Great video, however the only thing i would highly suggest is throwing a different lure to catch different species. Generally speaking, those type of shallow lakes here in MINNESOTA hold big populations of Black Crappies, and usually big ones at that.. Pikes and Crappies can survive in shallower lakes due to their higher tolerance to lower oxygenated body of water. Plus, winterkill lakes don't always decimate a fishery. If anything it helps the fishery due to less competition. Hope to see the next one!
Glad I stumbled on this channel, even though I'm not from MN. Personally I like videos of people going off the beaten path more than fishing famous bodies of water.
Agreed, that is my style also. I like to discover. I do however notice that my views are 5x higher when fishing popular destinations. That's what people search for so the algorithm is primed for those lakes.
Yeah winter kill is real. I am just north of MN and can confirm small bodies of water rarely hold fish but some do. I love the work you are putting into doing the research.
Pikes put up a good fight! I live in mn and just started fishing this past summer. I drive by all these bodies of water, but it’s hard to tell which ones are apart of someone’s land or if they’re open to the public. How do you find out?
so if there is a creek flowing in, and flowing out, when it freezes does that normally create a underwater "creek", that the fish would use during the winter?
Back home the best lake to catch largemouth bass was located within walking distance of a Casey’s gas station. No one in the right mind ever thought to fish there because when there’s large lakes in the area, why would you go to the 5 acre pond right?
You have to try for panfish in these small bodies of water. I have found a few little potholes in the woods that hold sizable sunfish, and crappie.
One of the top requests I’ve had so far. I’ll be working some of that in soon 👍🏻
Yup! You know there's some slab bluegill in some of these little spots!
Brother, do some panfishing too. It would be neat to see if there are crappies, perch, etc.
Agreed, those pike have to be eating something to survive

@@differentfins same for me unfortunately which is a shame. As much as trailblazing is fun, it's only really enjoyed by a minority.
Those pike look fun to fight!
I would recommend using a top water frog work great for pickerel in Maine so probly work
I really like your channel. I think I'm going to subscribe.😊

Great stuff , fun watch
Yay new upload
Love this channel!
Been waiting for this one
What a great series!
I've had that happen more than once where all of s sudden it's mealtime for the fish and they all start biting.
Love the videos
You should throw some top water. Especially cause them spots are not pressured
Great content for a channel
There are lots of lakes like this that prove that fishing pressure has killed most of our great fisheries.
I love your uploads and also what is the brand of you kayak
Ascend FS10
Really enjoying your channel! A unique twist on fishing that sets you apart from the rest!
Glad you enjoy it!
Im tempted to start a series like this in michigan
The reason they haven't been surveyed? Duh. It costs money, and there are 11,000 of them. 😮
i can’t wait
I’d be curious to see what panish these smaller lakes hold too. My trip to Minnesota showed off some MONDO bluegill and pumpkin seed

The land of 10,000 lakes
only?
What is your process on identifying lakes to try fishing?
nice!
Kinda curious how many grouse you flush while dragging that kayak in... great videos & thanks for keeping the locations secret.
I’ve been looking for wheels for my kayak, you mind sharing the name please
Just upgraded to a set from Suspenz. Pricy, but worth it

hey i was just wondering why u use spinning rods instead of baitcasters
Me doing this in Florida but there’s a gators whenever i go around the bank 😭
God thank hell he didn’t give away this gem. Everyone would have swarmed it and cleaned that lake out of sticks. Dude annoys the hell out of me.
is that a buzzbait you were using?
Gotta hit grassy lake near bear head u won't be disappointed
Be interested to know if most of the lakes fished are by Bemidji or the Iron Range.
I'd call this hammer handle lake,...
Where are these lakes?
And how do i find them?
