Couldn't agree with you more Barrie. I have a 2012 model...BEAUTIFUL, Elegant, never let me down. I'm 63 and it's the best vehicle I've ever driven! Carry on in 2023 Barrie!
Great video, Barrie! You’re absolutely right - these cars are NOT unreliable. The people who call them unreliable are the people who buy one and then don’t look after it properly, causing things to go wrong. Then, they attempt to fix the issues they’ve caused by using cheap parts, which is totally not the way to go. Whether you buy one of these cars new or used, you must remember that these are £40,000 + luxury vehicles and you can’t just go cheaping-out (if that is a word!) on maintenance for them. They are a very well engineered vehicle and yes, they have lots of computer systems that can go wrong, but again, only if people don’t use/look after them as they should be. Jaguar Land Rover are very clever and they have built some extremely tough and well-built cars that really do last if kept in the right hands. I mean, do people really think that a car with the off-road capability of a Range Rover will be unreliable? Another thing is that many of the people who make these comments on the internet about Range Rovers being unreliable have never owned, or even sat in one and are just going off of what they’ve heard others say. Anyway, there’s my little rant for you! 😂
in the Motor trade we get people who want to buy the cheapest car for their money and not the best, these are the people who usually get caught out with badly serviced, badly looked after vehicles and then they are surprised when they go wrong and blame the car not the previous idiot owners and themselves for buying it
I've got the same model / year and have owned it since 2012 and it's never once let me down. In all that time other than routine servicing I've had a fuel sender unit replaced which was a few hundred quid. I often hear stories about the cars being money pits, but the examples I've seen and heard of have been cars that haven't been serviced or looked after. If thinking of buying one (I would recommend them) I would make sure you also have the money to have it serviced at scheduled intervals and if you do you should have a great ownership experience. BTW loved the video Barrie.
Great review of a terrific and well engineered car. I recently bought a lovely 2012 Sport as my daily run around. I love this car. Well engineered, as comfortable as a Rolls Royce and a commanding view of the terrain. Can't be beaten.
Really enjoyed watching this because I've not long acquired my first RRS. Its also a 2010 with the same colour combo as this one but with the 3.6 engine. So true about them relaxing you while driving, its amazingly quiet and wafts along motorways like nothing else I've ever driven and after 2 weeks of ownership (and driving past a stranded BMW in a flood last weekend) I'm already thinking I could never be without it.. definitely a keeper.
It's a lovely car and I'm looking for one of these but keeping my eye open for a nice and tidy Autobiography, I have been doing some research and I spoke to a local specialist and apparently these v6's did have problems with the oil pump, the casing cracks and eventually can lead to catastrophic engine failure! There is a fix for this and as long as that's been done by a specialist then there is nothing to worry about, I would imagine this one has been done because if it hadn't it most likely would not have covered 80k! It's just something to check if your in the market for one of these, Land Rover did resolve the issue on later models so this 2010 may have the update from the factory...No car is perfect all cars get problems but it's all about knowing what they are and making sure the work has been done to ensure the problem doesn't happen, generally with higher mileage cars its reasonable to assume that most likely the problems have been dealt with and also the big services have been done like cam belt etc, this car looks great and as Barrie says a great colour combo, Grey with the Ivory very beautiful motor...
Just took delivery of a 60 model. Always wanted a RR. Bought one with full service history with belts replaced. What a lovely place to sit and drive. Now the bad bits, 20 mins after taking delivery, my trip home as it happens, applied the EPB to be confronted with a scream, turns out the module has failed. Took it back and it is booked in next to have it's module replaced. Since learned the parking sensors don't work although they must have pulled a fuse to stop to bonging on the parking break so I dunno if that's connected and I have a warning for low coolant and the bottle is full.
