    Great video ! That loop button is quite overlooked indeed, beside the obvious use with the OSC files. I stumbled upon a cool trick when activated and playing with the sample length.

      The loop is a really cool feature, it's just not seen as sound manglingly sexy as some of the others though. The next video on this is going to be about the fake delay thing and then after that I am going to do something on glitchyness and 'wavetable' stuff and start looking at the LFO.
      What was the cool trick you discovered?

      @@DocBolus Well actually its just that : having the loop on on a particular sample (i think it works better with a single shot than with a longer sample), maybe adding the retrig always on, and then turning the length knob every which way. It makes for a very glitchy sound (it reminds me of the sound in the Matrix movie when they go down the telephone line !). And finally playing with delay, verb, freq... it becomes very "sound manglingly sexy " !
      I wish the loop could function as a kind of beat repeater on all tracks, whose length we could choose with the trigs from the sequencer. I think the octatrack does something like that...

      Yep the glitchy qualities that can be got through the loop can be really cool and I like things which automate some of that as it means I can focus on other things on other boxes. If you have too much to do at once it makes performance tricky.

    You're really dissecting this M:S function! Good job! It is also a very easy and amusing deepening into samples in general

      Thanks Q_yr I like to think that even if the machine is not one that someone has I cover enough of the general principles that it can be applied to different bits of kit.

    That decay turning into the feedback is awesome! Thanks, I am trying to master my M:S and these tips are sssoo helpful.

      Glad they help, I love the Samples for how powerful it can be with a bit of imagination. Don't forget to pass the tips on to others who might find them useful.

    loved it, getting into Model:Samples

      So glad, couple more to come around the looping. Might need a bit more prep work for some of the tricks.

    Great tutorial for using these techniques in general! Inspires me to try some looping-delay dub on the VSample. 😊

      I like to think that I explain the idea as well as the actual button presses so that these things can be applied to other gear so I am glad to hear you are adapting the technique.

    When you press the pad, the long sample (17 seconds) is interrupted and does not reproduce completely. In sequencing, the entire sample plays. Is this normal

      I have had some strange playback issues with long samples on this box. Sometimes the long samples play and sometimes they give out. I am not sure if it has something to do with polyphony limits. I know that every track is monophonic so each sample will cut of the previous one if it is playing but I don't know if the whole box has a strict 6 part polyphony which might cut some tracks off if that makes sense?

    this is what drove me crazy about the samples sold for cycles was much better

    • @DocBolus
      @DocBolus  ปีที่แล้ว

      I reckon this does a different job, this is a sampler not a synth, though you can make some synthy noises. Did you get another sampler to replace it?

    • @SonicVibe
      @SonicVibe ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DocBolus yes it was the way it handles start and end points on samples that was weird for me had a bunch of samplers since then right now current favorites are liven lofi 12 and 6 and Nunomo Qun mk2 and m8

    • @DocBolus
      @DocBolus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SonicVibe I think it is just something you get used to. It's not fine grained and just splits everything up into 120 even chunks which can take some getting used to, but you can get some nice glitchy moments from it.

    • @SonicVibe
      @SonicVibe ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DocBolus your probably right I should have gave it longer try

    • @DocBolus
      @DocBolus  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SonicVibe Nah, if it doesn't gel with the way you like to work and other samplers suit better then it's fine to move on with a different audio flavour.
