Federal groups launch national initiative to combat hate - May 2, 2024

Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF) CEO Mohammed Hashim, Diversity Minister Kamal Khera, Liberal MPs Jennifer O'Connell, Liberal MP George Chahal, and Canada's assistant chief statistician Josée Bégin hold a news conference in Ottawa to announce a series of workshops on recognizing and reporting hate crimes.
The CRRF is collaborating with Statistics Canada to hold the two-day workshops in 12 cities across the country. The national initiative will include sessions on Charter rights and addressing hate crimes through the criminal justice system, as well as hate crime awareness programs for law enforcement.
