The Evolution Championship Series (Evo for short) represents the largest and longest-running fighting game tournaments in the world. For 21 years, Evo has brought together the best of the best in an electric exhibition of skill and fun. During Evo's flagship event each year, fans gather to compete in open format tournaments that crown World Champions.
The Community Showcase at Evo 2023 is an extension of the main event and features tournaments for beloved community games from around the FGC.

Love that these games still get played to this day. The games that got me into fighting games un the first place!
I have fond memories of playing cvs2 on xbox live over 20 years ago, it was the first capcom fighter to ever have online play. Those were some great times, it was such a fun game with such a huge roster, always nice to see people playing it today. I'd love to see it get a re-release but its unlikely because of the expired publishing rights with SNK

Sf6 is a fun and good game but I do wonder how many of today’s pros would still be pros if this was the premier esports fg. The pros that started with sf5 have never really had their execution abilities tested, as they would be in this game. Sf5 has a 3 frame buffer and sf6 a 4 frame buffer, making links all but guaranteed for even low level players. Make no mistake; this game is hard as all hell to play at a high level. The links require spending a lot of time in the lab and building muscle memory. Cvs2 separated the men from the boys.

2XKO has strong tactics but I doubt we'll get something that fills the void left after the world forgot about CvS2. Skull Girls is the biggest success story in the recent 2D fighter market with 10 million in revenue... 12 years ago...
It takes an average of 2,000 hours per character just to animate a single 2D fighter (and can be more if things go poorly in playtesting).
Unless there was some sort of massive Kickstarter campaign to fund an experienced team, CvS2 may forever remain the retro fighter high water mark.

They are most likely running the game with DCDigital installed.
How can I get this game in PS4?
You don't, unless you are on a low firmware version, learn to activate homebrew software on it, and use custom Playstation 2 injects for its PS2 emulator, which is the same awful laggy PS2 emulator from the PS3.
Good luck learning the game with an average of 6 to 8 frames of input lag because of poor deinterlacing.
Add about 4 frames more because oh boy, PS4 sure loves that sweet Vsync.
You're better off using an actual PS2 on an old tube telly in my opinion.

They’re not unbeatable characters. Bans only happen if the character(s) in question have 10-0 matchups across the board, which neither of them do.
Also even if they did, you’d still have to deal with Cammy, Sakura, Geese and Dictator still lol.
only thing the commentators do that does bug a little is calling the SF bosses; Claw, Boxer and Dictator... come on guys the game only puts their name by their health bar.... Vega/ M. Bison/ Bison not dictator, Vega/ Balrog not boxer and Balrog/ M. Bison/ Bison not boxer depending on which language you prefer the voices and UI display; it's the only thing they do that bugs a little
People have been doing it forever, especially when they're dealing with an international player pool and audience. Just makes communication a little easier.
