I'll never understand people shittalking this movie, this is not a story about the moon landing, it's a movie about the person who went there and how incredibly brave, tough and, let's be honest, a bit insane you have to be to undertake such a journey.
Honestly it’s quite surprising how calm they sound in the communications with the mission control. I don’t think i would feel so well knowing the vacuum of space is only a few inches away
I only had enough for 1 movie ticket at the time so I decided to watch Bohemian Rhapsody with the thought of watching first man the next day, I went back and it was gone!
This movie may be the Masterpiece of the 21th century, it’s too perfect, the shots, the zooms, the rockets sounds, the emotions it triggers, the absolute perfection of the chosen cast, and of course, this music. This is Motion Picture at his pinnacle. Don’t let this movie style die 🙏
It’s also epic for where its silences are. Modern movies would have music plastered over some of the scenes, but in this one there are moments you can just enjoy the silence. It’s deeply touching.
This movie was outstanding. I grew up outside of Edwards AFB in the 70s not far from Niel’s cabin in Juniper Hills. The soundtrack is amazing as well. When I was a boy my father brought me in to meet with David Scott the first man to drive the rover on the moon (Apollo 15). Dad said I had dozens of questions in mind but completely froze up when in front of Dr. Scott. These men were hero’s in the truest sense of the word and I like how the movie brings out so much of their sacrifice. They succeeded against impossible odds.
How incredible you are so lucky to have met one of these heroes of mankind! It is at this point so underestimated the achievement and sacrifice of these men and families! Truly remarkable.
robbelliii i really appreciate the things that you have said here...so was it true that US landed first on moon in 1969 ? Or was it as the conspiracy theorists say...not true?
The first time I saw this movie during the final crater scene, where he trows the bracelet, I though about my father who left us at age of 46. I had just turned to 24 and now that I am 40 still have his watch. It doesn't work anymore but I can't rid of it. Since he left, I can't cry in front of anyone. That's why I think this movie was inspired by the deep pain of the human being. Difficult to explay, premature pain. This pain never leave you. It's like a boulder. One can only cry in the dark..on the moon or in a dark cinema hall..
Yeah I feel you, the movie shows how human can still stay strong in the most difficult and painful times. It's so inspirational.Keep going and never give up :)
I love the delicacy of the theme played on the harp. It's so gentle and melancholy, nothing like the kind of score one usually finds on a movie about space.
I would erase this soundtrack from my memory in order to have opportunity to listen to it the first time again!.. That’s a masterpiece!.. God Bless You Justin!!!

Something about humanity finally being able to successfully land on the moon after everything the first few astronauts went through and what Neil Armstrong had to go through felt super emotional. It literally had me in tears. That’s when I knew, that in a weird way this was not only one of the most important parts of history. Went to see this twice in theater. This and Blade Runner 2049 were two of my favorite movies I've seen recently. I also watched Drive, and Lars and the real girl for the first time awhile ago. "He came in the other morning, he did. He comes running up and says, 'Daddy, if you go to the Moon are you going to be lonely out there... so far away from the Earth... all of us back here at home?'"
Thank you for this great mix! One of the most suprising movies I saw. Not a movie about greatness but about the personal life of a remarkable person who had to deal with so many burdens. A true masterpiece derserved more awards but not a cup of tea for entertainment seekers. Glad I saw it, I'm an experience richer. :)
You couldn't of put such a beautiful musical together with the pain that he lost when his daughter passed away! Leaving her little beaded bracelet, on the moon!
Many people are pissed that the movie didn't show the astronauts planting the flag. So many wanted to boycott the movie because of that. I find that completely stupid.
"We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win, and the others, too." - John Fitzgerald Kennedy, September 12 1962
What a great underestimated film, and a fitting tribute to all those NASA people,Neil Armstrong a very quiet man, chosen as he had no ego,a mission patch without their names as there were too many involved, and an an olive branch for they came in peace. The greatest achievement man has ever done, I knew it then at the time as a 10 year old.
Absolutely insane perspective about the moon race. how many dead people, hoy many hearts broken. first man on the moon was totally a war. The movie, the story, actors and the music best thing about space I’ve never seen.
I'm just a guy in my late 50s crying to this music who was lucky enough to watch the Apollo Moon landings & to understand the reasons why it happen dating back to the 1930s.
First Man moved me in ways I can't even begin to describe. It exposes something deeply and truly honest about the lengths that humanity can go to explore, to overcome our failings and to eventually achieve catharsis.
First Man still remains a very underrated masterpiece... ever since it came out in theaters. I loved this movie ahh som much. I still can't believe it didn't win best picture, best director, best score, and among other awards... it doesn't take away from the fact that this film is a masterpiece.
Finally a movie with a beautiful memorable music theme. This is so well made. Interestingly, upon hearing this in a movie - I thought that it was created by Daft Punk, as they are the fans of these sort of arpeggios, similar to :Tron Legacy" Flynn theme.

