Animal is a path breaking attempt to show that even a A rated movie with no pleasing content (socially and politically) will do good with there is consistency in character arc.
@@lamelizard-wq7yoSee, 880 crores BO is irrelevant if we purely speak of critical acclaim or how good a movie is. Many (not all, still not few) commercially successful films in Hollywood and Indian cinema were critically panned, meme-materials & vice versa. Moreover, AK's praise as a daring, IDGAF attempt doesn't necessarily make this a good movie to me. AK's Gangs of Wasseypur (n many other I might hv missed) already did that in Bollywood (A rated, raw, uncompromising, n successful). Even films like Raktha Charitra (Telugu, Tamil, Hindi), Satya (Hindi), Rocky (violent A film in Tamil), Vettri Maran's films (Viduthalai, Vadachennai), Iratta (n MANY other Malayalam films) were all IDGAF films. My problem with Animal movie was not just the adult or "socially immoral" content, but the lack of logic n relevance. This is not necessarily an underworld gang war, how do they have a million weapons? why are there no police in the town? (he publicly speaks that he is gonna kill people, all his staff clap for him??) Most of the violence and adult scenes (gun in a clg, underwear scene n unnecessary adult dialogues, hero smoking after he miraculously recovered n still alive?) didn't blend much into the story to make sense. The love track was absolutely cringeworthy. The fathr-son track didn't hv enough logic n emotional backstory, n after a point, didn't connect with me. If only the violence was backed with enough screenplay story n logic, the conflict isn't strong enough to hold r reason why n how these characters chose violence to THIS extent.

One of the plus point of our industry is our audience...most of the time they surprise me. When Bramayugam announced i was curious how people will go and watch a black and white movie this period of time when directors try to make frames of their movies more colour full...that movie opened for 6cr ww and reached 50cr now... @@Kichdy Yeah, but it true that due to constant supply of slice of life and feel good movies in malayalam for past many we ourselves are bored. We are also craving for big entertainers which seems to be happening this year.

Malayalam cinema encounters similar challenges. Despite a few recent consecutive hits, the landscape remains unchanged. OTT platforms and other budget-friendly youtube /other medias contribute to the industry’s woes. As a Malayalee working in Bangalore, I find that a family outing to a PVR theater costs around 1200-1500 rupees, while a year’s subscription to Netflix is 2400 rupees and Prime Video is 1500 rupees. Given the lack of quality content, why would we opt for movie theaters? Although Malayalam content is superior in terms of quality, the business side faces hurdles. Few major producers remain, and now stars and creators take on producer roles. Traditional theater owners/producers must innovate to survive
Bulk of movie budget should not go to just stars, if so then very little value for audience because other technical aspects will suffer. Only if we give more importance to script the value and quality of movies will improve, just star value alone won't last forever
Vanakkam,fr Malaysia Tamilan...In Malaysia, many Malay people prefer Indian films over their own because of the realistic storytelling in Indian cinema. If Tamil films continue with the same genres, they may struggle to compete with the Indian film industry, which is growing in the world market.
I stopped wafting cinemas in theater because of excess garbage. Even that i watched good night, parking in theaters because of its feel good content. Movies should pull people to theaters. Good topic kichdy.....
What Parking is a feel good film 😵💫 please refrain your cinema genre Parking is not even close to a feel good film and even in the case of Goodnight its just coming of age film not Feel-good.

What's ur opinion about Telugu and kannada? If your directors don't provide good stories will you watch Telugu and kannada rather than Tamil, English and Hindi? Just asking
Yes if it is dubbed to Malayalam because most of the malayalis can understand Tamil but not Telugu and kannada language. The perfect example is KANTHARA it's a one of the most collected film in last year(is it released in 2023 or 22 sry i forgot)and my fav too@@bipash_9720
@@bipash_9720Yes, if a movie is good and dubbed into Malayalam, many people will definitely try to watch it. A perfect example is "KANTHARA," which became one of the most popular movies in Kerala in 2022 and happens to be my favorite too.

