Crazy, I was searching for a Mercadian Masques box opening yesterday. There's not a lot of them on TH-cam and none of them are easy to watch. So stoked this morning!

Iconic set, beautiful art, this is what got me into magic 24 years ago.
Pulled a foil Rishadan Port when this was in standard. Really wish I had hung onto that one.

Brings back memories, now if I could only smell the inside of that pack wrapper, I love the way those old packs and cards smelled when opening .

Omg DeepWood Morgan? Out of all the cards, that’s a great meme pull. Even got the squirrel like leafs and the ”Deep Analysis” reference got even better with the ”wood” added to it. Great pull and laugh 😂

I opened too much MM when I was younger. It was the set that just released when I first started playing. I could have invested more in the Urza's block but I chose MM 😅

I want to see a foil port so bad. It's my favorite card. If I ever get rich I'm buying one just to look at it when I feel down. The artwork is amazing
I really love that old art and those old borders. There's not much art on newer cards that I like.
That was actually Yokozuna the Undertaker wrassled in the Coffin Match. Chuck Norris was the special outside ref because their previous match, every heel came in the ring to gang up on the Undertaker. Double J tried to come in to this one and got Walkered right to the face.

One of my favourite sets. Have a sealed starter deck box and am hard trying to complete the set in foil... think I'm @ 3/4 the wsy. Most expencive ones I have , but not the "Port" .... Hope there is some ❤️🔥🌶 in there. Best Wishes. 🤘🦁🤘

Masques is one of my favorite sets. Started playing right around the time it came out. It’s such a huge deep epic set and the art is peak mtg. And obviously contains real old bordered foils. Set is criminally disrespected

This was one of the first sets that came out when I started playing in junior high. I got some, but all the Urza's block was available still. Got a few dual lands off a kid in home room, but traded them away for god knows what...

If you pull a foil dark ritual from masques check the back. There was a misprint with the back of the cards upside down. They were selling way up in the hundreds last time I looked. I had them back in the day but just said cool the back of the cards are upside down. Back in those days we just thought the misprints were unplayable junk cards.

Enslaved horror is much better with the german translate...its not each other player,it's each player.! So the owner can put a creature from his or her graveyard onto the battlefield too!

This was my first set but man these boxes should be worth $500 max. There's no value in most of the cards and it's just pure nostalgia. Beautiful art and frames though.

This is the set that had a mass mtg exodus. People complaining that it was too expensive cuz wotc upped its price by $1 lol. So majority of my friends and mtg fans just said see you later and started playing this new game called everquest and that stupid yugi oh card game lol. I remember My local LGS was fire selling these for $50 per box and nobody wanted them lmao. fast forward 24 years later this set 60x’ed in value. Damnit why didn’t I buy this when it was $50 per box. Damnit damnit damnit
Your Everquest reference made this comment :D I played the heck out of that game in Luclin and Planes of Power was so fun. 72 man raids with no voice chat, those were the best days.
Anyways, so many sets that were fire saled have aged so well. You just never know what the future will bring!

Why is snuff out so expensive? Is it that good? I guess paying 4 life for destroying a creature is pretty good, especially in black decks that play with life. But for a common to be so expensive it must be REALLY good?

That was a $20+ (US) common until a recent reprint. It's super popular in Pauper, and is decent in Commander.

Artwork was amazing. Too bad every rare in the set was trash except for port and that one was super rare. Before mythic rare there was port rare.
