@Mr. Jamel, Sir ....With the Pandemic, the wokedness to Racism and injustice, the violence and political upheaval that’s causing many of us to suffer from traumatic WTFism, I’d like to thank you for providing a place for us to lay our burdens down and just have fun. 👍🏾✊🏾🤜🏾 Do I hear an Amen??!!! Thankyajeezusss!!! 🖐🏾
Wow! I have been learning quite a lot about Mexico in the last year. I have never been, but that will change. This only fuels the fire! Estoy estudiando espanol ahora!
Gracias por apreciar nuestra música Mexicana que es patrimonio de esta preciosa humanidad. Thank you for appreciating our Mexican music that is the heritage of this beautiful humanity.
Thanks for appreciating our music, dear friend! Miguel Aveces Mejía used to sing this song about 70 years ago, and now, new wonderful Mexican singers like Mariachi Vargas keep this beautiful tradition alive! Best of life for you, dear friend!
bro, the violin represents the sky, the flutes the birds, the trumpets the mountains. We visualize it. It's in our blood. You foreigners cant even grasp a quarter of our songs. DEEP!
This is one of my favorite songs of all time, and definitely my favorite Mexican song. Talk about a beautiful falsetto! ("falsete") And yes, the OG of this song was Miguel Aceves Mejia (The c in Aceves is pronounced like an s = ahh-SEH-vess). The singer here is Arturo Vargas (no relation to the founder of Mariachi Vargas). Mariach Vargas is my favorite mariachi, and they're world renowned. Here, they're performing with the Symphonic Orchestra of Queretaro (the state of Queretaro). As for Tecalitlan, that took me a while to pronounce properly. Many location names in Mexico are not in Spanish, but in Nahuatl, one of Mexico's native languages (pre-Spanish). SO glad you enjoyed this! :) (Btw, "mariachi" can refer to both a single musician - "That guy's a mariachi" - and also to a group - "Mariachi Vargas is amazing!")
Soo happy to see my Country of origins music transcend for everyone to appreciate. love your knowledge of the artist God Bless America and Viva 🇲🇽!!!!!
GROWING UP WITH 8O% OR OF MY FRIENDS BEENING MEXICAN I LO💚E THEIR CULTURE AND MUSIC IT'S VERY POWERFUL OF A SOUND PRETTY MUCH THEIR VERSION OF CLASSICAL ORCHESTRA MUSIC BUT WITH BREATH TAKING VOCAL RANGE PRETTY MUCH MEXICAN OPERA THANKS FOR THIS JAMEL_AKA_JAMAL ✌& LO💚E BROTHER
God I miss performing Mariachi. He is a down to earth guy, and always ready to teach us commoners lol. The singers name is Arturo Vargas, the writer Miguel Aceves is the original singer of that song.
Mariachi are superstars in Texas. No matter where you are, if a Mariachi band member walks in, in full regalia, he demands your full attention. Women tend to swoon. A shindig in South Texas is missing something if there isn't a Mariachi band.
That was a full blown Symphonic piece! If you like this symphonic sound you should react to Huapango by Pablo Moncayo - I was blown away. Very reminicent of Aaron Copeland and sure enough - he studied with him.
Nosotros siempre los admiramos por su música, su ritmo, voces y es un placer que valores lo bueno de la música y en especial nuestra música nosotros lo disfrutamos igual, este hombre canta PADRISIMO, VERDAD????? Amasing !!!!!
Thank you for these videos. I never would have seen this otherwise. It was fantastic. If you have not see him, check out Sugar Chile Robinson. He sang and played piano as a young child in the 40's. He composed several of his own songs.
It was a great and honest reaction to mariachi band. I would like to see more reactions to old soul music, there's a great talent in our black ancestors
the man is a god of the mariachi genre! his falceto i haven't heard another male latino mariachi singer who has the breath control for those loooooooooong notes and then to be able to go up and down in range on said falcetos wowowowowowo
Hi, I like yer reaction of this traditional song, many singers and groups was singing this song, but in this time is the best mariachi in the world, Mariachi Vargas de Tecatitlan, this group formed more than 100 years, and the singer of this video is Arturo Vargas. Hails from Mexico city.
Hi Jamel, nice to see you. In general, two registers are distinguished in the human voice, a low register or chest and a high register or head, which is higher than the natural voice and sometimes unsightly. Falsetto singing has had great schools throughout history that have perfected this method of voice emission. There is also the term "make a falsete" which is commonly used in Mexican folk music, like mariachi, huapangos, huasteco sones, etc., this type of technique consists of abruptly going from chest voice to head voice. Something that distinguishes the Mexican falsetto from other types of falsetto, is that the melody does not stay in the head voice, but is just a jump of at least a major second up to a full octave. Send you a hug, bro.
Great reaction Jamal. How about some TexMex by the Texas Tornados. Maybe He Baby Que Paso, Who Were You Thinking of, Guacamole, She Never Spoke Spanish to Me. Thanks for all you work
He is the siger of the Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán. Tecalitlán is a town of the State of Jalisco. Jalisco its capital is Guadalajara, (second largest city of Mexico) and Tecalitlan and Cocula towns are where the Mariachi is from. Best wishes from Mexico !!!
This is the mariachi that backed up Linda Ronstandt on Canciones de mi Padre. They are considered the greatest mariachi group in the world. They have backed many of the great vocalists.
Have you done any reactions to Maná yet? I took a quick look through your playlists and didn't see any. Really great Mexican rock band. I saw them in Toronto a couple years ago and was floored. They are my husband's favourite band from his highschool days.
As a Mexican born, US raised and live, I'm amazed at how Americans are getting into Mexican culture--our food, music, and my mother country. Did you all know that Mexican food is classified as a "Cultural Heritage of Humanity" by Unesco (UN)? It is one of four, with the others being French, Japanese, and Mediterranean foods. Our music is the most prolific in the Spanish world. México is the epicenter of all latin music. As far as places, did you all know we have a natural pink beach? Yes! They're called, "Las Coloradas" in the Yucatán Peninsula, near Cancún. Btw, have a listen at "Cielo Rojo"--En Vivo (Live), by Tania Libertad. It is phenomenal. Tania is a Peruvian-born, Mexican with a voice, out of this world!
Greetings from Mexico. Maybe you heard this song before performed by Miguel Aceves Mejia. He also sang Malaguena, which I recommend too. Thanks for praising regional Mexican music
I remember my parents would blast mariachi on Saturday’s to clean and my white BFF would come over and actually help us clean so we could get our chores done fast so we could go play. She still says when she hears mariachi she said it’s nostalgic and makes her wanna clean LOL
Once this thing is over 🙏 if the band Metalachi comes to your town, GO see them!!! They do metalized mariachi covers of metal and ‘80s rock songs, as well as traditional canciones and originals. SUPER talented band and a total blast.
