Square one was my son's favorite program. He is a professor in theoretical mathematics now. He learned the fraction at age 4 from the program. I have been looking for DVD of square one for my grandsons. I am so happy to watch this fun program which makes math so fun.
bro tell him to stop dowing the spilts
11:46 "The Chase! The Chase!" 🤣
A laugh track of adults laughing when it's only children in the audience. 😂
This is Lynne Thigpen speaking for "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego." See you next time, everybody!
Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? is one of my favourite children's game show. It was aired on PBS from September 30, 1991 to December 22, 1995. It was hosted by Greg Lee, and also starred by the late Lynne Thigpen and Rockapella. The contestants are from all over the United States aged 10 to 14, and compete for winning cases and to capture various crooks and Carmen Sandiego all around the world. They're trained to be gumshoes. "Greg! Let's go to the map!" "Do it, Rockapella!" "This is Lynne Thigpen speaking for Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego. See you next time, everybody!"
Very fitting Word on the Street segment, since Sean, Barry, and Elliott are all Jewish.
grew up on Reg E Cathey. Movies like Airheads and Tank Girl, but it was this one first.
Lost a ball signed by Babe Ruth? Check the neighbor's yard! But watch out for Hercules!
I always loved that song "8% of My Love", even if it is somewhat insincere. Although this show was made for grade schoolers, its enjoyment level knows no age limit. PBS should hang their heads in shame for taking this show out of circulation. Apart from The Puzzle Place and perhaps Zoom, virtually none of their children's programming have stood the test of time. And I'm willing to bet that the reason why intelligence is so low in the US is because people have forgotten about this show. So please, please, PLEASE put it out on DVD and do society a huge favor! I'll write the liner notes for free.
Did you get in touch with Sesame Workshop?
Carmen Sandiego appears to be the most difficult part of the game show. In any continent, not studied well, can be difficult, especially with the cities clusters of smaller countries. Boy, the boy still did very well. I appreciated the show with show as a child and I appreciate it now as an adult.
I wonder where are the contestants are now?
R.i.P Lynne Thigpen, she was an amazing Chief!
WTVS is based out of Detroit, Michigan
Being the only full-time NBC affiliate in Alaska at the time, KTUU (Anchorage) definitely aired Brains & Brawn, which didn’t clear Fairbanks on either KTVF or KATN.
I wonder what happened to kids who were on show where they now
I haven’t thought of this show in yeaaaars! It was on my recommendations I am over the moon in nostalgia ❤❤❤❤

Main reason I watched this as a kid was for Mathnet
I like to know how Alison managed to pull the batons out while the light was not showing as I've noticed the batons are notched at one end; so I am guessing there is something like a claw or clamp that holds the batons in place until the light comes on. If she has managed to wrench them out before the light came on then it must have caused damage to the Revolve that had to be fixed for the next show.
5:25-5:29 - Since when is 0 a multiple of 3? Since when is 0 a multiple of anything?
MATHMAN! MATHMAN! MATHMAN!
I remembered watching this children's show on television.
Didn't know Trev had used his allias on here as well (presumably no-one cared as he lost anyway).
Another good episode of The Krypton Factor. One of the last showings containing this music from Mike Moran and opening/closing titles sequence, it was changed in 1983. Thanks.
The music was kept in the first 1983 international special, but that was before the new series.
Superb! Love old episodes of The Krypton Factor. Cheers!
Noel deserved the win
I used to love watching this show even though I didn't understand anything that was happening. "Oh yeah, that kinda makes sense, awesome!"
Loved this show! RIP Lynne Thigpen

2:12 Where does the chief say Grunge gets his cologne from? It sounds like it was supposed to be toxic waste or something but that she might have flubbed the line.
I remember one episode where Greg tried to grow a pretzel crop in the Chief’s office I’d always a Thsts these things right here (pretends to eat a pretzel) and I’d either say mmmmm needs some salt or too much salt or too doughy
Half crossioant half pretzel. Mmmmmm needs more salt
Do it rockapella!!!
Holy Mesopotamia!
Ruby the elephant is so cute!
I have an absolutely ridiculous question, but it's just something I've noticed. I've seen some episodes of WitWiCS where ALL three of the contestants were boys. Have there ever been any episodes where all three contestants were girls?
0:58 Comedian Gary Owens (who also voiced Space Ghost and the Blue Falcon for Hanna-Barbera and also the announcer for the 60's/70's comedy sketch program Laugh-In) as Dirk Niblick.
15:27 Debbie Allen (Lydia from the 80's high school drama Fame) Love the Sesame Street sound FX Debbie's shadow is making 😆
13:32 Allison Smith (Jennie from the 80's sitcom Kate and Allie)
I've been meaning to ask for a while, and the research dive that I'm on here is as good a time as any. How did you come into possession of so many of the studio masters from this show? (And bonus, is there any way I can get a hold of these? Could so use these as a math teacher.)
I traded videos with other Square One fans, who had good contacts.
@antonspivack3928 gotta get these spruced up on DVD somehow. Meanwhile, hit me up, we gotta talk later.
@@SapinskiMath I had them on DVD but now I'm focused on digitizing my video cassettes. When I trade these days, I focus on file sharing.
@antonspivack3928 whatever works. Either way, email me later, I gotta get in on this