I think there is nothing to question about Tamil Cinema Industry. Tamil cinema has its own fine movies and strong points. The Malayalam industry saw one of its worst runs at the box office last year, and even these movies didn’t receive critic support. Can’t say Malayalam cinema is doing right every time. I guess bilingual movies can somehow help Malayalam movies to garner huge numbers at the box office while still maintaining their realistic storytelling. It's important for the industry to adapt and explore new avenues for growth. Manjummel Boys have opened the door for huge possibilities for the Malayalam Industry, and I can’t wait to see what comes out of this integration between the Tamil and Malayalam industries ❤️❤️

Thank you for accepting malayalam movies.. Malayalis always celebrate other industry movies especially Tamil. We always look for content and making of the movie. Malayalam movies are stories that are basically feel good movies. You need them once in a while as they keep you in touch with reality. Tamil movies are a mixture of life, ups, downs, fantastical, comedy, and emotional. Remember, it’s the same tamil film with these mixture of stories that were pulling malayalam youngsters from early 90s to mass cinema. Vijay, Ajith,Surya, early 90s film were really a mass hit with the youngsters in Kerla. Afterwards, Siva Karthigeyan, Danush, Simbu continued the trend. There is definitely talent and good directors in Tamil it’s just that we are not giving more chances for tamil writers to create stories. Too many directors want to direct but don’t have good stories with them. They need to give respect to writers and start giving them more opportunity to them and good films will come along they way.
Tamil cinema is stuck because of star movies star based cinema Heros getting high salary and story less expect some directors like Manikandan ( Kadasi vivasayi ) More over Malayalam cinema collaboration with writer 📝 Small budget & Reality of life The simple story connecting to slice of life Malayalam cinema doesn't celebrate stars they celebrate Their story recognition of writers collaboration by Team They never see Cinestars as actors not Politican where tamil cinema heros to become Politican & Tamil cinema business high for star movie but not small budget promotion less more over OTT platform The story & Screenplay is hero of the movie Audience connect Nativity story Reality of life Connecting to common man financial is important Ticket price cost decides the movie watching in Theatre Randy bro Excellent analysis of Tamil cinema vs Malayalam cinema 👌
Malayali audience support their writers. Padmarajan, MT Vasudevan sir, Lohithadas & the commercial movie writer Dennis Joseph all are writers who are quality peak any where in the world. They've written scripts of all genres & still became successfull.

Even malayala cinema also used to go with the trends Larger than life mass characters became a trend in malayalam in early 2000's, Shaji kailas and joshiy started the trend with movies like Narasimham, Praja and everyone went behind that trend and towards the end of 2k's malayala cinema lost it's orginalily completely, after that from Traffic new wave of malayalam cinema kindof started and was carried on by some talented new directors Even the same trends going on now after drishyam and memories became a hit some 20-30 thrillers came and finally we got saturated Same thing happened in 2023 One of worst yrs for malayalam movies when everyone went behind contentless natural movies which prevented ppl from going to theatres
Mammootty , real Super Star of Malayalam industry even th is age of 72 acting in very good experimental movies having Very different themes and charactors💪
Surya made so many path breaking movies, but audience were reluctant to change their view. Even Varanam Aayiram was not much accepted in Tamil Nadu as I remember but Kerala celebrated the movie. Then singam came and it became a big hit. Honestly speaking as an audience it’s nothing less than torture to sit through Hari or SIVA movies. And recently Subbaraj’s xx was awesome. But that too didn’t get the appreciation it deserves. Four movies which were exceptionally good, Surarai Potru, Mahaan, Sarpattai Parampara and Jai Bhim. Tamil cinema is in a problem. Must address it. Then only it can change. We had very phase in Malayalam industry as well. Can’t judge entire industry by the performance of last two months.
One thing Bro missed out is...in tamil nadu it costs 500 rupees for a person to watch a movie with a ticket and food..but in kerala 200 rupees is a lot, ticket for 130/- and food for 50 rupees. Now we will eat food and watch movies..... Money is not the problem here. They are good movies. Moreover, if you want to succeed here, you have to make a good movie..85% of the movies released in Kerala fail...
Personalities like Kamal hassan, Siddharth, Aval movie director, Game over movie director , Sudha Kongara,Mysskin and other script writers who are true to the work can surely uplift Tamil Cinema by their effort...But above all 1.Support from audience for encouraging such films is must..Only then a producer will believe strongly on a new genre script and invest money to make it to the big screen..This will give confidence for new comers to take ample time for developing a perfect script and approach a producer without the need for any commercial masala compromise !!! 2. So called big stars should be ready to experiment with script (Thats why very few actors like kamal hassan, Fahadh Fassil, Mammoty , siddharth, Vijay Sethupathi shine like a diamond even when there are no songs, fight and other masala stuff !!!)...Just go and see each person's filmography...u will be amazed by their script selection..

Many people liked that movie.that is why it is a huge box office success and getting all such awards.
@@karthikajay3091 Not like that ! Bollywood have worldwide distribution so even flopped movies of all khans & other top stars will have more than 100 crores collection. Content > BO
@@arrshathanimal collection is 880cr+ and for context critically acclaimed director like Anurag kuysap appreciate animal for his IDGAF nature fir god sake understand Animal is a A rated movie which stick to its character tureness without compromising to please incels audience that why Animal is raved and got awards.

