I had the great opportunity to visit Hamburg 5 years ago when my best friend was studying at Hamburg University. We spent the day at the Miniature Wunderland at it was truly remarkable. So much detail and so many cars and trucks and trains driving around. The planes taking off and landing was a sight to see. The best part of the layout was how the lands would go from day to night periodically and you could see everything lit up, there was a stadium filled with hundreds of little people at a rock concert and when it turned to night they put on a fantastic show. This was truly the highlight of my trip and I’m so glad you shared.
So incredible, it is beyond belief. The German group that built this brilliant model railroad layout just out did anything I have seen in the world. With moving vehicles, planes, boats, had every sort of building scene including a miniature golf course, campground and amusement part (with flashing lights), just incredible. Thank you for sharing this beautiful layout that just takes your breath away. The funny scene of the two monks seeing the hot blonde check the trunk of her car...LOL!
The thing that has always amazed me is how German companies have managed to capture the details of scale models. They do not look like models but real items. That jet in the beginning looked like it would actually take off. Some of the models are so detailed that a microscope is needed to read the fine text. It is a joy to see such things. Thanks for posting this video.
I have visited this layout twice in the last 10 years and the evolution of the layout is ongoing it really is incredible. If you do ever get the chance to visit and its in the height of summer get there early as the heat and the crowds can be unbearable.
Beautiful video and photography. Thank you for doing light zooms, and not jerking the camera all over the place too fast. We can really get a chance to see the details of a great ensemble of vignettes.
and also they even designed the underwater ground to have dips and valleys and detail. I have never seen that ever before on any railroad layout....Amazing....
15.4 kilometer??? Ik moest er mee stoppen..mijn vrouw vond 3 meter al genoeg.....grapje hoor, wat is dit mooi, lijkt mij mooi om daar rond te lopen en leuke filmpjes te maken....dit is een top video!!!!
Why would you dislike something like this ? It takes an unbelievable amount of time and effort to build a model like this , obviously this person or person's have a huge amount of talent hat off
James Wingad I'm aware of the Faller Car System ... it's a real investment! What they have at Miniatur Wunderland, is their own system ... not Faller's. Each moving vehicle has its own battery source ... there is a whole series of videos made of this place as it was being created, and one of the videos actually shows and describes how it was achieved. They use many brands of vehicles, as well as fabricate their own.
They'd just started building the airport when I was last there. This place is amazing and well-worth a visit if you're in Hamburg. The "Minatur Wonderland" is situated in an old warehouse in Speicherstadt and is home to the largest miniature railway set in the world.
To achieve "realism," movement of objects is essential. They have fabulously accomplished on a grand basis, truly stupendous imagery. One of the things I've always felt was missing in model railroading is that the "trains move--everything else "stops." Here the highways have motion, properly set lights have visualized potential movement and even though there are some "mistakes," this project is hardly a "failure." It is an outstanding and awesome product of hard work and time. Great video.
This truly way beyond fabulous! Only German engineering could produce such overwhelming detail. The only thing I feel is missing from this presentation are establishment shots depicting the vastness of this display.
je suis bluffé ! C'est monstrueusement surréaliste ! Une pure merveille !!!!!!!!! j'ai du mal à trouver les superlatifs que mérite une telle réalisation . Merci d'avoir posté cette superbe vidée .
What a superb attention to detail this layout is, I'm spending more time looking at the scenery than I am the trains! If more of the vehicles moved perhaps that would be nice; just my personal opinion! Well done the creators...
