Bangda Fish Curry | Recipe by Archana | Indian Curry with Rice | Quick Main Course in Marathi

- Learn how to make Bangda Fish Curry (Indian Mackerel) at home from our chef Archana on Ruchkar Mejwani. This is a spicy and easy to cook fish curry recipe that you can have with bhakri, roti or plain rice.

Ingredients:
5 Indian Mackerels, washed and cut into pieces
1/2 Cup Grated Coconut
1 tbsp Coriander Seeds
7-8 Dry Raw Mango
7-8 Dry Red Chillies
4-5 Black Pepper
5 Teppal
7-8 Garlic
1/2 inch Ginger
1 tsp Oil
Water
Salt to taste
Method:
- To make the masala paste for the curry in a grinder add grated coconut, coriander seeds, dry raw mango, dry red chillies, black pepper, garlic and water. Grind everything to a smooth paste. The masala paste is ready.
- Then separately grind the teppals with little water.
- In a pan heat some oil.
- Add chopped ginger and the masala paste. Mix everything well.
- Then add the ground tirfals and mix well.
- Add salt and let everything come to a boil.
- Add the fish pieces and mix well.
- Let the curry boil for 10 minutes.
- Bangda fish curry in ready!

Tirfal adds extra taste & kills the typical smell of Bangada. perfect.! we normally grind little dry coconut powder along with wet & add a teaspoon of coconut oil when the curry is done ...thanks for the typical konkani recipe.

Masta recipe. I am a great fan of yours and always refer to your videos for Marathi cuisines.
In the video you mentioned 'amsul' and also mentioned it is 'dry mango'. To me both are different, and I think 7-8 pieces of 'amsul' will be too much, while dry mango pieces would be ok. I think either of them could be used, only quantities need to be adjusted. Could you clarify this point.
Subodh Joshi this recipi is tipical our karwarian konkani style recipi. it has bit southindian costal origin where fish curry are made with lots of coconut n amsul or kokam which are called as sola in our karwarian lang.so ppl of karwar n Karnataka prefer eating tangy bangude curry with rice as rice is main food there. u try using same proportion it will come out really good
Amsul is not sukki kairi. It is the treated peals of a fruit that is only found in Konkan called raat ambe.

You are a good presenter, effervescent, bubbly. Next time, please speak slowly and kindly list the ingredients. The recipe was good, a bit close to what we make in Mangalore. But we use coconut oil. The music seemed instrumental French and the volume for editing was just right in that you were still heard clearly.
