfare is a means to an end it is a brutes affair, pawns upon a chess table to be used to assert control. My Noble Thakur I offer my wisdom and cunning to aid you as Zhuge Liang aided Liu Bei as real wars are won not by swords, but with pens and words. I think we should push for the holy sites so eastern conquest should be defensive at best. Becoming a leader I think asking for independence instead of war could be a route. Oh please forgive my rudeness my name is Xu Bao "The Sleeping Dragon".
I was thinking of doing a similar type of campaighn due to people online using going heavy on warfare and playing in Europe. I intented to do it from present day-assam or Nepal, though I realised that I haven't bought the game, and would become addicted to it if I ever bought it. I would just listen to your playthrough in the meantime and am highly intrested to see how it goes for the forseeable future. :) Hope you have a great time making it as I would watching/listening to it.
Btw I looked up what suryavanshi means btw, both words surya and vanshi have different meanings, but I'd like to call it "bringer of light." Surya means "sun god" or anything to do with the sun and light in general. While vanshi means something like "to carry the generation". I'm not sureif you deliberately called your house this or if it was pure conincidence but still congrats on that little detail. It's quite fitting to your current playstyle. :D

A young man with in a clean white mundu enters the alluring royal court. His soggy face tells many sleepless tales. He bows down with respect and with smile his face, he spoke-oh my great majesty, I have heard of your dauntless tales that speak highly of you and your just and wise rule, I have always wished to serve under a enlightened guru like yourself. I hail from the south, beyond the banks of tungabhadra. From the great city of mahodayapuram, once a prosperous and proud capital of the kings of Chera dynasty, whom Iam rightfully part of. Now, usurped by chola tyrants from Kaveri. Clawed from my father, Krishnamurti the rightful ruler. They murdered my father and the people of the city. I had no choice but flee, I decided venture out to north and I wondered from place to place and at last, heard of you. I was deeply impressed and motivated by your faith and wisdom. So, I decided I shall serve under your command, the power-hungry cholas will surely invade the north and reach the holy river of Ganga. This time I will not be defeated, you can count my life on that, my majesty. I anticipate that you will accept my servitude.

Nee orru malayali anno :D
This is so cool, and just shows in it's purest form, how changing just one aspect of your playstyle leads to a radically different story. That and the attention to detail in this mod is phenomenal. I await the next episode excitedly!
I enjoy the balance between your narrative gameplay and optimisation. This new start is quite refreshing so I’m looking forward to see how your Indian Empire comes to fruition.
I have been looking forward to this campaign since you mentioned it in a older video. Your content is getting so good I wouldn't be surpised if you got a offer from Netflix to make a Netflix special. Good job Surreal
Wise Thakur Ashoka,
I hope that you are doing well on this fine day.
Your companion in the wheel of Samsara,
-Bhikkhu Padhya of Bodh Gaya
I do remember PartyElite losing a game in this area... hope you get more lucky Surreal! lmao
no luck, only skill :P
As a bengali. This makes me happy.
Your loyal steward

it would be so cool if one of these were turned into mega campaigns like imagine how nubia would react and adapt to the renaissance in eu 4
Buddha bless my lord.
I've not much of strategy, nor scholarship. Nor much of anything, but I wish to give my best regards for the future of this series!
-Some unknown peasant
I’m loving the feel of this campaign
Yoo, Bengali represent! Been waiting for a series on Bengal. The Bengal empire never were the powerhouse of the south-east continent. It's gonna be awesome seeing us become one!
Meh we were never really a martial culture.
@@SMellmYfEet1999 it's the weather. The Damp heat kinda takes all the fight out of you.
@@911beats 1857 sepoy mutiny? It was started in Uttar Pradesh, india bro. The only major rebellion that was in Bengal was the Sanyassi rebellion. It was done by Hindu and Muslim ascetics, not a military force. It was basically people attacking properties of jamiders and throwing rocks at British soldiers and officials. There are also other rebellions but civil unrests doesn’t mean martial culture. 71s independence war was a success because of India. And Rabindra Nath’s Indian anthem has nothing to do with “martial culture”
@@SMellmYfEet1999 it was started by the Bengal army of the British, doesn't matter where they were stationed at that time, mangal pandey was Bengali. Research Martial Race theory by the British and Why it was created, the Bengal was Always hostile towards the British as they were affected the most by there presence , including during the first partition of the Bengal. Its actually embarrassing that you claimed that bengalis had nothing to do with it, When before the independence war British used to Recruit most of there army from bengalis but after they stopped recruiting from them. All poems on revolution where made by bengalis at that time during the bengal renaissance.
from Nubia to India, Sander Graf is indeed IMMORTAL!
To the Good Sander Graf,
May this message find you and the Good Lord of the Thikana of Gaya well.
You Find Yourself a Stranger in a Strange Land Eh? Well I hope you’ve found good company in Gaya.
I’m a simple soldier and your Master’s house holds much wisdom. But I feel the need to speak my mind. If that is permissible.
One man’s house burns so that another may warm himself. I understand the focus of this realm is not military conquest, nor do I think it wise to expand rapidly without consolidation. But He who does not climb, will not fall either. We should, expand to the coastline past the Eastern Ghaks. And then consolidate our power from the strongest position imaginable against outside threats.

