I’ve only used PC a few times. I don’t like working 15-16 hour days so if I don’t think that I can get out of the consignee in time, I reschedule for the next day, carriers use PC to extend your hours which is BS!
Damn! I've had a lot of inspections in MO in my 24 years and never had any problems like that. I got put out of service until I could get issues fixed but never a ticket for them. And I have never used personal conveyance really. While the officer was being kind of a jerk about it, you did use it improperly. PC can not be used to find truck parking. PC is for like if you want to drive to a restaurant on your off duty time. You can't just go from driving to PC cause you can't find a parking spot. It's stupid I know, but that's the rules. PC can also be used to drive home as long as you return to your point where you started you PC when you go back on duty. My honest opinion, avoid pc as much as you can cause so many officers see each situation differently and it's more of a headache.
Yeah it's just a gray area, better to avoid it as much. After watching a few videos online, one of them did mention what you said that you can use it to go to a restaurant. I'll def avoid it from now on.
Yup, don’t do PC unless your going to a Walmart or to a nearest Truck Stop to park your truck. If an officer/official ask you to move your truck after you parked, you can move it to the location he recommends. PC in the worst case, you gotta come back to the spot you started, in which case you can PC for 34 hours or whatever and you still good cuz you came back to the same spot. I’ll arrive at my consignee, mark my eLog arrived, go home for the weekend, come back to the same spot, finish my 34, and go about my business…
When you use PC, try to write down strictly which exits you took looking for parking. That way, he doesn’t even have to ask why you drove so long on PC, and it will be easier to fight the ticket in court as you were showing good faith from the start.
You don’t think a guy for bad info or personal conveyance cannot be used to find truck parking. You can actually stay on duty and go to the nearest truck parking don’t go crazy out there but that would’ve been legal PC means you’re trying to get away with something
This is why I don’t drive past 5 pm unless I know where I can park safely after 5 pm. I would tell Werner that I couldn’t make it that day if they wanted me to deliver after 3 pm, unless I knew that the consignee was quick at unloading. Mostly drive the early morning hours. Werner cannot run you after 5 pm, if you start your day at 3 am.
You will need the have s-cam seals replaced. When you over grease the cams they are purging grease onto your shoes. Over greasing will soon get you back into the same situation.
I'm glad i retired before e logs government got involved to much in trucking making it a job instead of a career but now I'm homeless in Amarillo Texas on social security
As an owner operator I spend a huge amount of time laying under my truck and I've had fingers on literally every bolt and for one of these cunts pull me over and just take one peak and find something to cite me for I say bullshit show me. Make sure you take a video and ask them to explain because in these situations you are still a person and you must still exercise your rights. Some guy who doesn't know shit about a truck can't just cite you just for something to do and not be questioned about it in the end you will deal with this citation
I agree with every word you said sir, I think most of us just get scared of speaking up & end up accepting the guilt & fines as we don't want them digging more stuff to fine us on. I'm definitely going to record them next time
You need to find a lawyer that can fight for you fight to get these tickets and violations down Google CDL Consultants!!!!! They helped me you need to have a clean record to continue working FYI PC you can only use about 15 to 20 mins about once or twice a week as Far as the Dot is concerned
Not necessarily true. You can use PC however you want as long as you're not advancing a load, using it for work related issues (truck washes, shop for maintenance or repairs or being simply under dispatch). If you operate under your own numbers you have extreme discretion to use PC as long as the noted items aren't applicable. Going to the gym, Walmart to shop, haircut, picking up kids or going to a park for R&R is "personal" not work related. But if you're leased on to a carrier and not self dispatched meaning they use a TMS to dispatch you PC is hard to justify. Just make sure you note it as "PC non dispatch". PC looking for parking is "work related" to trucking and is a violation.
i guess doing pre-trip is only a option for this guy how do you miss 3 wheel seal leaking so much that the brae are soak in oil ... plus doesn,t know how to really use Pc drive... get your shit together you giving us good boy a bad name
This trucking business is a joke, you can’t make money because the dot wants a pice of your pay and also with all the compliance needed more of you hard earned money to pay for these dues. And they want equipment to be new ? Lots of people have work thanks to you at your at your experience. Mechanic, parts store, dot personal, plus office pp from the compliance dues that don’t do anything other then collect your payment, dispatcher, factoring. And more.
O/O's are definitely underpaid in my opinion. We try to save anywhere everywhere we can mainly for the unexpected breakdowns. Had we got paid really well, we'd have no problem trading in our old truck for a new one every few years
You grease you truck too much........come on bro! I've been running the same truck/trailer for since 1989, and never had grease get on the brake surfaces. you know that you had bad seals and the DOT guy was like,....sure, OK grease.......here's you OOS. I'm no fan of the DOT and for the most part if they find leaks like that or visible play on a u-joint,...it's probably pretty bad. Do better, handle your equipment better.

Lol you ain't lying, PC is terrible

Thank you for that information..helps with my knowledge, if incase i have to use PC again, I'll do what you mentioned which definitely makes sense.

I didn't know that but mistakes were made. Now I know 🤦♂️😂
damn dude that alot of grease on that brake shoe . are you using a powered grease gun on them scam grease fittings ?
Yes powered grease gun 😬
For your information too much grease is bad to eat. I’m not sure how the grease would get on your brake pads.
Avoid the cheap brake lining go with the heavier rating brake pade 22,000#& higher.
Will do , thank you sir
You going to keep hauling cheap freight now?
He don’t got no choice, all the freight rates a low as they can be.
Hire lawyer and fight for this tickets
Thats why after 28 years i stop driving i sold my 4 trucks i don’t think i will drive again
I'm glad i retired before e logs government got involved to much in trucking making it a job instead of a career but now I'm homeless in Amarillo Texas on social security
Damn bro sorry to hear you got jammed up out there.
Damn , how much did that set you back ? The repairs on the road ?
Actually it wasn't bad at all, mobile guy gave me better deal than Loves
At this point it's not even worth stopping at a weight station
Right. Better to go around if you can
Always do brake drums and shoes, old drums wear the shoes faster
Dont forget..driving while being brown in Missouri

@@willmann30 💯 agreed. I check log books regularly and 1 of 20 drivers use pc correctly. In my opinion it's cheaper to use uber
