I' am a big Elvis fan. Hearing Tom Jones he has a great Strong smooth voice. Not Many singers I can think of Today have that feeling for A song ! I can think of One . When I hear you sing ,your Voice knocks my socks off ! 🤣🤣
Beautiful heartfelt song delivered with feeling as Tom Jones usually does. And I agree Dani, you don't get that from many artists today. And the art of writing letters as expressed in this song is pretty much gone too. I still have letters and cards my fiance, now wife, sent back in the 60's. Have a beautiful day!❤
You know, Dani, it's true. I have a dental appointment in a couple days and I'd rather be watching you. That's a joke (rhyme unintentional). But seriously, I think it's about time you really should look at something by Roy Hamilton. Elvis greatly admired Roy. Roy's first hit was You'll Never Walk Alone, 1954. The flipside of that was I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Cry Over You, which Elvis included on his first album. I also recommend Roy's Ebb Tide, and Unchained Melody, both of which, along with YNWA, The Righteous Brothers covered 10 years later. One of Roy's songs that I particularly like is A Simple Prayer (not to be confused with My Prayer, which is also good but hard to find by Roy). Roy's last hit was You Can Have Her, 1961, an upbeat song where Roy alternates between a softer dialogue voice and almost operatic belting voice. Roy also does a very soulful version of It's Only Make Believe, recorded about a half year before he died in 1969 at age 40. I may have mentioned this before, but since Roy widow didn't have any money, as Roy was in debt, Elvis covered Roy's hospital bills and funeral expenses. After Elvis died and they were settling his estate it was discovered that Elvis had arranged to have anonymous payments disguised as royalties sent to Roy's widow, Myrna, to support her and Roy's children. Those payments can continued until 2000.
You can't go wrong with Tom Jones. Outstanding vocal performer.