This has been really cool to see you role play a completely different character rather than war based. I'm looking forward to seeing what you get up to!
First time seeing a very modded game and I'm loving it. Tks for sharing the list on description 💜
Great start! Looking forwards to this campaign!
Surreal, your production valeu is getting out of hand man. This is amazing!
Superb video, one of the youtubers ive followed for the longest of times. Love that you adapt and change your content while keeping your basic things (narrating, total war ect…) keep going 🔥🔥🙌🏻🙌🏻
I look forward to the rest of this campaign!
An idea for a house motto "Through wisdom we strive"
To the Wisest of Wise
My Lord, my name is Sahmid Yidah.
(I've seen many a husband ruined by his scorned wife.)
May Peace and Wisdom forever rule your heart.
I like that you're differentiating your playstyle in your campaigns - it's always interesting to see what will pan out from that!
A soldier of the palace guard apriaches Thakur Ashokas throne room, kneels before might Lord and boldly starts to speak, without asking even a permisson: "Forgive me great Thakur of our land, for my boldness but please hear me out."
Ashoka as knowledgeable and wise hears his servants words: " I was born and raised in Deogarth with my father serving in the guard of the vile Laksmsurra. The day the vile Thakur fell and our city was liberated my father shed a tear and said to me: "Son the great liberator has saved us from a great tyrrant."
I laughed, since I was a young man and said that you'll be the same or even worse.
Palace guards rises, kisses the boot of the great Thakur and goes back to his station.
Sir as Italy have Machiavelli, Niccolò
China have Tsun Tzu
India have Acharaya VishnuGupta Chanakya
Love the voice actors as always. :D
Thank you so much for this new serie. It is always an honor to be with you in your campaigns. Long life 💪🏻
Wise Thakur Ashoka, my name is Gajadhar,a warrior and elephant tamer. Am here to inform you that the elephant pens you commissioned to construct is proceeding very well.
Soon you're able to field your own elephant riders regiment to stamp out unworthy rulers that stray far from your sagely judgement. And I do hope you will enlist me in that endeavor.
The way you make this videos are so mind blowing and ur voice sounds so deep man. Love it keep it up❤️❤️😜⭐⭐
Uploaded just in time for my dinner, thanks surreal
The goat of ck3 and bannerlord!!! And I love your intros
Good tidings sir Ashoka of the east
I come representing the Atelier merchant guild that has recently expanded in to Pala, we have rumours of people that the good Buddhist faith might like...removed after all war is not always the answer for there are many other ways to fell a tree.
If you would like assistance in removing or replanting these trees, our guild along with our informants will be more than happy to lend a hand for a small fee, after all many lives would be spared with wise use of our particular talents.

Thakur, I kiss feet:
The land of India is divided, broken, and scattered. We are open to attack, from within, and from without. Surely it is in the best interest of all people to spread just laws and the will of a just ruler over their lands? Such is the rajah dama, the ruler’s duty, to his people.
My Khukri, and my loyalty, is pledged to your service!

