Naturally, I set off to find out what else was hidden by The Watchtower. An old boss of mine once told me, "You can have implicit trust in your staff but never forget to check regularly that your trust isn't misplaced".
You wouldn't be able to fulfill prophecy in having the mark of the wild beast unless they had joined the UN as NGO,s. They do not worship the image of the wild beast in having a library card, do they ,?? Who do ? Those who veto and vote and carry out the bidding of the member nations of the UN .Afghanistan Serbia..Syria..a nations that gave recently had to comply with the veto ..against humanitarian corridors where people are in hardship.. in need of medical aid, food.. water etc Jehovahs Witnesses are actively participating in fulfillment of bible prophecy ..and it's not merely in the preaching work. My father went to prison for his neutrality. He was given a 5 year sentence, served 13 months. The amount of pressure at that time was unbelievable. It was a slap in the face when the opinions changed.
I got baptized in 1962, pioneered and served where the need was greater. It was because “many living today will never die, hints of important 1975. I left in 1982. I’m so glad I did. I still have family members that are active witnesses. I didn’t watch any ExJw videos. I just left and decided for myself how I want to live because living as a JW was not what I expected. I left the organization 1982. I am so glad because I am 78 and have absolutely no regrets. I have (4) successful children, educated and a good heart. I got them out before they could’ve been undocumented by this organization. I’m glad witnesses have your site and others.Thank you for confirming what I already think in a calm and reasonably logically. When I lived in NY I went to Brooklyn Heights congregation.

Wonderful classic. Now a pimo (family still in). 65 years of our lives spent in this cult but now fully awake because of the ever changing teachings of men and the corrupt cover up of decades of child abuse. Had been an elder for many years but recently deleted myself. My wife and I had pioneered, special pioneered, been in the circuit work and now in our early 80’s and enjoying our freedom. I had not watched this video before. Thank you for showing it again. When the GB talks about the brothers who have previously been in prison and those who are currently in prison, they are highly praised for their unwavering loyalty to Jehovah, especially those imprisoned in Russia. It is reported the brothers in Russia get abused, beaten, threatened by the guards, etc . . . However, the GB in their broadcasts, seem pleased that the brothers endure all this, with joy in their hearts, just like the Apostles did when they were imprisoned. The GB never fails to cherry pick a scripture to back this up. So much suffering has been brought to the families of these men by this cruel JW organization. Glad I woke up
I remember every so often I would stop and think to myself "how old are they now?". Because the announced ones in my congregation would die, I would anticipate that it could be any day now. Thank you for sharing this Classic. I’m just so intrigued by your story JT. It truly touched me and opened my eyes to the deceitfulness of the Watchtower. I left for doctrinal reasons too finally hopping off the fence in 2020 after watching a Governing Body presentation about the studios being built in Ramapo in New York. They claimed that although it would take about 6 years to be completed that we should not lose our sense of urgency. Right away I saw that this was a scheme especially when they claimed that the studios would be needed to teach others after Armageddon. This sounded absolutely crazy to me. I was done! Just a year before I woke up,there's a scripture(2 Corinthians 3:17.." where the spirit of the Lord is ,there is freedom..") that kept ringing in my head, and I felt that there is no freedom of thought in the organisation, I felt very uneasy and constrained. I also started noticing how hypocritical JW's generally are.Then Covid happened then I slowly started losing interest, this is one of the videos that filled those missing gaps,when you just know something is off but can't put a finger on it.I was 30 when i started waking up and having just graduated with a diploma in Journalism(critical thinking is very much encouraged in that field of study,though it may seem otherwise.Thank you so much Lady C and JT. And luckily for me I dont have any family members that are left behind. My grrandparents and myself were the only jw's and they have both passed on and both were inactive for many years before they died.
My dad served 18 months in prison as a conscientious objector. And, I remember when the new light re:1914 came out. The look on his face was startling. We literally paused the family WT prep while he digested it. I was about 15 when the magazine came out. Crazy.
@@ExJWCriticalThinker the article was like in 1990 or 1992 (ish). I just remember how in shock he was with the study. I was genuinely concerned, as my dad was an elder and he looked almost betrayed. I couldn't quite understand it. But it definitely made me take notice, even at that age. Sadly, he must have just pushed it aside and went along with it. I think I should ask him, as he's been DF'd too for some years. In his late 70s though, I don't think he spends too much time thinking about it.