Excellent. The people behind it went to the bank, told them what they planned to do and said they needed a million euros. The bank agreed and that was it. It now has a huge compliment of staff working on it, with a computer control room that looks like NASA. Many vehicles run on batteries and when the computer decides one is running low, it is sent to a recharging area, parks in the correct bay, and contacts on it's wing mirrors allow it to quickly recharge. Everything is hand made, with some models needing hundreds of hours of work on them.
I used to watch model trains from your channel when I was 5 years old suddenly I thought let's see model trains and your video comes aaahhh that vibe of your miniature world I can't describe in words you bring back my childhood memories thank you so muchhh PILENTUM❤❤
I'm breathless.... The attention to detail surpasses anything I have seen before. Who remembers "Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet"? Especially in Thunderbirds though when they have a road scene. Very impressive to watch even now. I bet Gerry Anderson (I think that's his name) would kill for a set like this. Oh yes and Joe 90 had his fair share of road scenes too. I thought the amusement park ride at 49 min 43 secs was funny though, the speed would scare the life out of you not to mention the G forces... lol
Seen under this "angle" we understand better how all this is working. What a marvelous world that the models, more than likely, to the delight of the youngest and most less young people. Thank you and wish you a pleasant day.+PILENTUM Unter diesem "Blickwinkel" verstehen wir besser, wie das alles funktioniert. Was für eine wunderbare Welt, die die Models höchstwahrscheinlich zur Freude der Jüngsten und der Meisten haben weniger junge Leute. Vielen Dank und wünsche Ihnen einen schönen Tag.
SO impressive in terms of the variety of scenarios, the precision and the range of modeling and automation techniques involved - at least one person's lifetime work surely...
Absolument extraordinaire, totalement gigantesque et démesuré mais aussi d’une grande précision. Bravo et merci de m’avoir invité à la découverte de votre pays.
Ana looks as if she might have a nose wheel tyre issue. Have British and American airlines been excluded? What a fantastic lay out and the realism is quite amazing!
😮👍👏Really awesome. This is the 1st model railroad I've seen where even the road trafic, is moving. I was wondering how could it work... maybe some magnet, moving below the road.
Absolutely fantastic! How do the boats stay on course? Your a true artist, fabricator, and incredibly smart to make this all come together. True talent.
This is the most visited tourist goal in Hamburg. More than 1.000.000 paying guests every year. The place is run by two brothers with an incredible sense of what might entertain the spectators and a magnificent ability to stimulate their staff to think the same way. I am quite sure that the MiWuLa could not have been developed and run by so many other people than these.Enthusiasm is the key word here. But try walking into a bank these days and convince them to put billions of dollars into a model railroad. It most definitely is worth a journey also from abroad. Come on guys and travel to Hamburg. We come down from Denmark regularly
OMG this is so awesome. It’s the best set up ever. Love every section and amazed of the airport. Trains, planes, automobiles and boats. Wow! Thank You for sharing. ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome and impressive layout! I haven’t seen anything this beautiful and this big ever - a lot of work went into putting this stunning layout together and have it work flawlessly which it did 👍💕 Thank you Pilentium for sharing this awesome video 😁
Absolutely amazing setup ! A lot of work went into this display to make it so realistic- I can’t even imagine how long it took to put this together. I am in awe of the person or people who put this all together- thank you for sharing this amazing video 😁👍💕💕
We just came back from a trip to see the two largest layouts in the world that we know about: Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg and Grand Maket Rossiya in St Petersburg, Russia. Both marvelous, though I couldn't tell which was bigger. They both are incredibly detailed. Another huge one, not so well known, is Northlandz in Flemington, New Jersey. Northlandz is not in the best of condition, but it still is huge and is notable for its long and elaborate trestles.
No, it is in a huge building bought just for this, which I wouldn't call a model railroad layout anymore. Really I don't know what category to place this huge model.
Fatdaddy Your right I would NOT call it a Model Railroad, I would call it a WASTE of Money and Time. The whole thing is just STUPID. Read All my comments above.

