It's interesting to me that, at this point in history, Congress wasn't super-divided. Kennedy's party didn't give every point a standing ovation for the cameras, and the opposition party didn't sit stoically refusing to applaud. No one booed him. There was mutual respect; no one was playing a part for the TV cameras. I wish it was like that again.

Did anybody notice that whenever he spoke he often looked off the sheet to look over the crowd towards the sky? He did this often during speeches . He wasn't just reading words,he was speaking to the country. All other presidents looked straight into the camera or only to those seated closest to him. Kennedy looked at all of us wherever he went!

Am I am man after Jack-Jack's heart (thinking); he referred to the United States of America as a great REPUBLIC, NOT a Democracy. I was born 6 years, 1 month and 7 days after he was MURDERED; I never knew him but I find that my thinking is very similar to his. I am a Black man and a Muslim but I hear the sincerity of him through his words, and in my mind, it makes him a great man. "It is not Communism versus Capitalism, but of coercion versus free choice." ~ Jack Kennedy

    • @shea086

Very well said Ab Dhul.. In my opinion the US is definitely not a democracy. Mockracy describes it better because in that country the peoples wishes are never carried out. In my opinion America is run by gangster like businessmen who even dress like Gangsters. If it looks and sounds like a duck.. It is a duck. There is not even a tip of the hat to democracy. It's a con job and has been going down hill ever since the November 63 coup. The proplem is that the US wants to drag the rest of the world down with it. Essentially it is blackmailing the world with it's stockpile of Nuclear weapons. It does not want to go down alone but it will unless the people clean the place up.

In spite of crippling back pain, this man delivered us of evil...until the evil fought back. His speeches, addresses, press conferences, informal interviews at al. were a joint product of his and the eloquent Ted Sorendon's thoughts and language and grammatical sophistication. Heed his words .... now more than ever. Democracy in his mind was more than access to stuff...it mea t access to basic needs:health, education, welfare, dreams, opportunities, equality, beauty, decent shelter...oh please, he was heads above the paltry pygmies we have touting their platforms...like stealing other president's slogans.

JFK was diagnosed with Addisons Disease in 1947.
He had to take daily steroids and other drugs to manage his symptoms. He had a ruptured spinal disk and constant back pain.
He was given Last Rites in 1947 and 1951.

There is a edit, censure, or fail on the sound track, from 0300 to 0430 about(approx). Right after the word Cuba, it sounds to me as if someone has pressed the audio record button at this point and thereby silenceing the vocal track. I'm a sound engineer so I'm very familiar with this sort of thing. It may well be intentional but considering so many people are studying the words of JFK, I find this baffling. Maybe not everyone wants to hear all the words. I suppose you could call it a work of censorship.

It was Johnson who made the State of the Union address a prime-time show, probably about 1966. This was JFK's last State of the Union speech. Unfortunately there seems to be an audio dropout close to the beginning. But, in those days, the State of the Union was a bread-and-butter report that was given around the noon hour and pretty much stuck to its Constitutional function. It was televised live and parts of it were rebroadcast the same day.

There is another type of warfare-new in its intensity, ancient in its origin-war by
guerrillas, subversives, insurgents, assassins; war by ambush instead of by combat, by
infiltration instead of aggression, seeking victory by eroding and exhausting the enemy
instead of engaging him. It preys on unrest.

""If at times our actions seem to make life difficult for others it is only because history has made life difficult for us all""..the history of Europe leaves it without many choices based on their years of conflict and hatred....sometimes we have exhausted all of our options Europe is one of these intellectual situations in which their thousands of years have caused a depletion of unity. The US has a valuable resource in its new beginnings from Europe. This starts a new psychology of living and contemplation of resolutions that differs from that of the long long history of war-hatred-conflict and bitterness among the European countries...Its important that we support "to the best of our abilities" the philosophies of our beliefs and the future of the United States. We have done a great injustice to ourselves by our failure ( security and intellect) to provide support for our own speaker of intellectual leadership and failure resulting in death of our selves and president.

He spoke against trade protectionism regarding both the EU and USA. I would doubt that he or anyone since has made entirely substantial inroads against that. The West Europeans maybe importing African produce but paying Africans peanuts for it then selling it in Europe for substantial mark ups whilst subsidising their own agriculturalists to buggery and back resulting in ongoing massive food surpluses.
