Question at 26:36 is on point. This therapist has some magic ability to find "the true trans" kid EVERYTIME? in what sense are the puberty blockers "time to think"? They are not. They will make concrete the idea that the kid is in the wrong body. Funny - it's almost like there is a whole book on this topic, backed up by mountains of data from the biggest children's gender clinic in the world (the taverstock clinic). This therapist has a metaphysical view - that we have "a gender identity" (sorry - i don't have one), that's it's obvious to work out the gender identity of any kid, that this therapist can medicalise correctly, and WOW no kid EVER changes their mind after we put on blockers!? How amazing! After this treatment model is rolled back by the big public health systems (eg the uk), and the most progressive countries across northern and western Europe - all because they do not help distressed people - still this therapist can't entertain the idea that they might be wrong, and they might be harming their patients. Hypothetically - is there any evidence that could possibly change their mind? I doubt it! At this point it's just faith in a religion conviction

Appreciate that you are so open with your personal experiences, sharing that you would have been okay either way. (Transitioning or not.) Its rare to hear this kind of discusion online. (Also here is a pumpkin emoji 🎃)

What im seeing Alot of now is trans regret when they get older they are regretful if the decision they made when they were kid's, like most of us im 63 And think back to decisions i made as a young adolescent. The woke doctor's are a problem IMO

I listen to the conversation, but my skepticism remains. I heard alot of typical talking points.

Well I’m not sure which view you’re still skeptical of, but either way, you should be! You’re hearing a conversation of two people who disagree strongly and have vastly different perspectives. It’s meant to be thought-provoking and to show a conversation that’s not in one bubble.

@@AINorman Yes, of course. I enjoy the dialogue. I was referring to the perspectives of the therapist. I am sceptical about children being led down a trans path too soon, causing harm. I think your assessment that there is no way to know which children will benefit, and which children will come to regret medicalization is correct
