Laws aside, a 5.7 pistol with pop out stock, but that could still be stowed away for ccw, something like berettas 93r folding stock, would be the ultimate firearm. A true pistol that could be carried iwb like any other, extra stability fot long range shots, and a flat shooting caliber that could actually make hits at 150 yards
Nice job Gear Runner. I actually won this gun in a raffle that I entered in April. Got the call in August and I've yet to fire it, but I will soon when I head to the range. Thanks!!
The only reason it’s so expensive to get 5.7 is because so few manufacturers produce it. For carry, it would probably be a great option due to the way the round works. High penetration but small bullet, so it can pierce armour while also getting stuck inside of someone who is attacking. The round is still fairly new, but its purpose was to replace the 9mm, and I feel that if we give manufacturers a bit more time, that could happen, or at least be a really good alternative of similar cost
I found that using the magazine loader that came in the box really helps with loading those mags. I had no idea that's what its purpose was when I unboxed it, but I found a video that explained its operation and it makes loading a lot easier.
@@miterbox7031 In case you haven't figured it out yet, slip the magazine loader over the top of the magazine with the hole facing towards the back. Make sure the hole in the loader is higher than the top of the magazine. Push the round into the hole pointed end forward, then when it's inside all the way push the loader down until the round clicks into place. Lather, rinse, repeat.

This is instantly one of my favorites. I plan to carry this. I hip carry IWB- and this is thinner than my current ccw- VP9SK. Plan on mounting a Holosun EPS carry in a month or two
Just put the dead air mask on my S&W 5.7 and it will not come off after 10 rounds contacted dead air they said they don't recommend putting it on this pistol the rotating bolt is tightening the suppressor every shot and no fix for it yet
I am, load 18 rounds until it breaks in. If you keep having trouble call S&W and request new springs they will send you new ones. They will also say no one else has called them to say this is a problem ( lies ) good luck hope this helps you out.
@@gearrunner I ordered one Friday and it should be here tomorrow. I picked up a red dot(Viridian green)and tac light(holosun pid*) and gonna dress her up purdy. I have a mag that sticks and I literally have to shake the ammo out so I’m calling CS tomorrow and see what they can do about these mags. Seems pretty common. I do not find this firearm any more or less reliable than my Ruger.
I’d get one, but the ammo is expensive and I’m hearing that people are having issues with the magazines. Also it is a very slim grip and the threaded barrel seems kind of pointless for that cartridge.
I will say I was very surprised at how quiet this pistol is suppressed. The magazines are kind of aggravating at times. They are difficult to load and when fully loaded are very difficult to insert with a closed slide.
All these issues go away around 800-1000 rounds. So essentially you’re spending the price of the gun on ammo to get it broke in. Lol. Thing runs flawlessly. I run mine with a Rugged Oculus which is a perfect pairing.
I’m having WAY more issues than just the mag. Trigger bar was bent, optics cut is canted, trigger is garbage. I’m very sad to report this as a day one M&P fan
@@gearrunner I just purchased this 5.7 and went to the rang; wow is it smooth, from the recoil to the trigger pull. Now I'm just waiting for holsters to be available.
@@gearrunner Quick question: do you have any brass markings on the gun's slide, to the left of the ejection port? Just took mine M&P 5.7 to the range and it seems like the brass casings are bouncing off the slide, that little tapered cut part. It's not scratched just brass smudges. Thanks.

The M&P will never be reliable with 22 rounds in the mag. The M&P 57 magazine is .25" shorter than the Ruger 57 20 round mag and .24" shorter than the FN57 20 round mag but the S&W holds TWO MORE ROUNDS! S&W achieves this by a much shorter follower and much weaker mag spring.
