Thank you so so much for showing a ( REAL) Chicago FD response from a busy down town station 😊❤😊 the public must see this is a REAL response from station 😊 And please, public walkers, when the RIGS are in quarters and have emergency lights on, please ( YELD) stop just walking in front of bay doors 😊 the DRIVER or whatever eastcoaters call the driver's. For myself with my 1989 Spartan Gladiator pumper it belongs to my dog BLAZE who loves riding between me and my officer ( shotgun rider wife) he stands on the engine cover and watches all the people around my rig. But please people be very careful walking in front of an FD station especially in big cities. That rig DRIVER has so much on his mind. I love it from a sense of reality that as soon as they leave station, it's the MOVE TRAFFIC. Please, we must get out of here to the alarm or call out. The REAL Chicago FD at its finest 😊❤😊
don't leave the lights going for a minute or more when you aren't close to being ready to leave. Human nature dictates people will end uip walking and ignoring lights because so often you see lights on while people are still putting clothes on. Sad reality is people learn to ignore.
what is the purpose of the squads? In my dept. it's a Ford F350? that has a small pump & compartments and chases medicals mostly which is good since chasing those in an engine is a pain. At 6:23 that engine doesn't have much of anything on it.
I own a 1989 Spartan Gladiator pumper it's my new baby boy 😊 I love the silver series DD with the turbo. But she is a fuel hog. I can watch the fuel gage go down just driving her to events. She has massive pick up off a full stop. 😊
ngl i really missed G510 a LOT! And that missing frontline in my opinion kinda makes it look like a e-one but omll I never seen a firetruck with a different car logo. But these pierces are powerful like a durmax and no wonder truck 3 has so many calls XD

Maybe because they are constantly getting runs and when it’s winter. The water will freeze and cause problems. But judging by your comment you’re too dumb to think of that.
@@Mrquartermilethere is absolutely no excuse for the rigs to look like that , they can easily wash them in the bay when they're not on a call.... where i live the firefighters do their washes inside during the winter when there's freezing temperatures and snow outside they also temporarily put the rig being cleaned out of service so it can be done without any interruption from a dispatch or instead of going out of service they'd use the spare apparatus.
Nice Vid but why is there a CHEVY LOGO ON A PIERCE!!!!!

Maybe because it’s like a rock.
possibly from wreck debris and they taped it onto the truck.

You’re absolutely right. The public needs to be more aware of their surroundings around fire stations, especially in busy areas.

Nice catch of G510 at the end, it's definitely seen better days but still kickin! CFD must not have much of a reserve fleet anymore.
Ivan, merry Christmas. When I first saw a Chicago Fire truck as a kid, they looked like rolling Christmas trees with the black cab and green lights.
The only station in Chicago i know is firehouse 51
@WyattMarkey-e1r They film it at Engine 18's quarters.
What is up with the green flashing lights? Never seen that before.
Man if only the CFD didn't retire the old 1980s, ish snorkel aparatus! That way Squad 1 wouldnt be using a spare engine for the snorkel
There is one of the old snorkels still floating around. Whenever there is a 4-11 or 5-11 they roll it out
@jayp7171 Well I think they might need to bring it out rn as a spare aparatus for probably squad 1
u are heroes ! thank u for the video!!

@@rp1645I would really love to hear the backstory of how you got your hands on one, Sir! Please do share if you can.
Does the CFD have a house watch position like the FDNY does
How often do they clean or power wash their fire trucks???
Right they are always dirty
They wash them in the morning but after busy days they end up dirty
@Chicagolandfirevideos happy holidays !!!
Nice catch that’s EX T32
That’s right I thought it was old truck 25 for a second
What happened to Truck 3's frontline?
@@aidankateri I forgot to ask
Most likely a issue 😱
@@EastCoastFireBuff 😅
@@EastCoastFireBuffProbably another one in the batch of E-One Lemons that the CFD received in the past 5 years
Do they ever clean there equipment? Just wondering!
They would have to wash the rigs 20 times a day during the winter. Plus it would freeze and cause more problems than it’s worth.
@ not gonna lie I was so focused on the fire truck I didn’t even pay attention to see what season it was 😂😂😂
@@cking5239 when it gets cold we don’t wash our rigs regularly either. Only reason I knew lol 😂. Plus Chicago runs a lot more calls than me.
I love how good at driving they are.
@@mren5750 very smooth
Wait so the CFD has Q sirens on their trucks?
@T00thpicked23 not all
The EQ2B
Love the green light tradition they keep.
Weird how the enignes have the Federal Q siren but don't use them
EQs, only a few pieces of equipment in Chicago have actual q2bs and they're spare airport rigs

Apparently being in the crosshatch area is not a problem until it is...
It's a big cross hatch section. Are cars supposed to stop before it when the light is red? 🤔
@ErikSaBoS I don't think so. But it certainly makes for good videos 😜
LOVE IT 🤩
nice video
Thanks for sharing!
Is Truck 3 using pool vehicle?
2:33 Chevy logo on a Pierce? What's the world coming to?
Wow Squad 1 and 1A both in reserve trucks.
Using spares I guess
Wait both squads are OOS Sq1 and Sq1A

Why is the fire department so lazy wash the truck if you have nothing to do.
Well is probably because of the cold weather I think
Maybe because they are constantly getting runs and when it’s winter. The water will freeze and cause problems. But judging by your comment you’re too dumb to think of that.

Chicago fire dont work as hard as fdny.
Still hard workers as are the rest all first responders across the country and world.
