I knew Richardson , he invited me to west riding sacks to have lunch with him and tour the company. I found him one of the unhappiest men I had ever met , he was egotistical, arrogant selfish but desperately unhappy . • @SpringtrapLover2010
      @SpringtrapLover2010 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@SK-vc4nh yeah theres so many similarities with Arsenals owners, Doncaster had players sitting doing nothing on 300 grand a week wages and spent 70 mil on 1 player. Arsenal have bad owners who just like The Glaziers take more out of the club than they put in, but we have a club, it's not like Bury who dont even exist because not only did there owners bleed them dry all the so called PL clubs sat back and did nothing to help. If every PL club put 1 million together no club would ever have that worry, you could save clubs like Bury and remove the people who destroyed them. Have the club being owned by the people who care, the supporters.

Small correction; Rovers beat Dagenham and Redbridge in the 2003 Conference play-off final, not Leyton. It was a golden goal winner!

Was about to pick up on this but guessed that somebody would have beat me to it. Only 'GG' goal to win a play-off tie in the UK (and probably any competition). Then 12 months later, silver became the new gold which totally befuddled the ref at Gay Meadow, after the Shrewsbury v Barnet second-leg had gone to extra-time.

Belle Vue, not the prettiest ground, did have a good atmosphere, even with only 3000 inside. I have even been inside Belle Vue when there was over 20,000 and that was special. Things at Rovers aren't great at the moment, a play off place at the end of this 2020.21 season is all but been thrown away so hopefully the right appointment of manager will be made soon and a quality team can be assembled during the summer to turn the club around.

Day 9:Please make a video about DINAMO BUCHAREST...The story of our club is a hard one...And you telling it can really help us a lot,our club is clinging to survival, and we raised 2 milion euros to try to save the club...
Dinamo is one of the biggest clubs in Eastern Europe,it has 18 league titles and 13 domestic cup titles...It reached the Champions League Semi Final in 1984 after beating the holders of the trophy Hamburg...In the Semi Final they played against the great Liverpool side of the 80's...After the 89 revolution the club lost one of their greatest generation after their players where bought off by western clubs, similar to what happened to the clubs in East Germany that you already talked about...Corruption and neglect brought this giant of romanian football to it s knees...At the moment Dinamo is preety much the ONLY true historical side in Romania's top division...This team stood afloat thanks only to it's fans...In the summer some new spanish chiarman came and bought the club, brought players on huge contracts and left without paying them...The players just broke the contracts and the club accumulated even more debt...If the fans did not step in and accumulated 2 milion euros the club would have been dissolved...For anyone watching outside of Eastern Europe it might be hard to understand it s value...If u re English imagine Liverpool being dissolved...This club is OUR Liverpool, and it's stadium OUR cathedral...With all the fears of relegation, players leaving and managers coming in and leaving the club still managed to fight it's way to a Romanian cup Semi Final...Please,make one video about our story too...

15:40 I enjoyed this but Leyton Orient weren't in the Conference in 2003, it was Dagenham and Redbridge that Doncaster beat in the Conference playoff final. Orient didn't get relegated to the Conference until 2017 after 110 years as a football league team. Great video otherwise, sorry to be pedantic!

Cannot believe Ken Richardson would do that to his own football club since he left Doncaster Rovers had a new lease of life once new chairman was appointed he listens to the fans as they wanted to return to the EFL and new chairman was the catalyst unlike Richardson

I remember that 97/98 season. They got beat 8-0 twice, and most of the players that were brought in were part-timers from the 8th and 9th tiers, who were seemingly on weekly contracts, and they'd play 3 games and then disappear back to the 9th tier and be replaced by another one. Think they used about 40 players. It was a mad season for Donny.

A similar thing happened to a football club in Colne, Lancashire - Colne Dynamos. Won the FA Vase trophy following major investment by a business man and within a few year went bust.

That’s right. They won the HFS Loans premier division in 1989/90 but their Holte House ground was deemed unsuitable for the GM Vauxhall Conference and after playing a friendly against Newcastle Blue Star that was it. The rich owner stopped paying the bills and they went out of business. They had some high earners playing for them as well. Alan Kennedy for example. I think a phoenix club rose from the ashes of Colne Dynamoes though. Colne FC.

Do one of Southend United FC and Ronald Martin. Because Mr Martin is literally causing such misery at Southend United and the fans want him out. But he won’t leave. And unfortunately Southend United are to be relegated from the EFL after spending 115 years in the EFL and are to be heading down to the National League (Non-League) for the first time in their history.

You have this video set to auto-generate the CC to Dutch, making the CC not understandable in English (it converts from the Dutch auto-gen to English). I've been seeing this happen a lot on YT lately. I don't speak other languages, so I pretty much watch English language vids exclusively, so I'm guessing YT has fucked something up on their end during the settings phase of the upload.

I watched a Donny game that season; They lost 1-3 at home to Brighton.. They had a new goalkeeper who turned out to be one of this Chairman's mates. It was the only game he ever played for a league team... and the thing is, he was Donny's best player that day

The goalkeeper was Dave Smith who was a neighbour of Richardson's sidekick Mark Weaver, the guy mentioned in the video who was made team manager despite zero experience. Smith's only football pedigree was the Manchester Sunday League.

Not as notorious as the ‘Fine Cotton’ horse racing ring in here in Australia in the mid 80’s,
when a slow horse,’Fine Cotton’,was supposed to be switched with a much faster horse,
‘Dashing Solitaire’,which looked identical, but was injured at the time of the ring in.So another
horse was found,’Bold Personality’,but this horse, unlike Fine Cotton, did not have white hooves,
so the ring leaders painted the hooves of Bold Personality just before the fixed race. The odds
on the supposed ‘Fine Cotton’ was heavily bet from 33/1 into 7/4 favourite.
Bold Personality, posing as Fine Cotton, won the race, but then the stewards notices that white
paint was dripping from the horse’s hooves, and that’s where the ring in unraveled.

I lived very close to the stadium when the explosion happened, it blew out some our greenhouse glass. The stadium had been shut a nearly 6 months following the move the keepmoat. A couple of travelers had broken into the stadium to steel the copper piping, unfortunately for them and the stadium, Someone had forgotten to turn the Gas off. Gas leaked into the entire popular stand structure. Which was largely made of concrete and steel. Whilst attempting to steal some more materials they used an angle grinder to cut pieces off. Causing a spark which ignited the gas causing a huge explosion which could be heard across the town. It killed at least one traveler and serverly injured another. Despite the explosion the stand largely remained intact. A few months later high winds caught the remain corrugated steel roof and launched it across the dual carriageway blocking a main route through the town, after that the popular stand was demolished.