4:50 “organizational procedure” what the “society has in print” not what’s in the Bible. This was the part that stuck w me about this experience! I remember discussing topics w friends and everyone always ran to the watchtower FIRST. Never the Bible. A cult. That’s what this is. Plain & simple.
I just want to add a little story of one of my first experiences in realizing something was wrong with the religion. I was a young mother, took my little boy and his little friend from the hall out in service. I took a wrong turn/wrong street and got lost. Took awhile to get back to car group and they were all gone. Luckily I had my car. They didn't care. By their fruits you will know them.
I love this video JT. These 3 things were ones that truly made me start digging deeper in the reasons why I “believed” what I did. Critical thinking became so important to me after nearly 50 years of believing I was part of a spirit led “religion”. I may not remember this correctly but I recall an elder saying shot before I left that the society has changed its stance on voting to be a conscience matter. Another red flag at that time!

Outstanding! Just one point using Critical thinking. The main point for religions to control other humans is: Whatever is in the book is coming from GOD. If we just cut the umbilical cord between God and the book, by using critical thinking we can investigate and find out how the “book” was created. From that point every teaching is base in other humans point of view.
Thank you for talking about this with confidence, because the witnesses would be happy making us feel like were just bad and wrong for thinking different than WT authority. They put so much into 1914...even attributing many events in book of Revelations to that early time period. So they made a huge hole of misinformation that would take some real humility to admit. Probably easier to keep people believing most of it. I still believe the Bible (which they do get right so much of it) Just wish they allowed some critical thinking and had humility, then it would of been good. I don't know if you 'll like my answer, but the Bible is the truth (I believe) so much of what is taught from the Bible (of which JW's taught) is Biblical truth. So learning the Bible is vital (in my understanding) and then moving beyond that or going through that horrible wormhole of realizing what's right and what's wrong in "religions" ....moving forward seems appropriate. So If JW are wrong in some teachings where does that leave all the other Christian religions that are teaching wrong. Are they all from Satan? No... Wrong teachings are wrong, and right teachings are right. The details from that...I'll leave up to the individual trying to find God.
I cant thank you two enough for giving me support in my thinking. When i realized i had been duped i was stunned for 3 months and its been 3 years now that ive been awake after 54 years of indoctrination. I still have 3 kids in and i hope they wake up. Im making videos now but i have you both to thank because you speak and think like me. I was a 3rd generation witness and a full-time pioneer and i walked away immediately when i realized. I feel much closer to my father in heaven and a much better Christian now.
I lost my faith in Jehovah due to demonic slander, and some of the most vicious lies you can imagine could be told on a human. I left because i was felt Jehovah was not real because if he was real he would have vindicated me. However, something happened this morning that brought about a shift in my thinking. After listening to various youtube videos, podcasts such as surviving paradise, Jack Gray etc. I realized i was being vindicated. Sometimes we look for vindication as God allowing something to occur where people would see i was the victim of lies. However. I realized vindication is for me, not other people.

