@@ivo_bozeta_1 Oh! Yiddish in German is Jüdisch! It makes so much sense! In English, Yiddish just conjures up the image of Jews who settled into Northern Europe speaking a language somewhat a fluid mixture of German and Hebrew. But Jüdisch in German makes it obvious it is the language of the Jews, those who were exiled from the ancient Kingdom of Judah, ruled over by the descendants of king David and king Solomon, up until Jaconiah (Jeconiah?) and his brothers!
What a gem! From the historically most gloomiest places in Europe, perhaps in the whole earth; a blossoming fertile arc out of a withered, sterile, spiritually venomous land bending resiliently towards hope like a rainbow to the sun.
HalleluYAH. May you all be led safely home to New Yerushalayim and enter into eternity. Thank you for this beautiful rendition. Todah Rabah YaHuWaH Most High.

Though this song is in Yiddish, there are many beautiful Hebrew songs and prayers. If you really want to learn, there are usually free Hebrew classes for beginners at most Chabad locations, or at least they can help you locate a place near you to learn.
Beautiful song, incredible guitarist and soloist. However it was used as background for the incredibly shocking scene of liquidation of the ghetto in Shindler's List, a brutal contrast which makes me infinitely sad whenever I hear it now. I can't stop thinking about all the little boys learning their alphabet who never got to grow up.
I was in Kraków in that very spot during the filming of Schindler's list in 1993. This is Szeroka St., which was the centre of Kazimierz, the prewar Jewish district. The actual ghetto was on the other side of the Wisła. My mother and grandmother were survivors from Warsaw, my mother via Auschwitz, not far from Kraków. It is good to look beyond the horror, beyond the modern buildings and remember what was lost. My mother never got over her nostalgia for the Warsaw that was no more, and I inherited some of it from her.

Paz

The young lady doesn't know any Yiddish; her pronunciation is full of mistakes. The beautiful and expressive Yiddish language should be respected and cherished. It goes without saying that it should be pronounced correctly, especially when it is sung in public. The young lady has turned a beautiful and traditional Yiddish song into a mockery.
While it's true she completely confuses the accents, traveling between an Avara (pronunciation) that is Russian to Hasidic and then Israeli, I do not take this as mockery. She works with what she knows. Feel free to point out how to read it correctly. Most likely the Hasidic one of the correct one, and it would be amongst others, Koomets Alef Oo.