I feel like I've been put to rest by an angel. This definitely touches my soul and opened my eyes to the beauty of emotions, music, and the Universe itself.
This theme relaxes and reflects the things of the past
This song is capable of make me remember a lost loved one and make me imagine an epic landing on the moon AT THE SAME TIME.

I had my atmos 5.1.4 soundbar turned up at 7:09, my God was I in awe....
@@raulduarteiii Shitty soundbars lol. I had my Klipsch Reference system and SVS subs cranked up
"He came in the other morning, he did. He comes running up and says, 'Daddy, if you go to the Moon are you going to be lonely out there... so far away from the Earth... all of us back here at home?'"
You can just listen too this and think of the good times and flash backs just come too you❤beautiful
My favorite Damien Chazelle film. I know many people adore Whiplash and La La Land but I actually think he matured as a filmmaker with this film.
They're all fantastic!
It's funny how the song sounds very fantasy inspired, yet it went perfectly with a movie about the first man on the moon.
Because landing on the moon is some shit out of Fasntasy
You couldn't of put such a beautiful musical together with the pain that he lost when his daughter passed away! Leaving her little beaded bracelet, on the moon!
Best Movie for 2018, but yes not everybody will accept this,as this movie demands a Apollo lover audience
Many people are pissed that the movie didn't show the astronauts planting the flag. So many wanted to boycott the movie because of that.
I find that completely stupid.
@@elephant35e People actually didn't get the essence of this movie, which is something deep, far from a Space mission
every minute of this song has a different energy level
"We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win, and the others, too."
- John Fitzgerald Kennedy, September 12 1962
What a great underestimated film, and a fitting tribute to all those NASA people,Neil Armstrong a very quiet man, chosen as he had no ego,a mission patch without their names as there were too many involved, and an an olive branch for they came in peace.
The greatest achievement man has ever done, I knew it then at the time as a 10 year old.
This has become one of my top 5 fav movies of all time
what a fabulous performance by gosling ..hats off really
Absolutely insane perspective about the moon race. how many dead people, hoy many hearts broken. first man on the moon was totally a war. The movie, the story, actors and the music best thing about space I’ve never seen.
They did not rely on CGI and made me feel for the people. Not many films do that anymore.
@johnny fox CGI doesnt suck, its just overused
Doctor: you have 1 minute to live.
Me: *starts to play this video*
Doctor: But it’s 10:24 minutes long..
God: I’ll allow it.
💖
AWESOME COMMENT MAN
God has a good taste in music
Copycat
Absolutely!!!
Why am I crying after listening to this? Im just a guy in my 30s.
I'm a 30 year old lady and I'm crying with you ಥ‿ಥ
Life is short
coz u have a soul, something to be proud of nowadays
It doesnt get any better when you turn 40:-))))
I'm just a guy in my late 50s crying to this music who was lucky enough to watch the Apollo Moon landings & to understand the reasons why it happen dating back to the 1930s.
how the hell didn't that get an oscar nomination?
It has an oscar nomination, for best production design...
Should be in the "Best Picture" category instead of a certain comic book movie and I'll leave it at that.
@@fiowarrior21 i mean the score
The movie deserved so much praise
F the absence of the F scene
@@demikou8583 yes, I understand hoy right. Even for best movie
Unbelievable.. at least this ost just won a Golden Globe
First Man moved me in ways I can't even begin to describe.
It exposes something deeply and truly honest about the lengths that humanity can go to explore, to overcome our failings and to eventually achieve catharsis.
Soundtrack is on an interstellar level for the sheer gravity of emotions I feel when listening to this
First Man still remains a very underrated masterpiece... ever since it came out in theaters. I loved this movie ahh som much. I still can't believe it didn't win best picture, best director, best score, and among other awards... it doesn't take away from the fact that this film is a masterpiece.
I listen to this non-stop while working
I can't stop listening to this music, so freaking beautiful.
Same for like two days now
Glad it got an oscar...it was deserving of more nominations...but got recognized...yeah!!!!
Man this track make me travel to the moon each time I listen to it
Justin Hurwitz is a genius 👌🏻 This perfection is not a surprise.
Finally a movie with a beautiful memorable music theme. This is so well made. Interestingly, upon hearing this in a movie - I thought that it was created by Daft Punk, as they are the fans of these sort of arpeggios, similar to :Tron Legacy" Flynn theme.
This is just pure awesome. Thank you so much for making it so right.
Hats-off dude.
This film inspires me so much respect...