I would tell anyone to be very cautious of getting baptized. Because you’re actually dedicating yourself to the organization, more than God. I’ve seen people I grew up with never get baptized and they’re able to basically live both lives and still openly associate with the witnesses. But if you get baptized and fall away you’re shunned and can’t associate with anyone. I would tell my own kids not to do it until they are at least 18+

My jehovah's witness family and fellow Jehovah's lost patience with me and I was no longer welcome to the kingdom halls anymore. I was a Bethelite 85'-88' and elder after returning home. My wake up took me getting df'd that took me away from the meeting to later come back. Took me a long time to wake up, after my 2nd dfing lol yep. 2 things woke me up, my second Judicial meeting and a C.O. visit that was talking to the friends about the over lapping generation, it wasn't what he said trying to explain it, it was how he said it... Was waiving his hand in the air and saying no big deal this new understanding, I could have fallen out of my seat, I was df'd at the time (not now reinstated and faded) I sat in the back and I looked around at the congregation and EVERYONE had this blank zombie like look on their faces, and I thought did they just hear what I heard? GB just blew off a 100 year teaching as if it was nothing. Dangled a carrot in front of millions of people for decades only to strip their hopes of never dying.
That’s exactly how I felt ! ! Never been DFed or anything close, just faded. When I heard and saw the overlapping generations illustration in the Kingdom book my jaw hit the floor ! ! I suddenly felt like I had been punched in the head. I remember looking around in amazement at everyone else in the hall just going along and raising their hands to comment as if nothing was out of the ordinary, and thinking W T F ! !

The overlapping generation that the watchtower taught that won't pass away is still in effect today because of what they said couple years ago. But the organization is silent about it, like they're sneaking away from it.

Trust and believe....SO MANY IN THE ORGANIZATION DO QUESTION THE "TRUTH"! The problem is 1) some have positions of priorities and like the way it feels 2) families and marriages will be torn apart 3) it's a social club, just like going to church or the nightclub 4) they've aged and "this is all they have". All of the above is the saddest "way of life".
My heart bleds for all those young brothers and sisters whose lives have been ruined by going to jail, when alternative service was an option. Why will this JW Organisation lie like this? And they are so unapologetic in destroying lives and family.

I am not being a racist. I am speaking the truth. I learned so much about my history and how the political arena influences religion. Even Jehovah Witnesses. This is no joke. Nobody wants to talk about it. However, we are all affected.
I know these things have always been a problem. I knew a brother who went to prison for not going in the military during the Vietnam War. In certainly was not good for him. I wouldn't have wanted to go to prison for my neutrality and was scared to death when I turned 18. I got real scared when Kuwait was invaded and Desert Shield was implemented. I hated all that internal strife and I curse them all for it.
JT they've just recently released those poor men from Eritrea who've been languishing in jail for over 25 years😢 because they couldn't do alternative service. Lord help them if they ever learn the truth about Watchtower. Lost the whole of their young lives. My heart aches for them.
One of the hardest things about this religion is that people aren’t allowed to question without being branded spiritually weak-or the absolute worst JW judgment-an apostate. Some of the recent “new light” teachings are things that didn’t make sense to thinking people at the time. And of course, although JWs would have been chastised for expressing any doubts back then, they are now supposed to smile and be thankful for the “new light.” Thank you for your channel. I love that you present topics clearly and without embellishment or exaggeration. None of these resources were available when I faded many years ago. The guilt drilled into a third generation “born in” like me still lingers, and videos like this are so reaffirming. Thank you for all you do.
May I ask, do you now believe that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are three persons in one Godhead and have you been born-again? It seems that often times,... even when former JW's are free from the bondage of the cult,... they are SO disillusioned with "religion" in general,... they somehow miss the pure joy and peace that being born-again, entering a personal relationship Jesus and the promise of eternal salvation that awaits them, at the foot of the Cross.
Regarding the neutrality matter, I know from first hand that WT was telling us to say to the authorities "because of our Christian Biblical trained conscious we refuse to serve the Armed forces "....in a specific meeting it was pointed out that no matter what, we must NEVER say it's a WT policy or mandate! Typical WT, throwing us under the bus. Many suffered years in prison because of WT and we knew that in other European countries WT accepted alternative service, but in our country, which was in Europe as well was denied by WT...

