The only problem with gold flame honeysuckle is it's prone to aphids and powdery mildew and it won't bloom in the spring from aphid damage if I don't spray it and in the summer when it finally blooms it then loses most of its leaves from the powdery mildew. So this year I sprayed it with a pest/fungus and disease/ spray for vegetable plants and it finally bloomed this spring and is bushing out with new vining stems.

Can you grow this in a pot? I've got one coming not sure about planting in the ground. I live in Mesa Arizona.

I have several in a planter box, so yes they will grow in a container. Will need a trellis to train the branches.

I do have another question, my backyard gets sun pretty much all day and the front get afternoon sun, with the heat here where would it be better to place the honeysuckle?

@@jacquebuhle5653 The plant is rated for full sun or part-shade. In Mesa, I would probably opt for the afternoon sun.
