- Saemapetch Fairtex showed the world why he is one of the greatest Muay Thai practitioners with a scintillating striking showcase at ONE: ROOTS OF HONOR. Taking on Serbian Muay Thai World Champion Ognjen Topic, the Thai superstar pressed forward with his boxing and connected with a blistering left which sent his opponent staggering to the fence. Saemapetch followed up with a volley of strikes to force a standing count late in the first stanza. Though Topic rallied in the final seconds of the bout with a salvo of elbows, it proved to be too late as the judges awarded Saemapetch a majority decision victory, lifting his record to a perfect 3-0 in ONE Super Series.

Someone in this comment said Saemapetch win but not clearly. Why you said that. Saemapetch make a clearly all of 3 round. Topic just had a big moment 10 seconds. I think that’s clearly win. And if Topic wanna rematch I think He gonna lose again.
I dont think its really fair to judge ognjen at the end of the third round. When you're adrenaline is that high you don't really notice other things and you can see the moment the bell rings hes already winding up the two elbows. Now this wouldve been a clearly different story if he kept continuing even after the ref stepped in but he immediately stopped.
100% people judge that have never even done a few rounds of hard sparring let alone in front of thousands of people with your career on the line

I felt Topic was trying to survive an assault and not trying to fight in a match. That attitude is only good for the streets not on matches. And I respect that, tbh Topic was more awesome than Saemapetch!
@@de20 I've had a few professional and I agree, adrenaline doesn't stop the ability to hear the bell ring. I think he just knew it was gonna land so didn't wanna stop.

When you're in there blasting each other with elbows, the adrenaline is so high you might not hear it. I can speak from experience.

Have you ever fought before ? If so you’d know that you never hear the bell . The reff is there for that reason

After the 1st round 8 count, Topic knew he would most likely need a KO to win. Why he wasted time with doubled up leg kicks and takedowns, instead of landing and blocking strikes, made no sense. After that 8 count he had only 6 minutes, and point fighting and wearing down his opponent, were no longer a path to victory -
Fairtex got saved by the bell, he was going to get knocked out-

If you call that first a standing knockdown and not when he had him cornered throwing full powered elbows you don't deserve to ref. And saemapetch should have lost points for diving at the ground to avoid strikes in the first round.