Council Advice: Oh! This Sander Graf is an Outsider. I dont understand why the emperor trusts him so much. Yogi Jai meanwhile is a giant fool for believing in a world of peace.
I mean no dis-gratitude to the emperor of course. I-i-i just belive he is being mislead by the council.
Af-f-ter all he is a representation of Buddha among us.
But for the peace of Buddha to come we must strive with the muck that is tr-r-reachery and warfare, of-f course without risking the lives of the emperor and his greatest councilmen (cough-cough), but THIS Sander he should be sent to the front lines.
great part one. i think naming heirs of your throne as well as heirs of some noticeable houses and persons after previous head is great way of tracking these. i really appreciated it in the african series.
That's a great idea!
Wow, sander graf still alife he is deffinetly a vampire.
Sorry for a bad english. I am Indonesian.
I have always been curious about how a campaign in India would look like and now my favorite content creator is doing it! 🔥🔥
*A man in his 40s, bald and with a moustache in a white robe approaches the castle of Gaya, for he seeks a word with the Thakur*
"Greetings, Thakur Ashoka. My name is Mahathi Hendhi, I'm a man of Buddha and I seek peace between all those who worship or lord Buddha's phylosophy on the world.
If you let me stay in your court, I will teach you and your family the way of Buddha and tell how great city of Pataliputra is in decline in the hands of a man, who sits in the halls where once great Chandragupta and his heir Ashoka seated, the holiest of men our lands ever knew. And let me say the darest thing in my life, the great city of Pataliputra should be in your rule. If you would decline my proposal, then my way would be is to sit near the castle gates and never eat, drink and sleep until your mind is changed, thus showing you my discipline and devotion to Buddha.
And until your decision is decided, I will reside in nearby temple for the time being. And I will pray for Buddha to bless your and your family's souls for the long rule and prosper of your lands."
P.S. Please also give him "Lunatic" trait
Are the one they call Ashoka
My name is Tulaar of Jagur, and as you guess, i am mongolian. The mongol ways have been tarnished by new islam led cowards, and to have peace you must ride to it. As a follower of Buddha, I am indebted to my swift steed to avoid fighting, yet i understand that to spread the way, we must push harder. I offer you my hand as the horsemaster of your land
First, what an amazing episode. I loved the fact that this story is being made with pure love, as a story well telling following its own personality
Great Ashoka I've heard you're reputation I am a humble apprentice of you're Gopala and would love to see you unify India as a peoples although we are separated by cultures and religion seeing us united would have made my father you unfortunately passed very happy and would assure that our mighty realm never falls
Yours Truly,
Aryan Kaur Lion of Gaya
Always heartwarming surreal, u did a great job! Keep it up. 🤩
Thank you so much 😀
House motto
"Salvation through wisdom, victory through faith"
Would love for Gaya to become a metropolis
Your ck3 campaigns are very accurate and pleasant can't wait for more ck3 man.
I haven’t watched this channel in a month or two. This has got me hooked again 🤪
Heyy! Welcom e back!
You are an absolute Legend, really enjoy your CK3 videos. Thank you from London, UK ⭐
Whenever you said Ahsoka I immediately thought of Ahsoka Tano from Star Wars lol.
To the Wise and Serene Thakur of Gaya,
My lord, I have travelled far down the Silk Road, braved the land of the Seljeks, and crossed the Indus as Alexander before me, in order to speak with you.
-Rufus of Cappadocia
_(Attached to the letter is a series of scrolls, the works of the philosopher Epictetus translated into the local language)_
32:10 that area was actually pretty famous for war elephants
I love the Indian Philospher king idea. Keep up the goodwork on interesting ideas I thought for sure you'd do the Mongols lol
Sander Graf 100% percent is a vampire.
First love the new way tour doing and editing your videos great job keep it up
Man I like this so far. Love the learning approach 👍
You are certainly on the right Path!!! What a fresh adventure!!
And because our hero is also on the path of enlightenment 😉
It sounds just natural his Motto should be : QUIET THE MIND, THE SOUL WILL SPEAK !
All of your videos are good but the Nubian and this one definitely among the best! I’m literally waiting for an episode to drop!😂keep them up your amazing!
Thank you!
if you want to build a utopia you should get a more building and building-slots mods so you can enjoy more types of places in your realm capital
I think adding unit models of ghurids from 1212 ad mod will be closer to the time period than using divide et impera unit models
There's only a few units that aren't Afghani in the 1212 mod. At least with DEI, it's all Indian units.
Tenali rama from the southern part of India as a council member.
I did a Siddhartha playthrough, high learning and all my children had 4 star educations.... i was quite surprised.
House motto: "To know something, is to know nothing". Paraphrase Socrates, because all one can truly know is that they know nothing
Just incredible! Can't wait for next part
Ngl I'm liking this new campaign. Very different from the usual campaign.
Hope you have a great time making it as I would watching/listening to it.
I would suggest Devdatta a name for your son. He was a disciple of Budhha and the name means gift of the God.
My suggestion for house motto: "Wisdom Through Warfare"
Btw I looked up what suryavanshi means btw, both words surya and vanshi have different meanings, but I'd like to call it "bringer of light." Surya means "sun god" or anything to do with the sun and light in general. While vanshi means something like "to carry the generation". I'm not sureif you deliberately called your house this or if it was pure conincidence but still congrats on that little detail. It's quite fitting to your current playstyle. :D
Sander Graf is a freaky eldritch demi-god,
Change my mind.
house mottoe:
"as high as honour" (house arryn of GOT)
"unbowed, unbent, unbroken" (house martell of GOT)
"family, duty, honour" (house tully of GOT)
House motto idea : "Conquer yourself before you conquer others"
really enjoy your new play style!
May the big wheel roll in the best way for you, pious Ashoka! 👍🙏👌
Loved the Nubia one hope this one is as fun.
House Motto Idea: Striving towards Wisdom.
Based on on the Buddha saying and your house goals.
