Dude, you rip. But people ride wooden planks and plywood, why wouldn''t your handshaped board work? I started surfing before the machine shaped boards came on. You can ride anything you want. No such thing as a bad board, you just gotta learn to ride it. The first board I shaped was in woodshop, back when that was offered as an elective in Jr High, the 80's. The teacher said I could shape a PU for a grade so long as I wrote up a step by step plan and used all the shop hand tools. Some of my friends loved it, some hated it. The real question was, can you make it work? You did with yours. That was sick. It's a great feeling to get waves on something you crafted yourself. Way to go!
For another shaping challenge, try hotwiring a blank out of a big chunk of eps. It's kind of a trip to visualize it entirely in 3 dimensions vs a pre formed blank.
Maybe next board the fin reinforcement make the fiber glass go toward the nose in a daimond pattern? Seems like it buckled right at the reinforcement patch.
Definitely right. Found the limit of how light I could go with the carbon. Next one I’ll strengthen it up while trying to keep the same flex characteristics

This will change the world! How we spend weeks on something that has literally been done millions of times..and market it like it's new.. Just about every shaper I know has terrible long term health issues due to the toxic materials used.. There is nothing spiritual about using toxic materials..nothing.. " All we want to do is surf and ride perfect waves"..how old is this guy? All this stuff is going to go..it's time men grew up and did something useful besides ..play.. Imagine telling your kids all you did your whole life is ..play surf.. In inspire stupidity..and lazeness.. Shits going down..it's time to fix things..now..

Doesn't carbon make the board too stiff and brittle ?
