What did you do to clean and prep the surface first? Naturally you'd want to clean the surface of as much smoke sludge as possible before applying the shellac
SHW shellac vs Kilz primer ?? Which one is a better bang for the dollar ? There is heavy black "soot" in a kitchen which is why I am here....first guy quoted the job said Kilz primer. Would a pancake compressor be able to keep up with the flow rate of the spray gun ? IDK.

yes for sure shellac is the only way to do it to stop the bleed and the smell
