    Around 6:00 you're talking about people getting the market exactly wrong, but of course we are looking at the ones who got their positions liquidated, so by definition these are the people who bet against the market. The ones who bet correctly don't show up on a chart of liquidations because their positions didn't get liquidated. :)

    • @marco9874
      @marco9874 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinking the same but wouldn't the line always be at 50% (approximately) if it's true what you say. Apparently more people are betting in the wrong direction as more than 50% is being liquidated in some cases.

    Thanks mate, these market primers are nice during key junctures / transition periods (e.g., quarterly close now, longer consolidations, etc.)
    I do agree that we were in a network bear market, whilst being in a quantitative range consolidation with existing participants. It actually gives me lots of confidence in the players already in the sandbox. Now we need the next wave of adoption!

    If such a gigantic long accumulation occurred since October and the price was still going down that much, wouldn’t that indicate that we’ve also seen an enormous amount of sell pressure outweighing the accumulation ? How does this fit into a hodler dominated market ?

    Something I'd like to see in the workbench tutorial is how to adjust both the range and 0 point of the y-axis. I am sure there must be a way but I have not discovered it. For example say I make a bar plot of new addresses or accumulation addresses. I don't want it to be huge covering an oscillator, or SMA that climbs up the screen. I want it to be towards the bottom where it doesn't cover up other things. Or, like with the "oscillator" made in this tutorial, how do I expand the y-axis range on either side of the 0 point so the oscillator becomes visually smaller, and then move the 0 point so that particular oscillator can be towards the bottom of the screen. It seems like there should be some sort of scroll bar and drag/drop for these things but I can't find how.

    • @glassnode
      @glassnode  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The easiest way to do this is to create a formula > Apply a constant that is large enough to 'push down' your oscillator (say 25) > and put this trace on the same axis as your oscillator (and make it white/black). This will make the maximum value that needs to be displayed on that axis larger and therefore squeeze your metric into the desired range.

    • @nicholassimmons9706
      @nicholassimmons9706 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@glassnode Thanks, what about in the case of a metric like simply price, or new addresses, where I don't want price to be covered by the bar graph of addresses? Just create a formula subtracting or adding an arbitrary amount to either until both are sufficiently visible?

    Do Kwon gobbling up BTC $125mill at a time to back TerraUSD about a week ago is what is mainly responsible. He's been buying on Binance and not OTC and just bought about $1bill and has about $9bill to go. He even taunted the traders to keep shorting. Looks like happy days ahead.

    I’m not sure if you’re properly explaining all of these charts. For The inflation chart sometimes you were saying that green bars below 0 indicated excess demand and other times you were saying that it was the bars above 0 that indicated excess demand.
    You said inflation rate of new coins is 1.8% and yet at most pouts in time supply is far above the 1.8%. Presently we are at 14%, so new coin supply plus 12% excess. And that is supposed to be interpreted as good?
    I think you need to clarify the logic and interpretation here and also with the presentation more generally.

    Looks interesting…fairly new to crypto…class of 2021.. still getting familiar with Crypto ‘jargon’, charts, metrics…etc
    Ques: when you use the terms… accumulation and distribution..
    do these ‘words/jargon’ imply Bullish and Bearish.. or can these same words have an inverse meaning based on a particular metric
    ..for us relative newbies, it would be most helpful to throw in the term ‘bullish or ‘bearish’..until we catch on to the ‘jargon’…something as simple as this, may well be beneficial to increase your ‘Glassnode’ platform subscription count

    • @animaze8043
      @animaze8043 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      These terms do not directly relate to the market sentiment being bearish or bullish, it simply means (typically) long term holders buying up/selling the supply regardless of the short term movements in the market.
      Typically, smart, patient money will buy supply when the market is overly bearish. On the other hand, impatient money will typically dump at whatever exit liquidity there is, thinking the market is gonna tank further.
      In my years in crypto, i found best success not trying to time the market, but simply spend more time in the market. Just avoid buying the top in the macro bull cycle and you are gonna be fine long term.
