It’s back to 8. A week ago when I picked up my Y they cut my price by 2k and the 12k was cut to 8k.
After watching 5mins of this video. I used fsd to drive me to the market. 8 or so blocks away.
I picked up my 13 yr old who wants nothing to do with self driving…. On the to pick her up some ice cream… we made a deal… I made a deal… ice cream for one stretch of road. She said until we hit a light… even longer!!! I love it. She did some useful backseat driving Crossing guard off to the side waving for us to stop with a stop sign. Obviously stop… I’m going to pay the 8k. I bought it for night drives and her sporting events in “only god know where this is… New Jersey!”
Thanks for the video and the reminder.
Do you have an answer for the rear view mirror… I can barely see a thing. Old eye. Someone has to have created something for that.

We just completed a 1,390 mile trip back from Florida to Pa. I used FSD 99% of that drive primarily on Rt. 95 around Richmond, Washington and College Park MD. iT WAS AMAZING. I already have Enhanced Autopilot so I was already comfortable on highways. What blew my mind was FSD on crowded city streets, the new optics are incredible.
Wow, very impressed with how much more capabilities Elon’s added to the M3LR I picked up this past July. INCREDIBLE.
As a retired guy in his 70’s, it’s going to be a bit tough deciding on spending 6 Grand for this awesome new capability.

One reason I bought a Tesla at age 70 was with the hope that I would be able to let the car drive when I get older. It is not there yet, but this version of FSD is a major leap better than older ones. My hope if having a robo-chauffeur give me independence in my later years is seeming more likely. Hopefully, states will have a class of vehicle operator license for autonomous cars, when a person cannot drive due to age or disability.

I decided, it was an easy decision, to invest an additional $2,000 to have FSD on my new toy. I also firmly understand that like ALL cars I’ve driven, I am completely responsible for my car, passenger’s and most everything around me. It’s called Personal Responsibility.

FSD is GREAT ! Love it. Tesla should require viewing a short in car video to activate FSD.
Tesla needs to open more delivery / service / collision centers. You should not have to drive hours to get your car serviced or repaired after an accident. Northern Indiana is a Tesla desert with the only repair / collision centers being in Chicago. What a traffic nightmare. Tesla needs to plan out service centers like they plan out charging stations. You should only have to drive so far to get to one. You should not have to travel to the next state to get your vehicle repaired.
I know Tesla is trying to make vehicle need less service but accidents happen. Tesla needs more repair / collision centers so you do not have to drive to the next state to get your vehicle repaired. Having a large, delivery, service, collision center in Northern Indiana would spread out the overall service area.

I'd agree with that! When the traffic is busier here around the 5:00 time slot in IA, I found myself more worried how it's going to handle some of the situations the car got itself in - like being in the left lane when my exit is 1/2 mile up the road and there's a stream of cars in the right lane.

Great hands on demonstration for new users. I've been using FSD v12.3.3 and it's stunning. It still has to be supervised, but I've yet to see it make an error. If one uses it as the primary driver and acts as an observant copilot it's hands down a monumental step towards greater safety. It definitely drives better than most humans (sad to say).

One more thing that fsd doesn't do: If the start of your trip requires you to do a U Turn - fsd doesn't do U Turns. it requires you to take over.

    • @harryhahne
      @harryhahne หลายเดือนก่อน

That was true for older versions of FSD. But I have seen FSD 12 3 do U-turns beautifully, when the route required it. One time the route required an unprotected left turn across a busy divided highway. After waiting a while with no suitable opening, it turned right and then did a U-turn at the next intersection. This was the safest thing to do and it totally surprised me!

    • @ajc53

FSD is making great progress. Tesla should allow owners to add FSD to a second owned Tesla vehicle add a discounted price.
Someone that has purchased FSD should have a transferable license and be able to use it on multiple family vehicles.
Why has there been such a long delay to updating or refreshing the Model S and X interiors with the new ambient lighting.
Many people are holding off buying a new Model S or X while waiting for the new features. Why the slow roll out ?
The focus on FSD is great but the cars need timely updates to their features. The slow roll out hurts sales.
New features need to be rolled out promptly and not dragged out.

Been using FSD as much as possible during the free trial. I am amazed at how good it is. I also know Tesla is going to take the data and make it better. But, when the trial is over, I will not subscribe to FSD. It's still too costly for my budget and I'd rather just drive if I have to be on alert in the drivers seat. I tell people it's like being a driver's ed instructor!
Some things I've noticed: 1) It works in conjunction with the map. I have a couple of roundabouts and a store that aren't on the map. Coming up to the roundabout, it will signal like it's a standard intersection, but then realizes its a roundabout and traverses it fine. The store, it missed a turn and I had to go around the block. 2) It will accelerate quickly upon a green light, but stays short of the speed limit by 2-3 mph before finally reaching speed limit. 3) Coming to my exit on the highway that has a 65mph speed limit, it drops to 55mph as it tries to find the exit ramp, then speeds up on the ramp (which you covered in the video).
Overall, really good, but it's the small nuances of driving that it still has to learn and that's going to be the hard part.

    • @dj_stuber

One more scenario where FSD is not so good is communities, like mine, which had a long winter and all the painted lanes has faded and my car struggles on two-lane roads where the centre-lane is not visible. The car rides my middle of the two lanes, and when some paint appears it moves into a lane, but when the painted lane is not visible again, it moves to the center of the two lanes. This is problematic when a lane change is coming at the traffic light. I could be in the middle of the 2 lanes, and the car sees the Turn Right lane at the last minutes and swerves right to get into the lane. I do love the technology, but it would be much better once my community paints the lines on the streets, which could be 1-2 months away yet! Free speed is a problem as well, often going 20 KPH over the speed limit, as if the car knows that is how I drive it when not on FSD!! Cheers
