I am a cattle breeder in Edo state. Cattle farming is a private business, I don’t know why this debate? Individual cattle farmer can acquire land to do their business. It is shame on us today Nigeria that cattle farming had become become an issue of debate…The only solution to this in Nigeria is a zero grazing or semi zero grazing grazing system.

Apparently it is the responsibility of all Nigerians to take care of Fulani herds men and lose farms and lives so that herders can be fine

If other tribe are the ones rearing cows, Fulani would not tolerate what they're doing now, They have this entitled mentality of we get anything we want, what if the Eastern region demand for lands in everywhere in Nigeria to do their trade would it be given to them? If Fulani want to do their cow business, they should buy land anywhere as others buy and do their business, why would they demand land with Authority

These herders are not the real owners of these cattle, they are owned by wealthy northerners who don’t want to spend money to do their private business.
There are two things Tinubu can’t do.
    1. Granting amnesty to the marauding killer terrorists in the name of bandits.
    2. Using country’s resources to build ranches for herdsmen that is someone’s private business.
If this government of Tinubu happens to do any of these two things, then expect riots this government can never control.

When traders and markets encroach on the motor ways, the government doesn't go to any assembly to push the traders away from the high ways. But when herders encroach on farms, the government finds it difficult to tell the herders to keep off peoples farms.

This cattle rearing of grazing through people's farmlands is causing serious Security issues. People are dying! You can talk like this because none of your relative had lost their lives from farmer herder crises. In the south east, people are killed while in their farms.

The dictionary and technical definitions of agriculture includes animal husbandry, poultry and fishery enterprises. Thus, as much as I dislike it, the fact remains that the NASS has legislative competence over animal husbandry.

Mr. Hom does not understand the principles of constitutional jurisprudence. He seems to view the constitution as a statute. While the language in statutes are to be absolutely adhered to, in constitutional jurisprudential interpretation, the court respects the intent and dynamism of the lagislature in enacting laws addressing the health and safety of the nation. Further, the legislature has the inherent powers to legislate commerce in Nigeria. Animal husbandry is a commercial activity and thus legistable. Mr. Hom's narrow understanding of the role of the legislature in a constitutional democracy is disappointing. No constitution in the world spells out 100% of all imaginable and unimaginable human activities for the nation. The legislature evolves with time in ever fashioning the constitution, a dynamic document, to solve the prevailing evils and societal challenges.

These so-called lawyers are grasping at straws in their contrived pseudo intellectualism. It is frustrating to see these men on the airwaves engaging in these meaningless arguments in the name of constitutional jurisprudence, when in fact they are novices in constitutional history.

The moderator should stop making likes of this man popular, majority of the people in Nigeria has outgrown this kind of outdated mindset, without considering we are living in the new millennium.
