    I adore your book videos, especially getting to see your beautiful collection.
    I remember you had a video years ago touring the grounds of your property. That was beautiful. Another lovely video, reamce! I dont comment much anymore, but I've been a fan of your channel for so long now.

      Thank you so much for your kind words and for looking at my often ineptly made videos! I appreciate your kindness to me and I remember your comments because I always liked your user name!

    I'm sorry to hear that your father passed away! I remember listening with enjoyment to the story of when he bought you that edition of Gibbon's Decline and Fall.

    ahh the fabled shelf we see in many videos. Man those are all gorgeous books! And I agree about The Decameron, the stories were so entertaining. Funnily I first read the book back in 2019 when lockdown was about to be implemented so the book's introduction was really strange to read then.

    Always enjoy taking a tour of your collection. Quality of the video is unimportant lol. These books are too beautiful not to be shown off. Thanks again for sharing!

    Those are beautiful books! I read a lot of Gore Vidal, especially his American History novels and his essays, back in the 1980s. His books are only really available in paperback in the UK. I'm glad to see he's being treated with due respect by prestige publishers in the US!

      Vidal is one of my favorites. Thanks for watching!

    I LOVED the book review reamce!! They’re beautiful books. My daughter, who is 25 now, but has ALWAYS loved books. Now, her growing up w/technology, you’d think she’d be into reading books online or like a Kindle etc. But, no, she wants the physical book! I estimate that she’s probably got over 1000 books…& that is probably less than she actually has!! It’s most likely closer to 2000+. She’s a history buff, & a lot of different interests. I’ve always supported her love of reading & books. I’ve never gotten a book she’s wanted that she didn’t read. Books, & horses, & now college keeps her very busy!!
    I always enjoy seeing Toby! Please give him some cuddles & pets from me🐈??
    See you soon!!🫂

      I have noticed that most people, myself included, who actually love to read will not want to read from a screen on a Kindle or some such device. In spite of the alleged ease and convenience of reading from devices, it is actually far more difficult to read from one. I'm thrilled that their initial fad popularity has died off and in spite of insipid media stories about the death of books, physical books are still alive and well. Your daughter is smart!

    Gorgeous collection! And I loved reading Tristram Shandy, too. It made me laugh out loud in some spots. It's almost like a mix between Catch-22 and Monty Python, the way it has some seemingly unrelated, funny skits and goes off topic the way it does.

    • @reamce
      @reamce  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly! It IS like Python. Thanks so much for watching!

    Beautiful! I had to control myself with Easton so I only get their horror titles. Highly suggest their edition of Psycho.

    • @reamce
      @reamce  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Easton is addictive! You are so lucky to have their PSYCHO. I missed out on that one and it's nobodies fault but mine for being a slow poke. Thanks for watching.

      Yes! I also remember a video called Leather-bound Beauties or something similar, I used to watch it often. I think that's what made me start collecting leather books, especially because he said the Franklin Library books were better, that's predominantly what I collect.

    Great to see. Your old bookshelf tours of John Saul, TAN Publishing, Crowley, Jehovah Witness books, esoteric and grimores really inspired me over the years. You even did my “request” video of books you wouldn’t read again even if threatened with death aka “John Brown’s Body”. Hope you get back to doing those again.

    • @reamce
      @reamce  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh dear..."John Brown's Body." Now that one brings back some pretty horrific memories! If you recall my camera quality used to be even worse than my current camera quality so I AM slowly getting around to making new versions of the old stuff with the new and improved slightly better camera quality! Thanks for watching and hanging in there with my incompetence over the years!

    You've show so many copies of Ulysses over the years and I still haven't got around to reading it. You have a lovely collection. :)

    • @reamce
      @reamce  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching. Yes, I'm afraid my copies of Ulysses have gotten rather ridiculous but I can't resist buying more of them. I think it is an addiction! Thanks again.

    I have a collection of Easton and Franklin books. I'm thinking of selling my collection. Is now a good time to sell? Or should I wait and hold on to it?

    Are you a fan of John Cheever?

    • @reamce
      @reamce  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have only read some of his short fiction. I have not ready any of his novels and I honestly don't remember that much about the stories (not read him in many, many years and had forgotten about him till you mentioned him. I remember some of the stories from my long ago college years. I will track down some more of his stuff and give him a try since you mentioned him. Thanks for the tip my friend and thanks for watching my stuff.
