Hunting the areas we do, we run into this kind of stuff all the time. 9 times out of 10, we handle it face to face and do not involve the law. Especially if it is a younger hunter and can be used as a teaching moment as opposed to getting them in trouble. However, when a grown man we know nothing about shows up with a firearm, that’s a different deal. After the “kidnapping” situation that happened to us in North Dakota, people told us multiple stories about people getting shot over hunting confrontations. That ain’t worth it. Not worth betting the guy is a good dude in that situation and is best to let the law handle it. This man knew better than to run onto someone else property in an urban area with a rifle during an archery only season . The people calling us “snitches” in this situation is honestly just hilarious.

That's cause they are poachers and or shady and not hunters. They don't honor the animals and fair chase is something they know nothing about! Poachers make me sick!

Nashville native here! It's time to get more discreet!!! Stop showing background shots lol! It's got so bad now around the suburbs with night time poaching !! I love the content but at this point it's affecting a lot of us near the city !! This stuff was a secret for 20 years until the Suburban scene popped off on YT, it gave the lazy poachers confidence to shoot deer without putting in the work! You have ppl watching videos now that look for specific details in the background, that's all it takes and your spot is compromised! I wish y'all fellas the best of luck ! Just tighten up security a little bit 😅🤙🏾💪🏼

    1. They never fired the rifle.
    2. Its not illegal to carry a firearm in public.
    3. You nor the officers will be able to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that their intention was to shoot the deer. Their word aganist yours. NO deer = NO poaching. You have to catch them with the animal to prove the crime.
    4. They lied about the gun....so what. Lying to the Police is not a crime any DA will prosocute because thats a 1st amendment nightmare unless its a felony and then the DA MIGHT go after them for obstruction.

I am not a hunter, have never watched a hunting channel before today and I ended up binge-watching a variety of different channels, and my biggest takeaway from the channels I did encounter is how polite and respectful the majority of the people were. It's great to be someone like me who has never really been exposed to hunting to see profound examples of humanity and civility through a hunting channel. It's a bit ironic in a way.

That's not even hunting. And you heard the cop say "you can NOT discharge a firearm within the city limits" so whatever city they are in is archery only. So rifle season or not your can NOT hunt with a gun in that city. I live in Maine and we have cities like that where you can't use a gun at any point. And people like this is exactly why so many people post their land and don't want hunting. If you can't use a gun to hunt in this city why they even driving around with a rifle? Hunting a night, out of season, ext all erases the term "hunting " . And if someone is willing to jump out with a rifle, no orange, trespass, discharge a firearm in city that is no discharge, who's to say what he would do if he came face to face with another hunter over a deer.

Unfortunately it probably isn't this guys first time doing this, but I am glad you guys were able to hopefully put an end to his poaching. People calling you snitches are probably the same people that would do the same thing, sure it's just a deer, but in the eyes of conservation, it means a lot more than that. Every animal deserves the respect to be hunted legally and fairly, it's the whole reason hunting laws exist. Without these laws, we would not be able to pursue this passion that many of us share. Thank you for doing the right thing gentlemen, way to shed light on these issues. Good luck this season.

If the cops called in the game wardens it would get bad. In most states the land owner has to sign for the trespass charges. Some land owners won’t sign the trespass if it’s local folks. Out of fear of retaliation. But hunting out of season with an improper equipment maybe add improper license to it. Probably around $1,000 in fines and suspension of hunting privileges for a year.

Someone definitely saw the deer in the morning and went into our field. A neighbor heard gun shots so DNR was called. needless to say no one was caught yet and the deer isnt on cam.

You can NEVER underestimate a poacher because they will go to any length to get their buck. These people know they are doing wrong and just don't care. Sure, everyone would love the chance to shoot a big deer and few get the opportunity. The obsession that some people have to get a deer gets a little crazy. The minute someone starts to consider illegal options just to get a deer is the minute they should go get their mind checked. Long after they cross that threshold and continue their ways, they become dangerous to themselves and others nearby.