Great topic to analyse, Stardom factor in TN cinema is impeding creativity and forcing repetitive themes that have low potential for creativity and innovation.
One of the plus point of our industry is our audience...most of the time they surprise me. When Bramayugam announced i was curious how people will go and watch a black and white movie this period of time when directors try to make frames of their movies more colour full...that movie opened for 6cr ww and reached 50cr now... You may say it is because of a mammootty film but even mammotty have movies which is not even crossed 1cr...
I think actor surya was good

Last year was a bad year for malayalam cinema as most movies were disasters. We malayalees were pointing out how great movies were tamil, telugu and kannada making. Tamil movies has much fan base in kerala. This low phase of tamil cinema will change soon and more exciting movies will release.
Yes, But still some good films came..
@@Kichdy Yeah, but it true that due to constant supply of slice of life and feel good movies in malayalam for past many we ourselves are bored. We are also craving for big entertainers which seems to be happening this year.
Last year was not bad for malayalam cinema...
1)Romancham ( horror comedy thriller movie)
2)RDX (one of the best fight movie in india)
3) kaadhal the core ( lgbtq topic)
4)2018 ( related to floods and nominated in oscars )
5) falimy (pleasant family movie )
6) kannur squad ( investigation thriller )
7) nanpakal nerathu mayakkam ( fest movie with a very unique making... Best movie but collection is less )
Yes last year a lot of flop movies were there... But they were not highly anticipated movies or with a great content.... Yes a lot of them was flop... But these 7 movies are enough....
In tamil the best were :
1) por thozhil
2) viduthalai
3)mamannan
4)good night
5)jigardhanda
6)chitha
7) jailer
8) leo
So a slight upper head was seen in tamil cinema... The only reason i mentioned leo is the love towards my thalapathy...
Still kollywood was 1 step ahead... I admit that.... But look the variety of movies that mollywood has.... 👍
My fav movie was romancham and viduthalai...❤
So it was not bad year for malayalam cinema... We had a lot of good movies which were best in 2023.... Quality matters more than quantity...👍🙏🙏
This year... Every movies were amazing .. now its time for " aadujeevidham the goat life"... I have been waiting for this movie from 2015....❤ March 28th gonna be special.....❤ I request my tamil brothers to watch and support that movie....

Mathiyede.... Swayam pokki pokki nashippikkalle....
Super randy.... correct time la nalla topic eduthu pesi irukinga.... hats off pa....indha madri videos panunga
Bulk of movie budget should not go to just stars, if so then very little value for audience because other technical aspects will suffer. Only if we give more importance to script the value and quality of movies will improve, just star value alone won't last forever
Agree 💯, malayalam movies gives a nostalgic feel, tamil films became more raw and unrealistic.
Thats because of fans🙏

As a malayali i think malayali audience watch almost all movies like malayalam movies nalla vartha sonna kandippa athumari tamil i watched plenty of tamil movies even in my childhood that too tamil itself also almost all good reviewed hindi English movies all allu arjun movies so they got all kind of movies almost every one in kerala so our writers directors forced to make their movies well because malayalam movies don't have wider audience if they don't provide we watch tamil hindi
Nan paraya vandha visheyam tamil audience mostly depend on tamil thats the problem i think

Malayalam And Marathi movies are underrated

Even malayala cinema also used to go with the trends
Larger than life mass characters became a trend in malayalam in early 2000's, Shaji kailas and joshiy started the trend with movies like Narasimham, Praja
and everyone went behind that trend and towards the end of 2k's malayala cinema lost it's orginalily completely, after that from Traffic new wave of malayalam cinema kindof started and was carried on by some talented new directors
Even the same trends going on now after drishyam and memories became a hit some 20-30 thrillers came and finally we got saturated
Same thing happened in 2023
One of worst yrs for malayalam movies when everyone went behind contentless natural movies which prevented ppl from going to theatres
Plz watch other best malayalam movies : Bramayugam, Premalu, Anweshipppin kandethum
As a Malayali, I find your Tamil presentation very pleasing. Good luck with your future work!
2023 bad year for Malayalam movies . But all time biggest start in 2024 especially in February. Consecutive hits in different genre

Personalities like Kamal hassan, Siddharth, Aval movie director, Game over movie director , Sudha Kongara,Mysskin and other script writers who are true to the work can surely uplift Tamil Cinema by their effort...But above all
1.Support from audience for encouraging such films is must..Only then a producer will believe strongly on a new genre script and invest money to make it to the big screen..This will give confidence for new comers to take ample time for developing a perfect script and approach a producer without the need for any commercial masala compromise !!!
