Wow, looks like a thriving metropolis! When I was stationed there 1970-1973 there was very very little. The Rondevou was about it, great pizza burgers!
Have a lot of family that are from here and still live here I haven’t been here in so long but still looks very familiar seeing sleepers made me feel some type of way 😊
Visited cousins in Caribou in the 50s and 60s. Stationed at Loring from 83 to 85. Saw the location where my cousin's office supply store and building used to be when entering Caribou from Fort Fairfield.
Yes, I have driven through Maine. Not one Starbucks, but Dunkin Donuts on Every Corner. Their not much for Putting up Fencing either. Beautiful country for Leaf Peeping. You really gotta like Solitude. We went to visit my Daughters In-laws. In the Metropolis of Corinth. Lol.
Why is there no sound. I was born and raised in Caribou, but now live in North Carolina, but I go back every chance I get. When Losing Air Force Base closed we lost a lot of our revenue from the base.
My uncle Warren was the only certified jeweler/watchmaker/clockmaker in the entire state and repaired watches and clocks for 50 years in Caribou. My grandfather George did the same in Ashland for 75 years. Anyone up northern Maine knows who they are. Pelletier’s.
Yeah. You might want to actually stop and maybe focus on the names of the streets, unless your goal was just letting the world know that you drove through a town and have little regard for traffic laws.@@tnlone
Thanks for the ride..been 30+ years since I was there...got family in surrounding towns..😁
Thanks for video. Grew up there in late 60's. SO SAD what it is now. Use to have Penneys and woolworths and Newberrys and rexal drug stores
What's wrong with it now? Genuinely asking, I did not grow up there.
After Loring Air Force Base was shuttered, the main source of income locally, there was nothing coming in after to replace
the facility....
Thanks you got me in one of your scenes.

What a quiet road
After driving all through town, now you got me lost. 😅
You can’t get lost in the county.

The sound is on. It's just a very quiet town.
Loring Air Force Base...
I lived on Collins St and Elmwood ave back in the 70"s also a short time at the airport trailer park.

My mother grew up in Ashland... You know the Chalou's?
I havent been back up there since my grandfather Adre passed about 10 years ago.
CAn you show more of the greenery and scenery?
Looks like Sleepers is still open, back in the 70's we teenagers bought all our Levis there....
4:30 the building on the right-- is that due to that fire taht happened or was that building just demolished. that fire was devastating either way.
Yes last winter it burned. luckily there are fire walls between the rest of that building on water street.
@@SuperTundra08 thanks for the info
Ty.
Looks just like small town Ohio... like exactly!
Pretty sure I saw Barney Fife in this video
Why is there no sound in the video?
It's a really quiet town now that the mill closed.
@@darrentibbetts4607 no silly, I mean there is literally NO sound in the video. 😂
@garrettmcwilliams5437 maybe it was done by a deaf person, they wouldn't know the difference.
Stop signs mean stop
Thanks Barney Fife

@@robertpalmer3166 take it easy Barney Fife.
Looks like the most boring place on earth
And that’s why we love it
You like drugs?