It would be a treat to capture this video without background visitor noise and just have the sounds of the jets and trains.

You sir Must have never seen a GOOD Model Railroad.

Yes, this afternoon I took a scale model vacation in Switzerland and Germany and was home in time for supper. Thanks for making that possible.
I have visited this layout twice in the last 10 years and the evolution of the layout is ongoing it really is incredible. If you do ever get the chance to visit and its in the height of summer get there early as the heat and the crowds can be unbearable.

I am truly stunned! The airport stuff killed me and that was just scratching the surface. Real water and boats...wow.
and also they even designed the underwater ground to have dips and valleys and detail. I have never seen that ever before on any railroad layout....Amazing....
Simply put, Incredible! I can not even start to imagine the work and commitment that went into this. Congratulations to all involved.

What I love most - besides the 'landing and taking off' airliners, are the moving vehicles! These men are absolute genius!
It's known as the Faller Car System. Faller being the brand.

Great video! Somebody spent a fortune on the layout
bademeister
from what i understand, the owners of this, used to run a record label and nightclub and sold it all to build this.
The video for this is great, but you can't describe it unless you see it in person. It's very impressive.

Молодцы!!!Макет СУПЕР!!! Сколько сил и времени затрачено на такую красоту.

Well done work of art. I can truly appreciate the amount of time it took to create this perfect world. Tremendous.
Thanks for this. I had no idea anyone had constructed miniatures like this on earth! A great accomplishment.
WOW! And I thought I had seen everything, this is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!
Superb awesome 😉😉
The superb videography only enhances the total effect.
Loved It, Great Camera Work, Fantastic Model's, Could Not Take My Eyes Off ...

The boats in Scandinavia are controlled manually by RC, but there are plans for controlling them via computer.

This place is certainly on my bucket list.

Ring, ring, this is John the electrician here, I have a really bad headache today and wont be in for work today and maybe the next.
Que dire devant cela? …. Respect aux réalisateurs ! Quel rêve .

Awesome and impressive layout! I haven’t seen anything this beautiful and this big ever - a lot of work went into putting this stunning layout together and have it work flawlessly which it did 👍💕

Cant believe..
So amazing...
Furious like kids
wow, this is absolutely amazing
Absolutely amazing setup ! A lot of work went into this display to make it so realistic- I can’t even imagine how long it took to put this together.
I am in awe of the person or people who put this all together- thank you for sharing this amazing video 😁👍💕💕
Elna Bjelland-Hughes I agree
They claim it took them 760.000 hours construction time (and counting, as they continue to expand the exhibit).
The great Xcelerator
Wow - that’s lot of hours and a lot of hard work but it was worth all of that to make this so amazing .
The Ultimate architectural model. What a espectacular job.
Cool video I so like the trains there:)
Hello from Kansas 🇺🇸
Beeindruckend!!!
This is, of course, awesome. But I was hoping for more overviews of the whole setup, or at least larger pieces of it.
Schöne Anlage immer wieder gern anzuschauen.
Very very very very very very very nice , good , fantastic and fabulous
I could watch this all day
Pretty crazy. Lots of detail and hard work no doubt.
Cool boy i loved your model
One of the best !
Most amazing layout I have ever seen!
Mashallah 👌👌👌👍👍👍
Very nice technology
Es una maravilla ,por ejemplo estaba viendo, los aviones y entonces me e dado cuenta ,que era una maqueta. BRAVO
Un capolavoro di passione, tecnica, ingegneria e Modellismo Ferroviario !
A masterpiece of passion, technique, engineering and railway modeling!
Best layout ever
I've seen this same model setup quite some time ago on a different channel. Now they even update and include B787. Good job!

Thank you for the information. If I should ever visit Russia or the USA, I have one additional destination in both countries now.
Nice video
I wonder how they keep the layout so clean,a major task in itself.
the detail is just out of this world! how do they keep the display dust free?
This is unbelievable! I thought I was watching a regular video during the opening minutes. Is this in a home? Where do you have this set up?
No, it is in a huge building bought just for this, which I wouldn't call a model railroad layout anymore. Really I don't know what category to place this huge model.
Fatdaddy Your right I would NOT call it a Model Railroad, I would call it a WASTE of Money and Time. The whole thing is just STUPID. Read All my comments above.

Joseph Meko Dude these guys do it for a living. For a hobby! What is wrong with doing the thing you love and showing it to the world?!
What trains?
Simply awesome.
So good bro!
