I love the judgement comments AFTER the fact lol you survived, you thrived and this was filmed more than 2 weeks ago but everyone is so AT you for being bogged. I love these videos though, crazy journey you have ahead. I’m 31 and wish I did something similar in my 20s, but I still have time!

Your day 3 was an epic watch. The dash-cam view is making me envy your road trip. I wanna hear your music inspirations that soundtrack your experiences. Cocteau twins and others were a cool beginning. The crisp cinematography of your bogged moonscape & Whyalla SLSC. You're an adventurer now.

I always carry a little fold up shovel from BCF and an air compressor. Also, in your first ep you said you got jumper cables. I now use one of those jump starter power packs and they REALLY work. That way you don't need another car to jump your battery if needed. I think Kings sell them for about $100. They are also good in case you need to charge your phone quickly. Good luck on the rest of your travels. PS: I live about 2k from the Bundaberg soft drink company...best Ginger beer ever

    1. Do not stay if uncomfortable, follow your gut.
    2. Get an app that shows fuel stations. ( be prepared for fuel to be $2.30 or more per litre, remote areas push to $3/L , depending on season and global knock on )
    3. Police do surveillance from planes monitoring hwy speeds etc... they just catch you down the road 50-100km .
    4. Getting bogged , anyone who hasn't gotten bogged never went offroad. It is a passage of experience. I do recommend getting some intense homework done on the subject. 40yrs 4x4 and im still seeing things. Simple things like tyre pressure being lowered 10 psi can help , be cautious do research first .Think about some recovery equipment. Don't rely on others to volunteer their own equipment to rescue a pretty young woman.
5.between 0900 -1600hrs (9-4pm) highest UV index during Summer. Stay with vehicle, as you're on beach it feels cooler , however you get smashed my sun . Stick to vehicle shade , and never loose sight of your vehicle if broken down.
    6. Fluids 5 litres per person per day is a safe contingency, alcohol and soft drinks will dehydrate you quicker . Throw in your food .......and your camping while awaiting help.
    7. Watch out you don't get a fine playing with phones , cameras etc... the habits you do now will continue into regions of higher policing .
    8. Enjoy, no rush .

Hey - being bogged is very stressful. Glad you got out.
What tyre pressures were you running? I'm no expert, but I normally drop mine to about 10psi on soft sand (that's very low - I have a ute which is very light on the back) but I'd recommend something like 14psi for you. That makes the tyre flatter, and therefore "fatter" at the bottom, giving it a wider footprint on sand to help spread the load more. I also engage 4wd straight away, to lessen the likelihood of the wheels digging in. Do you have an electric pump to re-inflate? You really need one if you're gonna be doing 4WDing.
Also, do you not have a working cigarette lighter socket in your car to charge your phone?
    Few other considerations:
Do you know how to fit the spare wheel? Have you done it? Are you strong enough to get the wheel nuts off, as they often get over tightened? Is the spare in good condition, and has it got air in it? If you haven't done it, you need to practice doing it, so you know how to do it in case you run into trouble when you have no phone signal and can't call for help, or use TH-cam. You also need to check you can undo ALL the wheel nuts on your own. You can buy telescopic tools to make it easier.
Download Offline maps on your phone (Google Maps), in case you don't have wifi access - this could really get you out of trouble if you are lost somewhere remote.
Make sure you have at least 5L of spare water with you at all times. Bunnings sell 5L containers very cheap (Google "I/N: 3240529" )
Make sure someone knows where you are going at all times, and when they expect to hear from you.
    Stay safe out there.

Lowering tyre pressure doesn't make the tyre fatter. It makes the contact patch longer.

5:11 - have you been driving for a while, or have you just started the car up from cold? If driving for a while, from your gauge it looks like your water temp is low, which could likely mean your thermostat is sticking open. This could cause your car to use more fuel. Shouldn't be too expensive to get fixed - call round for a few quotes.
If you've just started from cold, then not to worry.

I stumbled on your posts. You obviously haven"t thought about the trip too much with the costs you are encountering and the off road ability of the vehicle. I have done a lot of outback trravel and have made sure that there were no nasty surprises. I am in my mid sixties and have been travelling to remote areas for many years but it seems that you have started a trip without making all of the necrssary preparations. You need to be more aware of what you and the vehicle can do before you get yourself into trouble that you can't get out of.
