This tank is even more impressive in person. Can you guys do another video on the maintenance and coral care: what you guys feed also share the parameters.
Excellent Particularly when you started discussing the relative natural reef slop environments. And the the contrast against a "high energy" environment. The descriptions in creating a moderate or low energy reef tank, and the framing around what conditions the hobbyist is replicating is welcome and was well said.
Another informative video. Great job on the tank guys! A friend of mine is about to throw in the towel on his tank if he hasn’t already. He has a smaller waterbox but was trying to set a tank something like this up. Not sure what the deal was with his tank but I gave him tons of coral specifically frogspawn that I could grow in gasoline but he could not keep it alive for whatever reason. He had all top notch gear which just goes to show it isn’t the gear.
This kind of content is great Josh - specialized focus on corals The part about flow, the part about reach - these are all problems people with mixed reefs are going to run into
Excellent information. Similar advice you've offered lately seems to have my tank making a turn for the better. I was hanging on for a bit more objective info about the lighting. The Radion profiles are great for those who run Radions but not so much help for us Dalua X4 or other users. I know some can argue about PAR ratings but it would be something we all could reference.
Great video! Could you guys share the par range that the tank is getting if you have them? It can be really hard to find solid info and ranges online vary a ton
Great and very informative video, keep it up, guys! I had an idea to put a frogspawn as a single solitary coral in my little 10gal tank... Would you say that it will outgrow the tank in a long run? Is it manageable or is it a bad idea in general?
Love these videos on tank setups and things too look out for Do you have any tips on recovering the flesh band on torches if they have receeded? My tank parameters are ok but im not sure if the receeding band is related to flow or too much light ? Or if possibly lack of nutrients Thank you
What powerhead and power settings are you using, I think my tank has to much flow for Euphyllia, trying to figure it out. Thanks for the video, very helpful
How do they get such clear looking tanks? my tanks always have some algae build up from the bottom where the sand is and always scraping off algae on the sides of glass
Blew the tentacles off my first torch 🤦♂️🤦♂️ miraculously it recovered and now it has deformed tips You’re right about the clowns as well, one of my clowns scrapped/burnt off one pelvic fin trying to host the torch 😢
@@WorldWideCorals wow ok interesting ... what about white ? one more thing, when blues is 100% but général intensity is 50% so it's like/equal blue working 50% at 100% intensity right ?

what's the trick to getting torches to extend like that? My torches are extended, but certainly not that long. Is it a species base (Indos I know tend to be longer), or maturity?
@@WorldWideCorals have had 1 of them for 2 years and had multiple heads, had the others for 6 months all 1 head. They're extended, but not to the extreme as the ones in your video.
I'm currently watching my last torch diminish. I had 4 super-healthy and thriving species that just started dying off after 3 years of growth for reasons I can't explain. In other words, I'm discouraged and disappointed & I'm not buying any more euphelia for the next year or so.
Hi. Just an idea but you may want to check your equipment for testing salinity. I was having loads off problems with polyp bailout. I was calibrating my refractometer with ro water... once i bought the refractometer fluid thats at normal sea level concentration i realised how far i was out. Tank was running at 1.021, alls been good since then. Good luck.
@@WorldWideCorals I'm already @ sorry🤣. I did its just one of those reef mysteries that humble me when I think I finally figured it out. I'm like in a state of loss now
Remember that hammers and frogspawn aren't classified as Euphyllia anymore gents. They have been reclassified into their own genus- Fimbriaphyllia. This is due to genetically distinct ancestors as well as different polyp morphology 🤙
Yea but no one cares. Everyone knows what is being referred to and theyre using terms that most people(their customers) use as this is not meant to be a scientific journal
The genus name has been around in the hobby so long, it will stick for mostly everyone. Same goes for Acans now being micromussa and scolys being homophyllia. The old, classic names will be here to stay since they are what everyone is used to.
Low nutrients will also cause coral to close up and be unhappy. They look best around 20 nitrates and .2 phosphates. Hammer and frogspawn are Fimbriaphyllia, which is why they shouldn’t be touching a torch.
Perhaps those figures work best in your system but I doubt there is a ‘best’ level of No3 or Po4 at all. There’s many factors that contribute to what levels are ideal in any given system.

Great video! Could you guys share the par range that the tank is getting if you have them? It can be really hard to find solid info and ranges online vary a ton
The top of the tank is getting about 180 par.
Ive always noticed that when my lights turn all blue. Torches, hammers and frogspawn definitely expand more.
Sucking up the good wavelengths!!!!
It's possible that the white light or full spectrum is too intense for their liking. That's a clue!!
Great and very informative video, keep it up, guys!
I had an idea to put a frogspawn as a single solitary coral in my little 10gal tank... Would you say that it will outgrow the tank in a long run? Is it manageable or is it a bad idea in general?
It would do fine in that system :)
Really curious of the par readings! I’m going for a lps dominant tank and it’s also 2ft deep like this!
Please update on the haddoni ta k that is next to this one!
Thank you for the suggestion, we may have to do just that!
Would love to see under that tank? Just run a skimmer or is there a fuge/alage scrubber as well?
We do not run any fuges or algae scrubbers on any of our tanks. It is just a skimmer and some filter floss for filtration. We keep it simple!
Torches need indirectional chaotic flow. Get them going into a spiraling effect it keeps the ext away
What are you using for powerheads on your tank?
Great video as always! Would be awesome if you done a little deeper dive into if you do have issues such as brown jelly, what steps is best ❤

I will let him know you said that!!!
Why in the hammers all the green turn to blue seems like the green tips got burned off
Euphyllia can have different color tips on the same coral. We see this all the time.
How do I get your light setting new to this light system thsnks
Hello ! What about light schedule and intensity during the day ? these 2 radions intensity are like 50% blue/UV ?
We run the blues at 100% and UV is at 0% on this tank in particular. The overall intensity is also at 100% so, blues cranked up all the way!

Could be due to low nutrients or very high phosphates. There can be many causes though.

flesh bands completly dictate the health status of a torch or hammer
I agree. Everyone should ask to see this band when buying euphyllia from LFS when possible.