I wondered if it was Greece where alternative service wasn’t seen as acceptable by the watchtower. Years ago many Greek brothers spent time in jail as I think the service was compulsory there.
On the cover of that magazine is an old bethelite ....Bob Hatsfield. He was in my old congregation in Brooklyn. My mom had him over MANY times for dinner after sunday meetings. He would give my brother a lot of his old radio equipment. Very nice man.

Many today might not know that under persecution, in Eritrea, some brothers spent over 20 years, 26 years, in jail, and some died there. This information is on the WT's own website. Sisters in countries "under ban" have been jailed, tortured and raped, for preaching too openly or studying with a neighbor. This information came directly from a brother serving in that country, as a cautionary tale, told to an American sister who was seeking in all faithfulness to serve there as well. No God or Son of God by any name protected or rescued any of them. No God or Son of God by any name would have protected that sister, had she chosen to serve in the country "under ban". It's all blind guidance by men, made up to suit the times and the changing control needs of those men, and given DIFFERENTLY TO DIFFERENT COUNTRIES, at the same time! (For those who havent yet read them, please see Ray Franz's writings on "Mexico and Malawi".) Thank you JT and Lady Cee! I had not watched this video before. Thank you for showing it again. When the GB talks about the brothers who have previously been in prison and those who are currently in prison, they are highly praised for their unwavering loyalty to Jehovah, especially those imprisoned in Russia. It is reported the brothers in Russia get abused, beaten, threatened by the guards, etc . . . However, the GB in their broadcasts, seem pleased that the brothers endure all this, with joy in their hearts, just like the Apostles did when they were imprisoned. The GB never fails to cherry pick a scripture to back this up. So much suffering has been brought to the families of these men by this cruel JW organization. Glad I woke up

I remember every so often I would stop and think to myself "how old are they now?". Because the announced ones in my congregation would die, I would anticipate that it could be any day now. What a disappointment when 1975 passed, and I stuck it out another decade and then left in 1985.

Thank you for sharing this Classic. I’m just so intrigued by your story JT. It truly touched me and opened my eyes to the deceitfulness of the Watchtower. I left for doctrinal reasons too finally hopping off the fence in 2020 after watching a Governing Body presentation about the studios being built in Ramapo in New York. They claimed that although it would take about 6 years to be completed that we should not lose our sense of urgency. Right away I saw that this was a scheme especially when they claimed that the studios would be needed to teach others after Armageddon. This sounded absolutely crazy to me. I was done! I just couldn’t preach to people something that I no longer believed. Blessings to you and Lady C. ❤

Just a year before I woke up,there's a scripture(2 Corinthians 3:17.." where the spirit of the Lord is ,there is freedom..") that kept ringing in my head, and I felt that there is no freedom of thought in the organisation, I felt very uneasy and constrained. I also started noticing how hypocritical JW's generally are.Then Covid happened then I slowly started losing interest, this is one of the videos that filled those missing gaps,when you just know something is off but can't put a finger on it.I was 30 when i started waking up and having just graduated with a diploma in Journalism(critical thinking is very much encouraged in that field of study,though it may seem otherwise.Thank you so much Lady C and JT. Keep on keeping on. Your contribution means a lot.
And luckily for me I dont have any family members that are left behind. My grrandparents and myself were the only jw's and they have both passed on and both were inactive for many years before they died.
My dad served 18 months in prison as a conscientious objector. And, I remember when the new light re:1914 came out. The look on his face was startling. We literally paused the family WT prep while he digested it. I was about 15 when the magazine came out. Crazy.

@@ExJWCriticalThinker the article was like in 1990 or 1992 (ish). I just remember how in shock he was with the study. I was genuinely concerned, as my dad was an elder and he looked almost betrayed. I couldn't quite understand it. But it definitely made me take notice, even at that age. Sadly, he must have just pushed it aside and went along with it.
I think I should ask him, as he's been DF'd too for some years. In his late 70s though, I don't think he spends too much time thinking about it.

