@@troylee4196Chinese college entrance exams (aka Gaokao in pinyin) is probably the hardest exam in the world. It also happened in early June, right around the NBA finals in terms of sports time frame
You’ll need to take 6 subjects: Chinese, math, English, and 3 electives (physics, chemistry, and biology if you’re declaring for STEM track; and history, geography, and political science if you’re declaring for humanities track).
In my experience the STEM questions (my Chinese isn’t that good to take the test) are on par or harder than many introductory undergraduate courses in the states, and you basically spend the entire 3 years of high school preparing for it because you only get one chance of taking it, unlike the SAT or ACT

I work for the Trail Blazers and that day I was filming an interview with Jermaine O'Neal for our 90's decade night. 5 Minutes before he sat down, I had all my lights and cameras set up, so I scrolled through my phone to kill time and saw the TMZ report. I thought it was fake, then O'neal's agent came over to me and said Jermaine may not be able to do the interview. He was so shocked. Mind you, he was in the 96 draft (Just like Kobe) and came out of high school (Just like Kobe) and competed in the 2000 Finals against each other (Kobe's 1st ring).....they were like brothers, so it was tough to be in the same room with somebody who actually knew him when we heard the news. I was a big Kobe fan and was super emotional. I couldn't imagine actually knowing him, his wife and kids. Later that night we played the Pacers and I had been comped a free suite from the Organization with 8 of my friends. Walking to the suite I realized we were in Suite 24 with 8 of my friends...Just a crazy day I'll never forget.

I do.. I was sitting in my computer room playing a game of some sort, a couple hours before I had to go to work. My older brother texts me "Kobe died :/" At first I'm like "Who's Kobe?" Didn't strike me right away that it was Kobe Bryant. At first thought it was a buddy of his that perhaps he thought I knew, or he texted the wrong person.. Then about 5 or 6 seconds later, it hits me. Immediately, I try to find a source that confirmed it, and found 4 right away. I've been saddened by some celebrities deaths, but never felt numb to them. I felt numb hearing the news of Kobe's death. "No way.. No.. Fucking way.."
Walked out to the living room, still trying to comprehend what I just read. My mother was like "What's up?" I couldn't even say it immediately. It didn't feel right. I took a few deep breaths before I uttered out what just happened. Even today it still stings. It was an incredibly sad day..
