I’ve dealt with migraines since 2010. I’ve tried different medication to which none have worked. I went to a new neurological yesterday and he said I have occipital neuralgia and to see a chiropractor or get acupuncture or maybe physical therapy. I’m currently on temporary SSI and trying to find a new primary doctor since my last one retired. I say all that too say my insurance won’t cover these special treatments without a referral and the doctor I saw yesterday didn’t offer any other way of relief when I get these excruciating migraines lasting up to 5 days some times. I’m at a bit of a loss and not sure what to do at this point. Getting a misdiagnosis for years and now finding out I have something that can be treatable yet I don’t have the funds or insurance to do anything is frustrating.
