  • Prime Minister Justin holds a news conference in Winnipeg to highlight the federal government’s plan to create a National School Food Program. He is joined by ministers Jenna Sudds (families) and Dan Vandal (northern affairs), Kevin Lamoureux (the Liberal MP for Winnipeg North), Nello Altomare (Manitoba's education minister), and Clara Birnie (Child Nutrition Council of Manitoba). The Liberal government pledged $1 billion in the recent federal budget for the creation of a school food program.
Responding to questions from reporters, the prime minister discusses recent comments from CSIS director David Vigneault warning Canadians against using Chinese-owned social media platform TikTok. He also faces questions about Canada's grocery code of conduct, and about the Ontario government's recent request to the federal government to pause the approval of new safe drug supply sites in the province.
