No joke, but you should now be the new face of brstv. Now ryans moved on its left a big gap and no offence to the other guys doing the videos on the channel. It takes alot to replace Ryan and it should be you bro. Hope they see you pertential and give you a push. You deserve it. Very entertaining.
Something worth trying- I used it to eradicate aptasia. I used Two little fishies Phosban-L (concentrated) to inject aptasia. Worked beautifully. Might be the precipitate puncturing the aptasia or binding phosphate within them. Either way it works. Might it work for vermiteds? Yes, you have to dose with caution - keeping an eye on phosphate levels within your tank. No issues with my fish, tangs included.
I had a huge outbreak & definitely agree with getting a game plan as soon as you see them. There are 10 hidden for every 1 you see.. overflows, plumbing, weirs, sumps, powerheads. I tried everything, but bumblebee snails were the only thing that worked for my infestation. I agree that you'll need patience with the bumblebees though, it took a few months. You'll also need a lot of them! My tank is 165 gallons total, and I ended up adding something along the lines of 50. They definitely eat other critters and other small snails, but turbo snails that are quarter size and larger seem to be safe from them.
It worked great for me. You need to do it repeatedly though. I used it every other day. Feed first, then when their webs come out, add the coral snow. They are all dead now and the only tubes left are the ones I can't reach.
@cjane4107 I used it daily for over a month with zero results. I do have primarily large vermetids rather than the very tiny ones; not sure if that is a factor.
If they are under rocks and out of the way, that's not terrible. It's when they are slinging mucus nets all over your corals that they become an issue.
Hard for me to tell people to stay away from the copper band butterfly. Mine is wonderfully healthy and loves to pick at my V snails. It’s crazy to me how much I hear about how difficult the copper band is to keep. Mine has been a breeze and he’s got such a personality!
You know, I really don't have an answer for you on this one! I suppose it could work, in theory, but we've never tried it. Sounds like an idea for a future video!
I have an obscene amount of tiny vermitids and probably 10-20 bumblebees and the bumblebee snails don't seem to do anything to control it They don't bother the corals too much but they can be pretty obnoxious about growing right up next to corals
Great Video I just cut them off 😂 when they are bothering any corals or like you said I remove any corals I get and yes it’s a Pain in the butt but it is what it is
i have a question about duncan coral i have 3 in my tank but 1 is just fully closed and its open and i can see the inside it has 5 heads and i don't have pest in my tank the other two are doing very good even growing 4 heads right now its not bleaching or turning brown its still green and is just been retracted for weeks now
This video is perfectly timed for me. Thank you.
Great video on tackling vermetid snails and keeping our corals safe. Thanks for sharing with us how to deal with these pesky snails in a reef tank! 😊
I'm glad you found it helpful!
@@BRStv I'm learning a lot from you. Keep posting your good contents! 😊

Definitely agree with this statement 👍👍👍
Sincerely appreciate the kind words!!!
Ive used calcium carbonate. Starved them out . Does take a few weeks tho .

Coral snow (calcium carbonate) also helps a lot!
yep
It didn't work at all for me.

Thanks for a helpful video
Their population exploded when i was brodcast feeding coral food
Manually! Are you kidding me, these things love sitting under rocks and all the inaccessible places you cant get at without stripping your tank.

I used a jewel puffer, cleaned em up great, sure he nipped on a few corals but ate the vermitids like candy, both of them i had.
Be careful they jump!

They can be great, but people do have a very difficult time keeping them. Awesome that you've got a healthy one that is going strong!
Mine is the same, eats anything but I understand that I’m very lucky.
Sixline wrasse a clean aquarium bring the number down eventually almost gone
Odd you dont even mention sodium bicarbonate or coral snow…
It had no effect on my vermetids.
does UV treatment kill their spawning?

Enjoy the suck. Once entrenched, they're here to stay.
At that point, it's all about management of the population!
what if i dont want epoxy and superglue spots everywhere
You can remove them after a while.
Bumblebee snails didn't do crap for me and my tank is not appropriate for a copperband
Try coral snow, every other day for a few weeks.

BBee snails should take care of it
Have you got any advice for getting rid of colonial hydroids
I've had luck in the past using kalk paste, or covering them up for a while using a coral mounting putty.
Can you do AEFW next?☠

i do 2 water changes a week to clean my water very clean and i run a uv and media reactor
Second time I had to empty and dry my 1450 liter display because of vermitid ... i had very very nasty infection :/
Wow! That sounds awful!
Yes I did😢
Bumblebee snails don't work you would need thousands
Starving your tank for how long?
You don't want to starve the tank; just don't overfeed and hold off on coral foods until after you get the vermetids under control.