In fairness not many people use the electronic parking brake so they can have a tendency to seize up through lack of use, may just be a sensor which has knocked them all off, but you should still have the reversing camera, there is also a problem with the coolant level sensors in the bottle on these, having said that they should have all been checked before delivery, so i would be careful especially if it turns out you want to reject the vehicle, keep a careful note of problems, dates and conversations with the garage, if they did pull the fuse(which i doubt as it would knock other things off on that circuit, but if they did thats a dirty trick and they would be capable of anything, hope you get it sorted to your satisfaction, and then enjoy trouble free motoring
@@BarrieCrampton I really don't want to reject the car. Not sure I made myself plain on returning the car the dealer was most appogetic and the EPB is getting repaired by them. I never checked the parking sensors so I'm unsure if they where working before I took the car back but I'll want them working when it is returned after the EPB is fixed. to be honest the dictator and queen thing is not great , the queen does not spend her money to fix the RR and she has mechanics that keep all cars in tip top shape , the same goes with the dictator thing
@@BarrieCrampton yes mine exactly but the problem is that people who buy used pay what 15-20k ? Therefore im sorry if anyone is offended but its reality , they are porer than the ones who bought new . And they can not comprehend the charges for something like this (for example my audi a4 b8 2.0tfsi timing was equivalrnt to 1200£ at my audi dealer , most people make 400£ in my country) and they either service with used parts or cheap mechanics . Then they complain . THERE IS NO USED CAR THAT DOES NOT NEED SOME SORT OF REPAIR IN A YEAR. Reliable does not mean no money . Your reviews are top notch thank you
thats just not true, if they were we wouldn't sell them. I think the problem is that Range Rovers cost quite a lot to run, fuel, servicing, road tax, insurance, etcetera and people buy them because they look fantastic and they want one but they cant really afford to maintain them, and they break down, so rather than admit to not looking after it as they should, they blame the car

We have had no problems with any Range Rovers, in my opinion so long as they have a good service history they are all good
Next year im 18 (im lebanese and in lebanon we drive at 18) This will be my first car i just love it i want the same interior and the exterior black but barrie do you think i should buy it for my 1st car or no bc all the people are telling me its for people who have familes and babies bc its a huge car
Range Rover and Jaguar XJ series or nothing..
Same as me I love range Rover
I wouldn't feel comfortable knowing about the crankcshaft issue - like a bomb that can go off at any time
Hope your not the baddie in that one baz and were convinced lovely motor mate
Car Dealers are always the baddie
Are they prone to DPF problems?
No I wouldn’t say so, we haven’t had 1 DPF problem
nice discovery
Love the review but bring back the beard Barrie!
the beard is back !
Do you sell these cars if so what is your website
www.ggcars.co.uk
Yes i do sell them
i love it and would have it today if I new cost
I believe in Allah that one day I will have Range Rover Insha Allah
17:45, you have a short temper Barrie? Oh we never would have guessed *Cough, indicator at roundabout cough*
yep, in my defence, there was no one behind me and I was hardly likely to turn right on to the roundabout, but to be fair that's not unheard of in Preston
@@BarrieCrampton no no I meant the Nissan that didn't indicate hahahaha not you pal
Proper car sales man Jesus stop talking please
Thats what the off switch is for, thanks for watching
Always makes me laugh, no content, no subscribers but feel qualified to give advice to others
Always makes me smile when they list the service history as mostly land rover dealerships which should fill you with confidence but no not me some snotty nose kid from Colledge still wet behind the ears, let lose on your prize possession is usually the case I'm afraid.
I agree, theres no point putting your best mechanics on no brainers
to be honest the dictator and queen thing is not great , the queen does not spend her money to fix the RR and she has mechanics that keep all cars in tip top shape , the same goes with the dictator thing
So what you are saying then is that if you service a Range Rover it will not let you down, that is my point exactly so thank you!
Your reviews are top notch thank you
What a beautiful truck I want one but I hear there money pits
they are no worse than a Mercedes or BMW, but make sure that you get one with service history
Sorry. they look fantastic i've always wanted one but would be frightened every time i went out in it.
frightened of what?
@@BarrieCrampton Something going wrong with it.
JOHN DAVIES nah, theyre as reliable as anything else, and more reliable than most
Did you start selling cars when you were eleven years old?lol
Yes
Barrie Crampton Fabulous car, that engine was so quiet. Cheers
Hey Barry
Hey Back !
Wait...what!? Did that cyclist ride past with a cat on his shoulder?? 😂👀🐱
yep, I know I had to check my dashcam before i believed it myself
What the hell did you just do with your keys?
I dont know, what did i do with them?
@@BarrieCrampton You know what you did with them Barrie!
threw them in the air?
I've made a note of your name I assume you trade under that name I'm going to look for you
our website is www.ggcars.co.uk if you want to check our stock

25:54!!! hahahahahaa
if youd have cracked on.. this could have been a 10 min vid :-)
They aren't the supercharged wheels
just going off the brochure www.motorologist.com/wp-content/uploads/2009-Land-Rover-Range-Rover-Sport.pdf
I wish I have Range Rover car
Seni.
very unreliable
thats just not true, if they were we wouldn't sell them. I think the problem is that Range Rovers cost quite a lot to run, fuel, servicing, road tax, insurance, etcetera and people buy them because they look fantastic and they want one but they cant really afford to maintain them, and they break down, so rather than admit to not looking after it as they should, they blame the car
