Thank you for this recipe- this was my children’s favourite candy we would buy in Walthamstow market in London - have being wanting to make it . Let try it out now . ❤
Mi juss mek some. I didn't realize that they should sit that long in order to set. The first time I made them was for my daughter's school and i remove them from the foil paper too soon. Great results today.
I had so much compliments on the drops I made following your technique. I did 2 cups each of coconut, water, & sugar and everything thing else you stated. That made 6 drops. I doubled the recipe and they are perfect, just like back a yard! Thanks you sooo much for sharing.
@@JerenesEats ok so I make for my daughter and she loves it thank you , also where I live my neighbor have a coconut tree so got it from them real fresh and it wasn't bone dry so it makes really good 😊 ty
I completely understand Karon 😄 I use a dinner knife as well but I wasnt worried because this knife is soooo old and soooooo dull. I wouldn't dare use my other paring knives 😆
No fancy shapes? Lol. Mi wonder if yuh can use one of those fancy shape things white people use to shape dem egg & make coconut drops in different shapes and sizes lol.
This is why I showed more than one way to do it. As a matter of fact there are even MORE ways 😁 Everyone does what they're comfortable with and however they feel safe

😔 I don't think we do a good job of handing down traditional practices. Thanks for the video. I love it

Your voice is so soothing! Every time you say “alright”, I think of my mother. Will be following your technique. 😊

Hello ,thanks for sharing.
I'm making it right now.
Thanks for keeping this drops authentic.
Thank you! Just wish I could find banana leaves here to set them on 😆
@@JerenesEats sometime you can get them in the Philippines store, the one's that sells groceries, ,have a good evening.
Nice. Thanks for the video. Can one use honey instead of sugar?
I've never tried it
Great recipe!!! Thanks hon
Thanks for this one
Doing it on wood fire and dropping them on the banana leaf is how they do it in the country side ifykyk 👏👏
That's Riiiiight!! Nicest way 😋😋
Mi a try see if me can pressure the coconut 🥥 half way
😄
Please do i chop my coconut thin or thick?
Depends on preference. I've had both
Nice 👍🏻
I’m trying this recipe now but just realized i bought Demerara sugar 😩 i hope it comes out the same! Thank you for sharing!
How did it go
You can heat the coconut low heat and use a table knife to take it from the shell .so you will not have an accident
I Eat them as they cool I cave wait that long 😂😂😂
So tempting!
How much vanilla do you put in? Is it really 3 1/2 cups of water? It looks less in the video. But they came out looking delish!!!
It's a large pot so 3 & 1/2 cups will look like nothing lol
@@JerenesEats lol, that's understandable. And what about the vanilla?
@latoyadavis1966 You may add vanilla to taste. I did add it to the description box last night. Must've slipped mi 😄
A LeCruseau pot is it good for this ?
I've never used my Le Creuset for this but I just might. It retains heat well so it should be good
You put salt?
Yes, tap the "...more" below the video title to see the ingredients

@@zolaguyah8071 what a blessing to get coconut from close by!!
How long do you boil the coconut for?
About 40 minutes. Less water = less boiling time
Okie
Foil paper can be use?
crissy samuels, yes you can
👍🏽
Thank for that video
Am making this now
How much water and sugar
Hi Delores, check out the description box below the video to see all the ingredients. Click the down arrow
Thanks 😎
It's because the sugar is dark that is why it look like that
We call this chip chip in Trinidad
The weakest point on the coconut is around the top. Tap it lightly round and round. Easy to break up into pieces from deh Suh.
👍🏽 👍🏽
Thank you so very much Jehovah’s blessings 🙏🏾🥰😘
WOOOW YUMMY ❤❤❤💗
New sub

Use a towel to prevent the knife slipping into your hand.
💯
Boiling sugar can burn baaaad
Yes man!!! 🔥🔥🔥
I use a dinner knife to take it out, I was so worried about you with that knife 🔪

Bad way to remove the coconut. Knife will cut you
Thanks for your concern.