I just want to add a little story of one of my first experiences in realizing something was wrong with the religion. I was a young mother, took my little boy and his little friend from the hall out in service. I took a wrong turn/wrong street and got lost. Took awhile to get back to car group and they were all gone. Luckily I had my car. They didn't care. By their fruits you will know them.

I love this video JT. These 3 things were ones that truly made me start digging deeper in the reasons why I “believed” what I did. Critical thinking became so important to me after nearly 50 years of believing I was part of a spirit led “religion”. I may not remember this correctly but I recall an elder saying shot before I left that the society has changed its stance on voting to be a conscience matter. Another red flag at that time!

Always my favorite Ex-JW coming out story of all time! The generation teaching was the foundation that held the Jehovah's Witness belief system together! Time proved it all to be wrong! There was no good use after 1995.

Just one point using Critical thinking. The main point for religions to control other humans is: Whatever is in the book is coming from GOD.
If we just cut the umbilical cord between God and the book, by using critical thinking we can investigate and find out how the “book” was created. From that point every teaching is base in other humans point of view.
Thank you for talking about this with confidence, because the witnesses would be happy making us feel like were just bad and wrong for thinking different than WT authority. They put so much into 1914...even attributing many events in book of Revelations to that early time period. So they made a huge hole of misinformation that would take some real humility to admit. Probably easier to keep people believing most of it. I still believe the Bible (which they do get right so much of it) Just wish they allowed some critical thinking and had humility, then it would of been good. I don't know if you 'll like my answer, but the Bible is the truth (I believe) so much of what is taught from the Bible (of which JW's taught) is Biblical truth. So learning the Bible is vital (in my understanding) and then moving beyond that or going through that horrible wormhole of realizing what's right and what's wrong in "religions" ....moving forward seems appropriate. So If JW are wrong in some teachings where does that leave all the other Christian religions that are teaching wrong. Are they all from Satan? No... Wrong teachings are wrong, and right teachings are right. The details from that...I'll leave up to the individual trying to find God.

I cant thank you two enough for giving me support in my thinking. When i realized i had been duped i was stunned for 3 months and its been 3 years now that ive been awake after 54 years of indoctrination. I still have 3 kids in and i hope they wake up. Im making videos now but i have you both to thank because you speak and think like me. I was a 3rd generation witness and a full-time pioneer and i walked away immediately when i realized. I feel much closer to my father in heaven and a much better Christian now.

I lost my faith in Jehovah due to demonic slander, and some of the most vicious lies you can imagine could be told on a human. I left because i was felt Jehovah was not real because if he was real he would have vindicated me. However, something happened this morning that brought about a shift in my thinking. After listening to various youtube videos, podcasts such as surviving paradise, Jack Gray etc. I realized i was being vindicated. Sometimes we look for vindication as God allowing something to occur where people would see i was the victim of lies. However. I realized vindication is for me, not other people.

I would tell anyone to be very cautious of getting baptized. Because you’re actually dedicating yourself to the organization, more than God. I’ve seen people I grew up with never get baptized and they’re able to basically live both lives and still openly associate with the witnesses. But if you get baptized and fall away you’re shunned and can’t associate with anyone. I would tell my own kids not to do it until they are at least 18+

I was a Bethelite 85'-88' and elder after returning home. My wake up took me getting df'd that took me away from the meeting to later come back. Took me a long time to wake up, after my 2nd dfing lol yep. 2 things woke me up, my second Judicial meeting and a C.O. visit that was talking to the friends about the over lapping generation, it wasn't what he said trying to explain it, it was how he said it... Was waiving his hand in the air and saying no big deal this new understanding, I could have fallen out of my seat, I was df'd at the time (not now reinstated and faded) I sat in the back and I looked around at the congregation and EVERYONE had this blank zombie like look on their faces, and I thought did they just hear what I heard? GB just blew off a 100 year teaching as if it was nothing. Dangled a carrot in front of millions of people for decades only to strip their hopes of never dying.
That’s exactly how I felt ! ! Never been DFed or anything close, just faded. When I heard and saw the overlapping generations illustration in the Kingdom book my jaw hit the floor ! ! I suddenly felt like I had been punched in the head. I remember looking around in amazement at everyone else in the hall just going along and raising their hands to comment as if nothing was out of the ordinary, and thinking W T F ! !

