Square One TV is the prime reason (pun intended) why I loved math as a subject and became an engineer. As one of the commenters has already stated, this show puts to shame most of the modern day education TV shows aimed at young children.

A great way to teach math thru entertaining sketches. Synthesizer music during the credits every Friday afternoon. This show was ahead of its time. This show forced you to THINK. Now PBS has the gall to put out that dumbed down PEG + CAT bullsh*t, whose only good feature is a catchy theme song. Just bring back Square One TV and be done with it.
This show, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, and Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego? make me want PBS to have a TV channel that airs only vintage PBS shows from the 1980's and '90's.

Actually, it's more like Sesame Street meets The Electric Company meets 3-2-1 Contact meets Nickelodeon and MTV meets SNL and SCTV.
It's probably funnier and less juvenile than SNL.
I swore that Mathnet Friday segments took up over half of the show. I remember one that took up all but 6 or 7 minutes of the show.
