- This is probably what Resident Evil 0 was originally supposed to look like. The game started life as a Nintendo 64 title that was scrapped and restarted on GameCube. Only the story and the concept art remained in the rebooted project so what it wound up looking like on the newer console isn't what Capcom had in mind for the scrapped N64 version.

Resident Evil 0 is far from my favorite RE game, but it does star the best RE character, Rebecca, so it's one of my go-to games when I just want a little Resident Evil action.
The train section is really good for picking up and playing a bit. It's kind of like the Tanker in MGS2 in that respect.
I will definitely be getting this. I have the GameCube version,but I would like to play this on my modded PS1.

RE0 was a good experience overall imo.
I got discouraged the first time I played because halfway through, I left the Hook shot with Rebecca or Billy. I can't specifically remember what happened, but I basically was stuck. I eventually played it again and avoided that issue. I beat it and from my memory I remember the last boss felt kind of easy, lack luster, and generic. Maybe I was just burnt out. Anyways, I need to give it another go and give this a go as well.

There's always Resident Evil 2 on N64. It's really impressive considering the size limitations. And it even has an exclusive file in-game that makes reference to the events of RE0!

@MegatechBody I remember the boxes, but by the time I got into the PS1, it was all the standard jewel cases. Appreciate the info on it!
I recall a few early PS1 games that had the long box/clear case design, Twisted Metal 1, Wipeout 1, Rayman 1, Doom.

PS1 game discs are black with a slight blue tint. CD based PS1 games were blue on the back.
You know, I'm surprised that Capcom hasn't done a RE Engine remake for Resident Evil 0 and 1. Maybe it's coming later? Maybe we'll also see an RE Engine remake version of RE 5 and 6 too?
I don't remember blue PS1 games but I do recall blue PS2 games that were CD based instead of the DVD base format
I do feel like Resident Evil 0 is a game that would benefit from a remake, there's quite a bit they could add to make it even better other than that Code Veronica would benefit from a remake more than 0, mainly due to that game being not as enjoyable to play in comparison to 0, which is some competent classic Resident Evil action, I never finished both of those Resident Evil games, but I enjoyed 0 a bit more.
@xxnike0629xx ps1 games are on black CD, PS2 CD based games are on blue discs and PS2 DVD based games are on normal DVDs

I still own this game and loved it on GameCube back in the day. I’d like to play this, but I would not buy it incomplete if it’s only the train part. I don’t understand why an incomplete physical is being sold. That’s probably only 1/3 of the game.
The long box just doesn't work for Playstation. I know they started out using them and they abandoned them in favor of standard CD-sized cases. Now if Resident Evil Zero was on the Saturn, that would be something. I like that game. Yeah, that's right, I said it. I happen to like Resident Evil Zero. Why can't you port more things to the Saturn (aside from it being tricky for programmers)?

That is awesome! Seriously somebody must have put a lot of time and soul into this. Certainly nice to see, plus, as you said, it might very well have worked onthe N64 even though it was bigger than the version of RE2 that nintendo had on its console. Cool stuff! ^

Wow thanks Reggie. This is awesome. I will definitely be emulating this on the Raspberry Pi 4B 8GB in the Vilros keyboard/touchpad hub with my favorite wired controller running Berryboot Retro Pi. I have an 8bitdo N30 wireless mouse too. It will go into my favorites with Resident Evil Code Name Veronica. So stoked to play now. I just found some real cool stuff on Switch when I typed in Ninja Jajamaru. RPG and the new game look the best. Thanks for the heads up. I was also checking out Pocket Penguin DX and 2021: Moon Escape for Switch and Gameboy. Cool stuff. ❤😊

I thought you might be interested that self-booting PS1 backups with no console mods are becoming a thing. Somebody figured out how to modify their CD burner's firmware to burn the wobble to CD-r discs, but it's not quite there yet. I imagine eventually there will be a file to flash a specific disc drive's firmware, so producers of discs like RE 0 here would potentially be able to make games that work on stock PS1 systems with no modchip.

This game was actually released for the Nintendo GameCube and never released on the PlayStation 1. I’m not sure what this is all about so it must be a cheap bootleg.
