That 80 year old guy looks better than I did at 50 - Jeeezzz. Gotta love the Basin. " The best thing about the Basin is there is no one in charge - and the worst thing about the Basin is there is no one in charge"
I like the idea of electric racing. Are there any plans to add another low, low end event for sport planes with speeds around 50 mph? Maybe figure 8 racing! I see too many guys getting into the foamy parkflyer models, and never getting an idea of what the bigger hobby has to offer.
From NMPRA Web Site: Lane stickers are assigned. Lane stickers allow the course workers to focus on a model's sticker rather then to trying to pick out a color scheme or other difference. There are typically 2 colors of lane stickers which are applied to the high or low wing as the model is rolled up to turn. Example: Lane 1 - Low Green Lane 2 - Low Red Lane 3 - High Green Lane 4 - High Red ---- • Race On After the 60-second start clock expires, the heat of racing begins. The start signal is given, either a drop of a flag or flash of a light, and the first group of racers launch. About a ½ second later the second signal is given and the second group of racers launch. For odd rounds, lanes 1 & 3 take off at the first start signal. For even rounds, lanes 2 & 4 take off at the first start signal. ---------- Cheers, PG
lol, look at those outdated planes and the old dudes that race 'em. hehe. I'm curious about the helmets. Is there a difference between getting hit in the tough strong skull versus the face/neck/heart/artery? They should probably be wearing motocross armor. Also, I think pylon racing would be better and safer as a FPV sport. Then people don't have to physically stand in the line of fire.
☣droid☣ pylon racing can be fpv but the distance and video lag could cause them to crash. I am trying to get into pylon flying so im not a pro, but i can tell you its fun. Im flying a 3d plane rn.
One of the best pieces of proper journalism I have seen in recent history.
Excellent video promoting pylon racing. Our sport needs this to educate the public.
Thanks very much.
Very nice video. Great introduction into PR

billville111 7:24, couldn't believe he said he turned 80 until I looked at your comment. He looks fantastic.
I wrote that on RC Universe about 30 years ago!

Raced the .15 QM when I was teenager, 1/2 A, and Quickee 500 once. I was surprised to hear the .15 size ended, the electric class looks fun.
Thanks for your good thoughts... and I'll pass your idea onto others on the Board of Directors. Thanks for watching the video. bob

why did they lift up the planes and turn around with them?

+droid i guess they are doing this sport at there own risk, at least they wear a helmet.

Your and idiot
I would like to see you try FPV at 200 mph making those turns.
Wearing the helmets is pretty pointless.
Not if a plane comes at your head, you'll be glad you had something on.
they ONLY go 100 mph lol
mate. this is slow. last weekend i did 59.46
Hey good going. After you competing on Oct 8 and 9 at Apollo 11 Field in L.A.?
