Awesome interview. Massive fan of the band, actually have a change the world tattoo with an scarem song lyric. These guys have been an massive part of my life. Hopefully they make one more album.
My absolute favorite band is Harem Scarem. My favorite vocalist is Harry. It was interesting to hear his response on how his voice has changed over the years. I remember them doing an in-store autograph signing back at the beginning of the first tour in Halifax, Nova Scotia 🇨🇦 I have a tattoo as a nod to their song Warming A Frozen Rose.
Really enjoyable interview with some great questions and Harry Hess coming across as he always does, very honest, genuine with no BS and a clear understanding of what he's great at and typically humble about his own limitations and self reflection on the Harem Scarem music. I'm a totally biased 'fanoby' of Harem Scarem and absolutely love their music and the joy of seeing them 3 times at The Gods in Bradford UK years ago and twice at Firefest in Nottingham too. Would absolutely LOVE to see them live in the UK again and hear more albums but for all the sensible reasons stated in this interview the live thing sounds very unlikely and the next HS album sounds a while away too. Brilliant to listen to this thanks loads.

I have loved and followed HS for decades (!?) and they don't know how to write a bad song. However, as much as I love Pete's playing, the First Signal stuff comes very close to filling my needs. Harry is an insanely underrated (everyone says that about Pete but I never hear it a bout Harry). I can not say enough good things about Harry's respect and appreciation of his listeners. There are lots of us who will buy anything he is singing. Great interview.
Rachelle Ann Go is the name of the girl who sang a new rendition of your original song "Honestly" i hope you and her can meet soon. She's the Philippine's Pride! But now She's focus now on her International stint via Broadway and Theater.
Just got done re listening to Mood Swings and they did go in a little heavier direction but without sacrificing some of the melodic AUR sound to it especially with the track Stranger Than Love and their heavier tracks like No Justice