Trust and believe....SO MANY IN THE ORGANIZATION DO QUESTION THE "TRUTH"! The problem is 1) some have positions of priorities and like the way it feels 2) families and marriages will be torn apart 3) it's a social club, just like going to church or the nightclub 4) they've aged and "this is all they have".
All of the above is the saddest "way of life".
My heart bleds for all those young brothers and sisters whose lives have been ruined by going to jail, when alternative service was an option. Why will this JW Organisation lie like this? And they are so unapologetic in destroying lives and family.

I know these things have always been a problem. I knew a brother who went to prison for not going in the military during the Vietnam War. In certainly was not good for him. I wouldn't have wanted to go to prison for my neutrality and was scared to death when I turned 18. I got real scared when Kuwait was invaded and Desert Shield was implemented. I hated all that internal strife and I curse them all for it.
One of the very best presentations of the social, theological, and historical issues. The WT lost a powerful voice when it lost you! Thank God it did!
JT they've just recently released those poor men from Eritrea who've been languishing in jail for over 25 years😢 because they couldn't do alternative service. Lord help them if they ever learn the truth about Watchtower. Lost the whole of their young lives. My heart aches for them.

One of the hardest things about this religion is that people aren’t allowed to question without being branded spiritually weak-or the absolute worst JW judgment-an apostate. Some of the recent “new light” teachings are things that didn’t make sense to thinking people at the time. And of course, although JWs would have been chastised for expressing any doubts back then, they are now supposed to smile and be thankful for the “new light.” Thank you for your channel. I love that you present topics clearly and without embellishment or exaggeration. None of these resources were available when I faded many years ago. The guilt drilled into a third generation “born in” like me still lingers, and videos like this are so reaffirming. Thank you for all you do.
May I ask, do you now believe that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are three persons in one Godhead and have you been born-again?
It seems that often times,... even when former JW's are free from the bondage of the cult,... they are SO disillusioned with "religion" in general,... they somehow miss the pure joy and peace that being born-again, entering a personal relationship Jesus and the promise of eternal salvation that awaits them, at the foot of the Cross.
Regarding the neutrality matter, I know from first hand that WT was telling us to say to the authorities "because of our Christian Biblical trained conscious we refuse to serve the Armed forces "....in a specific meeting it was pointed out that no matter what, we must NEVER say it's a WT policy or mandate! Typical WT, throwing us under the bus. Many suffered years in prison because of WT and we knew that in other European countries WT accepted alternative service, but in our country, which was in Europe as well was denied by WT...

I wondered if it was Greece where alternative service wasn’t seen as acceptable by the watchtower. Years ago many Greek brothers spent time in jail as I think the service was compulsory there.
On the cover of that magazine is an old bethelite ....Bob Hatsfield. He was in my old congregation in Brooklyn. My mom had him over MANY times for dinner after sunday meetings.
He would give my brother a lot of his old radio equipment.

The brothers who went to jail for neutrality could have died in jail.
Many today might not know that under persecution, in Eritrea, some brothers spent over 20 years, 26 years, in jail, and some died there. This information is on the WT's own website.
Sisters in countries "under ban" have been jailed, tortured and raped, for preaching too openly or studying with a neighbor. This information came directly from a brother serving in that country, as a cautionary tale, told to an American sister who was seeking in all faithfulness to serve there as well.
No God or Son of God by any name protected or rescued any of them. No God or Son of God by any name would have protected that sister, had she chosen to serve in the country "under ban".
It's all blind guidance by men, made up to suit the times and the changing control needs of those men, and given DIFFERENTLY TO DIFFERENT COUNTRIES, at the same time!
